SAN JOSE SHARKS TRADE FOR TY DELLANDREA + CLAIM BARCLAY GOODROW OFF WAIVERS (Stars, Rangers News)

Big Time deals here folks the San Jose Sharks are making moves because they have just acquired two roster forwards firstly we’ll talk about the fact that they acquired Tha delandria from the Dallas Stars and then we’ll talk about how they had acquired barlay goodro from the New York Rangers these are two separate conversations they happened within the span of an hour or so of course I was sleeping so I didn’t see this until now but this right here here is what I wanted to open this video up with because taking a look at tidel Andrea and the Dallas star situation when I saw this trade go down I was really confused I was like okay wait a minute the sharks are getting tied Del landria for a fourth round pick that’s it when you think about what ti delandria was as a 2018 drafted Prospect he was taken in the 13th overall spot and I remember back when this draft came and went we saw the Quinn Hughes of the world get taken we saw Adam boquist Evan buard Noah Dobson a lot of people were clowning on this pick by the Dallas Stars when it was made okay why the hell did Ty delandria go in the top 15 there were other players available that were highly touted like Joel faraby taken right after you had Gregory Denis senko who admittedly has not been too great himself but some of these other guys that were taken kandre Miller Jacob Bernard docker I mean honestly after Noah Dobson there hasn’t really been like a superstar player other than Joel farbe if you really wanted to say that so Tai delandria going right in the mix of things I mean a lot of these guys have been pretty good so this was always seen as one of the more questionable pickups from that 2018 draft but right away after the 2018 season Ty delandria started to do pretty well with the Flint Firebirds in the OHL he boosted himself up as the captain the team was really bad he then had a really great season the next year getting 70 points in 47 games played and then slowly but surely became a Texas Star he was great in Texas 50 points 68 games played last year he had 28 points in 82 games with the Dallas Stars but this season he only had nine points 42 games played he declined a little bit and his ice time diminished as well so for Ty delandria this is a really big opportunity for a guy that was a highly touted top prospect his contract expires at the end of the season so he does need an extension but when it comes to delandria going over to San Jose this could be the opportunity that he needs to get his foot back in the right shoe and start producing points again this article goes out there and talks about it how it is a fresh start for the 23-year-old delandria who was selected by Dallas 13th overall he had spent the season in and out of the lineup after facing increased competition from some veteran free agent signings losing ice time to players like Craig Smith and Sam steel he was limited to 42 games this season after dressing in all 82 regular games last year even when in the lineup though delandria struggled to have much of an effect averaging 1240 per game down from the 1412 he had in 222 23 he was limited to two goals and 9 points with a minus 10 rating he also didn’t play a regular role in the postseason scoring once while only playing in six of Dallas’s 19 playoff games this isn’t a cerated move through the stars as delandra wouldn’t have cost much to resign however it does free up some roster space and makes retaining the 25-year-old Sam steel who had 24 points much easier to do it also opens up more flexibility for AHL rookie standers Maverick Bor and Logan stankoven to claim spots in the opening night lineup now when it comes to San Jose of course they’ll be giving delandria a little bit more of a spot hopefully this allows the younger guy to mesh in well a little bit more I mean there are some other younger players in San Jose zetland is one that comes to mind he was awesome this previous season William Eckland we’ll see what Macklin celebrini can do honestly with this lineup of guys goodro Dandrea celebrini those aren’t nobody ads and I do like what the potential fits here could be for the San Jose Sharks in that bay area but of course as we had indicated barklay goodro was also acquired by this same San Jose Sharks team let’s go out there and read this article the sharks have claimed barklay goodro from the New York Rangers this was not really too surprising I mean barklay goodro placed on waivers yesterday $3.6 million a year till the end of 2027 that is a lot of money for a guy who was 31 years old and who had only scored 12 points in this most recent season he had declined pretty heavily honestly back-to-back 30p Point campaigns with the Rangers his dollar amount was not the worst thing in the world if he’s getting this amount of points but once he declines once he becomes ineffective that’s when you start to pull the plug and I mean he had eight points in 16 games in the playoffs six goals but as we had been talking about this entire time a lot of Rangers did not show off all too well especially in the second half of that playoff run barklay goodro had two goals in a game against the Florida Panthers in that 5-4 win so he was kind of pulling his weight for a moment but unfortunately it was not enough and with the cap hit you had the Rangers put him on waivers yesterday for the San J sharks they are literally getting themselves a guy that they have experience with he had a whole bunch of points with them in the past few years and the best part is when he was a productive player when he helped the San Jose Sharks go far in the playoffs multiple years in a row this is when they traded him for a pretty solid package from the Tampa Bay Lightning I think it was two first round picks is that what it was San Jose to Tampa Bay oh I like the sound of that Tampa Bay San Jose bolts s their 2020 first round pick and Anthony Grio to San Jose okay there you go so a first and a third I think there was another trade in there that was also pretty big but still lots of stuff going out here for barlay goodro if he’s going over to San Jose once more this veteran forward will get himself some higher ice time he’ll probably get a lot more points and best case scenario if he gets like 30 35 maybe even 40 points in a season next year heck maybe even 45 if he’s on San Jose and he gets all the ice time I wouldn’t doubt it honestly if he gets like 45 points next season then he could get traded at 50% salary retained to some other team at the trade deadline this could be a really good acquisition to flip a good investment here especially when you consider that the San Jose Sharks are going to have pretty much everybody rotating around the top of the lineup considering the status of the talent on that team let’s go out there and read the article posted here on Pro Hockey rumors.com gdo officially returns to where his NHL career began as an undrafted free agent signing back in 2014 he developed into a solid trekking Center Winger over the course of the next 6 years in the Bay Area eventually Landing with the lightning via trade in 2020 and playing an important third line role in their back-to-back Stanley Cup championships oh yeah that’s right he is a two time Stanley Cup champ and that certainly should not be discounted over there he played on both the cup winning teams a what a great pickup the Toronto native parlayed into a 6year $21 million deal with the Rangers in 2021 one that hasn’t really aged particularly well costing 3.64 2 million against the cap he had just four points four goals excuse me and 12 points in 80 games in the regular season while G repared his value in the postseason tying six goals his CIT had become affordable for a team in the peak of its contention window looking to make significant additions this summer he’s never been able to match the two-way impact he had with the lightning in New York but he did at least contribute a respectable 30 plus points in each of his first two seasons a major reason for his offensive decline was his deployment Under head coach Peter laviolet who decreased his offensive zone share start rate at even strength from 42% through about 23.5% wow that is a big stat to go out there and pull for an article over here I’m impressed in 2324 rarely getting him opportunities to contribute on the score sheet the Rangers forward with the second most bearish offensive deployment Jimmy VC had 30.9% of his inzone starts at even strength come in the offensive end so barklay goodro did not get any offensive zone time that’s a very particular part about his game and his deployment and his numbers so if he gets a lot more let’s say 40 50% in San Jose then this could go from 12 to maybe 30 or 40 points even there’s a lot of opportunity here for goodro to invent himself with the sharks once more so let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about these two guys heading over to San Jose TI delandria pretty much a bust Draft pick from the Dallas Stars this was a 13th overall pick gone Rogue who was never able to live up to those expectations and who is now getting sent over to San Jose to reinvent his career barklay goodro waiver wire pickup lots of movement going around in the NHL today we still got to make a video about the signings because there were a few more to go out there and pay attention to but either way let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about Ty delandria and barlay goodro I hope hope you enjoyed this wiish as99 links will be in the description if you want to go ahead and read both of these articles on Pro Hockey rumors.com they’re very good ones published by Josh Ericson both of them by the way and bye
