Logan Couture trade rumors “absolutely false” says Sharks GM

before we get to the uh Jersey presentation Mike uh you have one more remark to make yeah uh thanks everyone for coming out we appreciate the support as always um you guys have been great great here um since I’ve gotten here and supporting myself and uh the hockey team and um just one more thing I wanted to put to bed for you media guys is whoa hey hey um just one more thing I wanted to put to bed for you media guys is stuff’s out there that I’m looking to trade Logan Couture or anything like that that is absolutely false um if you look at us bringing in young players here and having a young team he’s exactly the type of person you want to have around your young players he’s our captain he’s our leader he had a tough year um but we we love him as a person most importantly and he’s still a heck of a hockey player so um any of those you guys can put any of those about me looking to trade our captain put those to bed mic drop now wait a second did Brazil make a video about Logan Kure I think I did a while back I only said it like this if it’s something that benefits the team and something that Logan would want to do if it makes sense for all parties and I only say that based on Logan’s age how many more chances will he get at winning a cup how fast can the shark get back to something like that that’s that’s the only reason I’m looking at that I never was saying that it was likely or even possible I said if it did happen here’s how here’s how that should go and here’s why it might be a possibility but obviously gy wants to tell you that right now it’s not a possibility that was sorry you know what to to the fact that I think he must have said if nobody asked me about this I’d like to mention that at the end very well done got to say well played so with that uh I’d like to ask Mike Greer and Jonathan Becker to present Ryan with his team’s Jersey for a photo opportunity there you go the formal photo now is this going to be the New fanatic’s Jersey oh no pus I see it no I’m just kidding I KN I know the Fanatics ones aren’t out yet yet

  2. It does make a lot of sense for the Sharks to keep Couture around. This will be one of the youngest teams in the NHL going into 2024-25. If Couture is on the roster, he's a player that can help your younger guys on the ice. If he's not on the roster, he's a LTIR stash (Not to sound insensitive). He's a free agent at the end of 2027. If he can come back in a way he's like an addition because this Sharks team has holes in it and is pretty young.

    My guess of what the Sharks forward lines could look like with no UFAs re-signed, no Couture and no UFAs added:
    Eklund – Celebrini – Zetterlund
    Graf – Granlund – Kostin

    Bordeleau – W. Smith – Gushchin
    G. Smith – Kunin – Studinika

    That's an ugly forward group.

  4. I appreciate everything couture has done. But he ain’t gonna benefit this team anymore. And quite frankly his career is done. So for me, if you can get rid of him
