Kirill Kaprizov’s health suddenly a concern as sinking Wild head to Sweden
November 13, 2023
Summary: we aren’t all crazy, something is wrong with Kirill. Evason said “a little banged up”, so no definite answers, but also indicated that Kirill might not be healthy enough to play in Sweden.

“Kaprizov has been bothered by something and on Monday missed the Wild’s practice in Minnesota before the team’s 10 p.m. CT charter to Stockholm for what coach Dean Evason deemed a “maintenance day.”
“A little banged up,” Evason said a day after the Wild lost their third in a row and ninth in the past 12.
Evason was then vague when asked if this has been something bothering Kaprizov for a while and whether it could be the reason he has looked so off.
“I don’t know,” he said. “All our performances are affected a little bit right now.” ”
Also of note: Freddy Gaudreau on LTIR is what’s allowing the Wild to bring Nic Petan, Daemon Hunt and Jesper Wallstedt on this road trip. Wild would have been able to bring Wallstedt either way as emergency goalie, but this allows the team to actually have the cap space to play any of the people they brought. Monday practice before the flight out was more intense than usual and focused on structure and defense. Duhaime won’t receive discipline for the Harley hit.
He has been playing this same way since game 2 of the playoffs last season when it looked like he got injured as well. Seems afraid to hold the puck and actively avoids contact.
