I don’t think we’ll lose.

But if we did, I’m not sure I’d survive the absolute cesspool of hot takes, overreactions, and grievances that would flood the media afterwards.

Obviously this subreddit would immediately devolve into barbarism and arguments, forcing me to forsake it. Twitter would follow a similar path. Tuning into WGR for the postgame would be out of the question, it would just become the “fire McDermott” channel.
Even going into to work M-F would be an unthinkable nightmare; the Bills conversations in that place are idiotic even when they win.

I’m seriously thinking about just permanently moving to Alaska if we lose Week 1.

What were you guys planning on doing?

  1. It’s the NFL. Things change in unexpected ways every week. There’s enough media out there that isn’t hot take-y. Turn off espn. Listen to Joe Marino or your favorite voice of reason.

  2. Watch the all 22, listen to all the radio, pretend I’m the one that can diagnose and fix the problems even though I have zero connection to the organization.

  3. Just ignore it. Even if we win I’m sure there will still be a cesspool of hot takes etc about how we didn’t “win right” or whatever. Who cares.

  4. Make a new sub called /r/chillbills for people who don’t get too worked up about losing and just want to enjoy their favourite team play a beautiful sport.

  5. I think I’ll be okay with it. Gonna be a tight matchup. I just want a good game TBH

  6. I think the more interesting ask is how will all the pundits with their heads up Rodgers ass will do if the bills win.

  7. Stay out of this sub and it’s doomerism. Stay out of r/NFL because they want to see us fail. Trust McDermott will course correct.

Pray at my Josh Allen shrine for a bountiful season.

  8. Depends on how they lose. If it’s a close game then whatever as long as they play well. If they play like shit and lose embarrassingly then we get pissed

  9. The Chiefs just lost to the Lions. Would it be annoying? Yes, but anything beyond “the Jets have improved” is just clickbait overreaction

  10. If the thing you worry most about are other people’s reactions…just don’t listen to other people’s reactions.

The obsession with what people say about the Bills is exhausting. It’s like being mad your favorite movie or video game didn’t get the review you were hoping for.

This team was dogshit for 20 years, now they are a top 5 team and Super Bowl contenders. If you can’t find a way to enjoy that…why are you watching sports?

  11. Last year killed me . Last year I had expectations to win each and every week. I’m going into this season a lot more go with the flow .

  12. Nobody wins the super bowl in week 1.

    My prediction for the season:
Bills lose week 1 to the Jets and everyone coronates them as the new division leaders.

But the Bills rally and finish with a strong record, splitting the series with the Jets, and despite losing a few more regular season games than usual they come into the playoffs hungry and prepared, ultimately making it to at least the AFC championship.

A Monday win will be validating, but a loss will propel them into the upcoming slate of games.

I’d prefer a win but the sky isn’t going to fall by losing to a well constructed and hungry team.

  13. Depends on how they lose. 51-3 with Josh going 15/30 150 and 3 picks and the defense looking horrid…nuclear option. Losing close game, while outplaying the Jets, but dropped passes, stupid penalties being/not being called, fluky turnovers deciding the game…I’d shrug it off

  14. Over-reaction Tuesday??
It was an NFL conspiracy- jets couldn’t lose on 9.11 in NYC, prime time in Rodgers’ 1st game.

  15. The jets are home dogs against a divisional rival and have a hof quarterback. It shouldn’t be surprising if we lose… Its a long season. We should stay calm if we lose. Remember all those super bowl years that the patriots absolutely sucked in September?

  16. FFS. I’m planning on trusting the team to make adjustments and improve over the rest of the season.

  17. Thing is, Jets fans are taking this far more seriously than anyone. It’s going to be a very LOOONGGGG, anxiety filled season for any Jets fan that is using one regular season game as an indicator of the future.

  18. When bills fans started talking trash about the chiefs…….I thought man we haven’t even played yet. Plus it’s a set-up game. In NYC..on Monday night…on 9-11. Last year we opened up against the Super Bowl champs. Hoping for good things

  19. You shut your mouth. Let the coaches coach, and the players play. Then you watch your team and cheer them on the next week.

  20. I, for one, will not consume a single morsel of food until Tom Donahoe and Wade Phillips are fired from One Bills Drive.
