  1. Man this shit ain’t funny.

    How the fuck were we down 40-60 at half, but crawled back in, only to blow it with dumb plays and Ime not challenging a clear jump ball in the last 2 minutes?

    Nets D were good at neutralizing Sengun, but our small ball lineup was able to crawl back in. Just couldn’t finish it off even though the D was great. Dumb plays, bad shooting. The bad shooting has been a persistent theme with our team’s struggles.

    It’s still a young team, so struggles are inevitable. Just annoying that we get a blowout win and get rest, then play garbage and unserious for a half, only to nearly comeback but just barely miss it.

  8. Yea I knew when Sengun was fouled it was over lol. Clutch free throws are like kryptonite to him. Needs to work on those.

  14. We had that game at the end there man. We force OT and it was game over. Brooklyn wanted none of it. So frustrating.

  15. Fred has been ass for a while now. He probably needs to take a few days off to rest his legs

    Also another game where Amen was a monster but didn’t get enough usage or minutes

  16. Sengun got iced out the whole 4th quarter until the last 20 seconds lmfao. I saw that missed free throw coming. The fact that Udoka did not put Sengun in when Claxton came out with 4 minutes is unacceptable. His stubbornness is his own weakness. 

  17. Sengun should start aiming for the front of the rim on all of his free throws because that second free throw was butter.  

    I don’t think I have ever seen him swish it sweeter than that.

  19. This one hurt but you can’t expect to win down 28 at one point. Team will learn but god these rotations were rough.

  20. if only we had some consistent offense and plays, I swear we would’ve pulled this one comfortably. too much iso, dumb three/lay-up attempts, no movement whatsoever… SO SO FRUSTRATING. props to Ime for making the right adjustments to close the gap, but we really need some offensive consistency when teams are taking away our biggest, and quite frankly only weapon on offense, being the PNR/post up with Alpi. we still haven’t figured that out.

  22. Damn, a great comeback but a few bad calls by refs plus a few mistakes by our guys took us out of it. Despite what I am sure haters will say this is not on one individual, it is a team loss but hopefully one they all learn from.

  23. Fred and Alpi just seemed like they didn’t get their sleep last night. What an emotional rollercoaster, shit’s just sad.

  24. Alpi missing the 1st FT and making the 2nd reminds me of when Scola did the same shit vs. the Jazz and T-Mac yelled at him.

  25. Ime has to go for the challenge there. It’s already a long shot at that point to win the game. Even if it’s 50/50, you challenge and win, you have a great chance to win. You lose the challenge and it’s still a long shot. You gotta take some chances, that’s what you’ve been saving the challenge for FFS.

  27. Refs are so bad. Clear jump ball… they know every attempt at the ball late isn’t a foul? Jalen already had a few good defensive plays down the stretch, would’ve been the icing on the cake. But besides that we would’ve won probably with that much more time and only down 1

WHEN HARDEN RODE THE PINE IN A GOD DAMN PLAYOFF ELIMINATION GAME OF ALL THINGS YOU KNOW WHAT WE DID? WE CHEERED FOR SMOOVE AND COREY AND THE TEAM WINNING. BECAUSE WE’RE ROCKETS FANS FIRST. TOO OF MANY OF Y’ALL CLEARLY ARE NOT.

    FRED WITH SOME VERY UNFREDLIKE TURNOVERS. THE ONLY THING YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO IS STUPID SHIT. YOU’RE THE CALM COOL VET HERE, MAN.

  30. Udoka needs to implement some structured offence. 40 in a half is unacceptable.

    Gonna get downvoted but i am glad he sits Alpi when he plays like this. He needs to give effort on defence and stop avoiding fouls everytime someone drives into basket. We will se if he really likes to get coached hard. I am sure he responds and will play much more better.

  34. When you play very awful for 5-6 minutes straight of a game and trail by 20 in the half, naturally this happens.

    Playing without Alpi was a right decison until some point but Ime took him back a bit late… While hacking Claxton they could keep Alpi in, especially when Claxton subbed out Alpi could cook in easier, that was a wrong decision in my opinion at that point.

