Well guess I’m going to bed angry.
Whatevs still taking the series
We have a team WRC+ of 93 since the Astros series, and that time period is now more than 40% of the year. So we have been a below average offense for a while. Concerning
Definitely a West Coast Brewers game it checked all the boxes of stupid shit we do on the west coast. Hopefully they take the next two but the Angels are the Marlins of AL so that has me a bit concerned
Not worth staying up for to say the least.
This RISP shit has to change at some point. It’s a statistical anomaly at this point.
We have a RISP problem, solve it asap.
This is why we lost to the Dbacks last year
June has not been the month for RISP
When you’re a division leading team, this is a game you expect to win against a mediocre team with a mediocre, at best, starter tonight and terrible bullpen.
The Brewers are a good team, but I fear we’re going to run into the exact same issues this year as the past few playoffs…
7 for 66 with RISP since the start of last homestand. Frelick 4 more ABs, 4 more instances of weak contact (though the base hit was very good, just very very hard to expect to be a consistently good big-leaguer when you can’t hit a ball 90mph). Hoskins with another ugly game at the plate. Seems we’re right where we left off.
I know Hoskins didn’t want a rehab assignment because he wanted to get back to “helping the team” but he’s doing the opposite of that right now. 1 for 17 in his last week and that only hit was a 80.6mph groundout, with 9 K’s (should have been 10).
Cubs blew their game and this division is still ours. Would’ve been nice to take this game though.
Brewers as a team have a wRC+ of 95 since the start of the Astros series. Need the offense to start playing like they were early in the year because this team doesn’t have the pitching to support an offense that’s below average.
Used to get excited when we had runners in scoring positions.
I said before the trip started I will take 3-4. Now we gotta win 3 of next 6. Doable.
It is what it is. A team as young as the Brewers are gonna have stretches like this.
Getting Mitchell back should help with the outfield woes a bit, at least. More flexibility there should let slumping players take a break (I.E. Perkins at the moment), plus more of a pinch hitting threat.
Damn radio ads making me hungry
Also I forgot how midwesternly wholesome brewers radio broadcasters are, it was a fun listen tonight.
