[Johnston] Placed on NHL waivers today: Vinni Lettieri (MIN), Jake Lucchini (MIN)

1. Per Russo:

   #mnwild  place Vinni Lettieri and Jake Lucchini on waivers. Waivers have to be done by Thursday (so they’re cleared by Friday’s deadline), so this gives Minnesota roster flexibility for trades, maybe Khusnutdinov’s addition. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’d be Iowa-bound

2. Dang I was hoping for Iowa bound, I at least wanted to see some decent games.

3. They’ve had their moments but overall are kind of a strange fit in the bottom 6. Not enough offense and not enough physicality. Shaw and Duhaime are better fits IMO 

4. Assume Shaw slots in and this makes room for Marat

6. Just looked up production this year and the only player who has produced less points per minute than Lucchini was Defenseman Daemon Hunt.

   The only other Forwards that Lettieri has out produced at 45:21 minutes per point are Dewar (48:17), Gaudreau (56:46) and Duhaime (82:47). One could argue that a lot of those minutes are being played on PK for those 3 guys, but last year Duhaime was 54:51, Dewar 49:19, and Gaudreau 34:37. So Dewar is about the same, but big regression with Gaudreau and Duhaime.

   Need some more production on these 3rd and 4th lines, hopefully a shakeup incoming.
