In short, the defense looked solid. Offense has a lot of work to do. Fairbairn is the GOAT. OBJ is a bitch. Moving on. Go Astros.
The Good:
– Stroud played a lot better as the game went on and looked more comfortable.
– Defense played pretty well, especially given limitations on the offense and some key injuries (Ward and Pitre).
– The young guys as a whole looked decent. Tank, Stroud, WAJ, Pitre, and Stingley all had their moments.
The Bad:
– Injuries are hurting an already-thin roster. Hopefully when all of our starters are healthy we can see what Stroud and the defense are capable of.
– The play calling was spotty. Should’ve done more to establish the run and not gone to PA as much. Oline injuries do excuse some of this.
The Ugly:
– Way too many penalties that seriously killed some drives.
– The oline is atrocious and while we do have injuries, it doesn’t change the fact that it seriously limits the offense and puts Stroud in danger.

I’m just so happy to have an actual football team again, after 7 years of O’Brien hell, and back to back one and dones from Lovie and whoever that other guy was.
All things considered I expected us to score about this much and Baltimore to score about 10 more points so we mildly exceeded my expectations.
D is massively improved; great job Meco
Offense needs work, health, and experience from top to bottom, but the potential was on display. It was just disjointed due to playcalls and stuttered far too much.
Stroud had an extremely rough start and shook off most of the jitters to begin finding his rhythm. He took a couple of sacks that should have been thrown away. There were moments today where is talent and skillset were clearly on display, and moments where he looked like a rookie. Overall a very positive first game against a strong defense with no major mistakes.
Slowik needs to calm the fuck down on the bootlegs and feed Pierce more early in the game. You gotta establish the run and work on calling a more efficient offense. We all wanna see Stroud on those naked bootlegs but you gotta put in the work to earn it.
Quick time to overreact
tits lost to the mid saints lol
Defense looked real good. OLine is so beat up we can’t judge the offense properly. But Stroud didn’t fall apart from the pressure.
I liked a lot of what I saw from Stroud. Looking forward to his growth
Stroud is the guy
About what I expected. With no Oline or receiving talent Stroud has to play hero ball and it’s gonna be rough sledding for a while.
Injuries were frustrating but overall great game from stroud and receivers. Just really hoping those injuries dont screw us over for the coming weeks.
Calm down yall this ravens team was hard to play against, was at baltimore, and this was arguably lamars best receiving core he’s ever had.
I’m thrilled with stroud and the defense. We gonna be alright. Need to get healthy on OL
There’s gonna be a lot of hate in here I feel like and I just want to say that I personally found a lot to look forward to in this game. Our defense played good, exponentially better with Pitre out there too, CJ looked good and not just good, he *didn’t look stupid*, there were no egregious mistakes from him that you see out of a lot of rookies. The O-Line is garbage but it’s also *not our O-Line* give it a couple weeks for guys to come back and then we can reevaluate, I’m happy with what I saw though.
Expecting a rookie QB to go on the road and beat a Baltimore team that’s top 5 in the AFC with no running game, depleted o-line and rookie coaching staff would be insane
I prefer our young QB to any of the other ones I saw today.
O Line needs to improve a lot and need to run it a lot better; on the positive, Stroud can get his first TD next week at home
Good game from stroud defense looked pretty promising I’m leaving here with something
I enjoyed our defense. Despite the refereeing and our offense being killed by the O line, I think we are in a better spot than we were last year.
A lot to still keep me hopeful honestly.
Stroud played really well, and I think will continue to ramp up in games quicker and quicker.
The O-Line situation is just horrendous, and definitely heavily impacted the entire gameplan.
Pitre and Ward missing from the secondary really hit us, but the defense still showed a lot of potential. They’ll be fun to watch this year.
Sucks to lose but honestly I’m pretty happy with what I saw from Stroud, first time I’ve been optimistic in a while
The offense needs to stop with the compressed sets and heavy I formation as the base. NFL OCs never seem to learn from their predecessors with rookie QBs. They look good when you spread the field, throw on early downs, and play fast. To Slowik’s credit he did eventually start doing that, but it took way too long. We had a couple good drives in the first half doing that, and immediately come out in the 2nd half doing the same crap that wasn’t working. Next week needs more runs from shotgun added and 11 personnel to be our base.
There’s talent there, but man so many times they could’ve taken the momentum and someone somewhere just fucked it up and killed all momentum.
Looking like I’ll have to relegate the Texans to my second monitor this season.
/u/cal_mcnair…. bruh lmao
242 yards is awesome for Strouds debut. Wish he could have gotten a touchdown, but one thing I was really impressed with, is even though it was extremely rocky at the beginning, he still made those passes later in the game. He didn’t get completely shook and give up.
Whelp, guess it’s gonna be another RedZone year with the Texans on a second screen. Again.