    Fred is going down, heavy load hits him hard, Allstar break could work for him, so Ime needs to learn to trust Amen more these days, the kid is smart and plays with heart.

    Cam is talented but has some tunnel vision, reminds me of Jalen’s rookie year. At least jalen is getting better on other parts of the game even he’s not consistent enough yet. and I call that as developing.

    Alpi is also tired, he needs that Allstar break too.

  35. Ime needs to decide who his go to guys are. If it is sengun and jalen fucking trust them and keep them in at all times so they can work on their weaknesses. This sitting down shit is not working in the NBA, it is not college ball.

    You can’t sit your all star candidate a whole quarter against the fucking Nets when your VETERANS shoot 2/15 from the three. Then don’t put him in in the last 17 secs so he is in a position to shoot 2 ice cold.

    Obviously we are in a much better position compared to last year but i started to question how much of that is actually on Ime.

  38. For the crazy amount of game thread comments about our players “poor basketball iq” it’s amazing how many of yall don’t understand why Ime didn’t challenge the jump ball. 

  39. Sengun, if you are going to be the man (which I fully believe you can) , you do not have the luxury of missing that ft. On the other hand, could it be a different outcome if he had not sit the entire 4th? Maybe.

    Cam and Fred were atrocious. That stretch where Cam missed like 4 in a row and insisted on the brick spree made my eyes bleed. Some of Fred’s turnovers also.

    Unfortunately, Jeff Green has also been off for a few games and the team needs Jabari back ASAP.

    The one person I really liked this game was Amen. He was good defensively and that steal and 3 at the end showed strength of his character.

  42. I didn’t even notice Cam got 19 points and 9 boards. He had that one stretch where he had blinders and missed 4 shots in a row without looking to pass. If this guy ever learns how to settle down he’s going to be a beast.

  43. Yeah I don’t fucking care what anybody here says, but you don’t disrespect your best player like that. Ime basically declared Sengun unplayable by sitting him for 12 entire minutes. So much for motivating your young talent and sending the league a message.

    Jeff & Jalen Green are NOT more switchable than Sengun. Sengun had 12/7/2/1 when he was subbed out, so he didn’t play like shit either. But yeah let everybody else brick shot after shot and then blame Alpi when he gets double teamed whole games and loses the ball occasionaly. And of course blame Sengun for weak pnr lob defence, when your guards act like traffic cones at these situations. What is your suggestion, let Sengun focus on Claxton while the ball handler gets an easy layup being wide open in the zone? Yeah, didn’t think so.

    Rockets have neither been a good defensive nor a good offensive team these last two months. So what exactly is Ime accomplishing right now?

  44. I am Turkish but l am Rockets fan.
    From thes threads, most of the time l support Sengun, but l am not one player supporter.
    Sengun has to come to himself. Everytime he tries to pass, just do your work inside mann, cause this team is terrible in shooting.
    Dont like his defense, l can not expect him to become Gobert or Lopez, but man, some effort, some hustle.
    For this match, l can not blame Udoka for benching him, he tried something and nearly was winning. Maybe he could have gotten in the game before last 20 seconds..

    Alperen, we love you, you are our national player,  but star players does not miss those ft’s in destiny game times.. 
    You have to come to your self, for the last few matches. I don’t like your body language.
    At last. your hands up positioning when referee whistles started to become irritating.

    You should  come to yourself…

  45. I think Cam is ridiculously talented. But he’s got to learn how to play team ball.

    Once it all starts clicking, I think we could be a really dangerous team.

  46. They are back to playing aau and silas basketball on offense and on defense nobody is hustling anymore. It’s truly annoying and awful to watch. Udoka has to set the priorities straight and tap into the pnr more. Also sengun hub can only work without tate and amen in teh same lineup as you need some shooting
