Proof number 189673 that you do not have to know anything about the sport but just need to reliably be able to say either 1) things that sound smart and all viewers instinctively agree to or 2) something controversial enough that viewers get worked up on it without being outraged.
Btw this applies to pretty much every sports commentary not just the NFL. Also i realize that I am making big claims based off of some game picks but it fits the broader annoying picture of sports commentary being the most shallow shit on TV even worse than Bravo
