From Russo: #mnwild have let go Darby Hendrickson as assistant coach. He worked with every head coach in team history besides Jacques Lemaire but played for him.
“I would like to thank Darby for all his hard work and commitment to the Minnesota Wild during his long tenure with our organization,” said Bill Guerin. “He has done a tremendous amount of good things for our team and the State of Hockey as a player and a coach. I wish Darby and his family all the best in the future.”
GMBG finally convinced Leipold that Darbs was dead weight, eh?
I wonder if his name will come up in the inevitable mid season coaching shakeups?
Honestly, probably for the best. I love darby, i’m not a huge fan of the how the stuff he was in charge of performed
organization needs a lot of front office house cleaning and get serious about actually being a respectable franchise that’s not content with first round exits.
About fucking time
I forgot he was apart of this team
I would like to thank him for being a contributing team member for so long.
It was beyond time for change though.
About time.
Twitter is so fucking funny man, all these people were screaming to have Darby fired for years and it finally happens and they’re all complaining now or suggesting Billy should be fired next.
Darby definitely contributed to the team for a good long time and I’m thankful to him, but it was absolutely time to move on

Haven’t had enough caffeine today. Mixed up Hendrickson with Hendricks and wondered why they were firing the new Iowa GM.
I don’t want to disrespect him at all as a professional, but on a personal level holy shit I can’t believe it happened. I’m not knowledgeable enough about hockey to have an educated opinion on this other than the fact he’s been here through multiple regimes and we still kept having the same issues. Best of luck Darby, your heart was in it and nobody can take that away.
