I remember seeing here post-draft that Holmes had Gibbs higher on his board than Robinson, I think this is the first time I’ve seen it confirmed by the staff though.
I think Jahmyr and Bijan both looked *real* good W1. Of course will be interesting to see how their careers play out, but right now I’m feeling pretty awesome about Gibbs + LaPorta (- a 3rd rounder) instead of Bijan.
Bijan looked amazing week 1. That TD was gorgeous
Two different play styles for sure. Gibbs can do everything really well and is a tough guy to bring down. I like both Bijan and Gibbs, i think Gibbs definitely fit better in Detroit
They’re both going to be special
Gibbs actually looked more physical than Bijan did in Week 1. Bijan was slippery and really smooth, just like he was in college, but Gibbs really ran into people and pinballed out of people in a way I didn’t expect. I don’t even think we’ve seen Gibbs at top speed yet – I can’t wait until he breaks one like Jahvid Best.
I just want us to use him more, by far he looked like the best offensive player not named Amonra give him the ball
Gibbs idolized and built his game on Barry Sanders and you saw it already with the juke step & spinning moves. The fact that he catches the ball as well as most top WRs puts him in the talk of another great RB, think 1999 for several years… Marshall Faulk!!
Bijan was damn good. Gibbs plus laporta looked EVEN better. I mean sam laporta might have had the best overall day ive ever noticed from a rookie tight ends first game. Pass game, run game, mistake free. He’s legit.
On Sunday we’ll get a chance to evaluate if we would prefer having Witherspoon or Gibbs + LaPorta.
