  2. I’ve been looking into WHL and top point producers in the past for that league, and just for a reference point..

    Connor Bedard had a 143 point season in the WHL last year. Heidt has like 10 games left in the regular season and he’s obviously not going to get 43 more points but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he will get maybe 20-25 more points.

    To have a someone in our pipeline that could be within 15-20 points of a ‘once in a generation’ goal scorer makes me feel happy inside.

    Also, his season ends in late March. Any possibility the Wild would maybe throw him in for a few games at the end of the season? Kinda like what they did with Faber?

  3. Not to rain on anyone’s parade but Adam Beckman led the WHL in scoring in his age 18 year. It isn’t instant success guaranteed, but Id rather he score than not!

The benefit this team has is the emergence of Rossi, and additions of Yurov and Khusnutdinov (Ohgren too, if injuries don’t ruin him first) mean they have a lot of potential options to fill out Top 6, and even Top 9 if any or all of them hit. You have Ek and Boldy locked up for years, and god knows they will throw any amount of money Kaprizov would conceivably want. The extended players are going to get worked off the team or down the lineup as years progress, so imagining Kaprizov/Ek/Boldy maintaining their offense and throwing in any number of these guys with them just plain frightens me: in a good way.

    They only have so many forward spots to go around. They can’t all be centerman, so here’s hoping they fill out those lacking wing positions. The Wild only have so much money to go around, but all that buyout money onward could be well spent on good people if they make their mark. It’d be great if all this pans out and the team doesn’t have to pull a lackluster PLD type deal out their ass.
