but maybe none better than the team over there at NF uh let’s start here Nick um latest on the marshan Latimore trade potential I I got a question for you at the end of this answer because I need to know which restaurant chain went went backr but we’ll get to that second the first the first thing yeah I mean the thing on lore him and da are talking a little bit so I mean that that’s a good thing the thing I say though is that typically like they’re there are guys that just kind of the season ends and they go off and they do their thing and then they come back when it’s mandatory like typically maron’s one of those guys so like I know a few weeks ago like da or it’s a draft da said that uh he hadn’t spoken to to Marshon and you know I I don’t think that was really atypical like Marshon isn’t someone that shows up for OTAs T Mill is not a guy that shows up for OTAs Alvin C is tweeting pictures of being in Ghana as of yesterday would be surprised if he’s at today’s OTA when we go out there in about an hour so I mean that’s a good thing yeah sorry I think I think uh you know I I think the thing with ladimore is like I think that’s a good sign that it doesn’t sound like it’s like at this place of just intense at odds can’t survive in the same building type of situation so I think that’s a good thing but I still believe that if there is a call and it’s like a high second round pick late first round pick like the type of trade where where you really gotta consider it um I still think the door is wide open for him to get traded not I think that’s definitely a a possibility but it doesn’t sound like it has to happen you know what I mean so I mean I think that’s that’s a step in the right direction for sure I mean surely wouldn’t happen for like a fourth round pick though right like they would need a better they’re they’re GNA need something juicier to make him pull that trigger I feel like is the latest development yeah I saw that bill Barnwell article too where he suggested a fourth round pick no I mean I I I don’t see any way that that would happen that would be that would be crazy I mean he’s someone that I think if you tell me he’s playing every single game this year uh 17 games healthy locked in has the right attitude like he’s a game changer like I I don’t think you trade that type of player for a force now like they do have like a lot of Corners so you could trade him and it wouldn’t necessarily submarine your season or anything like that so it’s it’s something that I think the doors is open on for sure but yeah they aren’t going to give him away they don’t have to trade him you know I know a lot of people like immediately the point of reference is the chy Gardner Johnson trade and like I would say the difference with that is is that like Chanty was going to get cut like they got something for a player they were gonna cut they aren’t G to cut marshan so people like oh they made a dumb trade they they they’ll get rid of these guys for scraps like no like he he was going anyhow like everybody knew he was going and then they got something for him still so I don’t think it’s it’s the same situation at all uh I think that you know they’re kind of willing to to let him come in and do his thing and if he wants to do it great but if someone calls and makes a great offer yeah it definitely could be out of here other Saints questions um Chase young what’s the latest on his injury recovery it sounds like he’s participating like like in the walkthrough portion of practices and stuff like that so I mean he’s up he’s moving it’s a you know I guess that’s that’s probably a good thing we don’t really see him like running or or anything like that and I think it’ll probably be a little while before that happens but it it sounds like it’s trending the right direction um you know everything always is trending the right direction until it isn’t and then you get that devastating update so so you never really know but like I you know it’s funny because like it’s like Chase like I think we talked about the St like Chase y doesn’t exist like it’s hard to factor him into to anything and then like you kind of hear he’s like off him moving and it’s like oh like what if like what if he gets eight sacks this year like what does that do for the team could it could it change things like I don’t think think the bar is like necessarily that high on it like if he’s just like good and solid like I think there’s a a chance that that it changes the fortunes and you kind of start looking down the list and like I think it’s you know it’s May we’re about to go out and watch the first OTA so it’s kind of like we’re at thought like what if optimism portion of the season and I’m G to try not to like buy into it too much this year because I’ve been burn the last two years but like there are guys on that defensive line where like if two or the four what if hit like it might be okay like they might have an okay defensive line this year and you know him fosy pton Turner if Cam Jordan’s just like a little bit less injured like I’m not of the belief that a 35y old is going to like get back to his prime but you know he was hurt last year he had surgery like what if what if he can give you three four shots and be decent against the the run like if a few of these what ifs it like there’s a chance that that line could be okay and uh you know Chase young obviously being the biggest what if and the biggest the biggest upside player like he’s he’s someone with Pro Bowl potential probably the only guy on the defensive line with Pro Bowl potential but you know if everything hits with him like there’s a chance so it sounds like it’s stuning the right way and you know that’s definitely got to be a good thing staying with the defensive line a guy that was a first round pick a year ago and played pretty well Brian Bree we haven’t really talked about him this offseason it was a player that I thought really got better as the year went along like what are the plans maybe for him because you still have other veteran defensive tackles that maybe even had him in the rotation you draft to Christian Boyd now in the sixth round but still you know that’s a guy that you know you kind of like coming out of college what’s the latest maybe with Brian berse and his plan for the Saints defense yeah it’s funny because I I don’t think we talked about him enough at all last year just like in general like he he had a really good season there was just like so much negativity that that it was kind of hard to see like these little yeah these little glimmers here and there um you know a rookie DP that you know I think we did a study before the season and like guys that got like three sacks like that was like a great number for a rookie DT and uh you know he he exceeded that and then he had a couple taken away too I thought he was really good I mean I think there’s still a lot of room for improvement I think there was still some you know Rus at the end of the season there was more at the beginning of the Season continued to get better uh you know the tie levels started to improve near the end of the season I think he’s got to get a little bit better um against AR but you know that that comes with with time and experience that’s usually how it goes uh for these guys but yeah man I I think he really has a chance to be like like a a really good player I mean just you look at kind of where he Stacks up with other guys that kind of had good rookie years and you know he he’s he’s on that that track I think you saw the talent it was never a question of like you know just the circumstances for his college career dropped him a little bit in the draft like I think he he somebody that had probably top 12 talent and he he slipped a little bit so yeah I mean I think I think for sure um I think for sure he’s a guy that that’s that’s a spot of of positivity and I’m excited to see what he can do this year I I think Christian Boyd’s probably more you know I like a lot of the stuff he does but I think you know we we’ve seen how this plays out from the small school that specific small school the transition to the to the uh the NFL um you know and I think even even inside like they’re realistic that is probably like you know he’ll be around this year he’ll probably be able to contribute a little bit but it’s probably year or two where you really start to see it with him so I I don’t think he’s necessarily like someone they’re counting on for for huge production um Nathan Shepard’s another guy that that just really never got mentioned and you know people probably don’t even realize he’s on the team because like we didn’t talk about him yeah he he did he had a good he had a good solid season um you know out of those those two guys like he’s the one that ended up getting uh a lot more a lot more uh silence uh Saunders ended up getting a lot more hype you know and I think he’s just a funner player but but I thought Shephard was a guy that that played a lot better he he’s a he’s a low-key bright spot on that line too so um you know I think they’re expecting a little bit more from him this season too so I think the pieces are there like if if a few of these things hit like it could be a disaster like the downside is disaster you know fosy doesn’t play well pton Turner doesn’t play well B doesn’t continue to progress cam Jordan’s just you know 35 uh Chase young doesn’t like there is a definite disaster scenario but I think realistically like a couple of these things probably will turn out to be okay yeah maybe even good and there’s a chance that defensive line might be I might be fine like I don’t think they need to be great like I think they can just be fine and that there’s definitely a chance of it wow just amazing black and gold takes right there Jake I don’t think I’ve ever heard any takes that are better than the two guys that just gave
