Brewers vs. Angels Game Highlights (6/19/24) | MLB Highlights

Tyler Anderson Sprints to the mound to get it going tonight he is always running out there as quick as possible even between Innings when he’s starting to game he’s out there well before anybody else is he just loves to compete and he’s been competing extremely well this season with a 2.58 ER four pitches and the leadoff man is aboard William conteras their everyday catcher is back in the DH roll his second straight game conteras on the ground nice play over there third by Reno and the throw is up the line not in time conteras beats sha ell’s foot to the bag excellent play to get it in his glove Reno couldn’t dial up the throw however so the second walk of the inning loads the bases oskins probably going to try to lift one here to the Outfield see how far he can hit it Hoskins turns on one that’s going to be plenty deep hits a bullet to left in Ward Ortiz will tag and score and the Brewers strike first here tonight on AR Hoskins sack fly in an RV Tyler Anderson you can escape this with just a one run allow you feel pretty good because you didn’t have to quite the command although four swinging misses in the first inning next pitch lifted in the air down the right field side chasing in foul ground sliding and making the grab on that one is polar and that is how the inning will end long run for Polar never gave up on it and went sliding across the foul line fast ball Freddy trying to get on track here he has had a few rough starts including his last start where he allowed 10 hits to the Reds and let’s see if Peralta can start to dial it in for the rest of the summer the Brewers need him shell falls down as he was getting out of the batter’s box and hopefully he’s okay just kind of got tripped up over his own feet I guess seems fine as he grounds out to the second [Music] Bas Ward goes out to right chero couple of steps in makes the catch and it’s a quick and easy 13 pitch first for Freddy Peralta and now Jackson cherio hits his Mad Dash around the bases yesterday oh cherio hits a bullet right past a diving Netto Jackson Cheerio turn that one around in a hurry there goes the runner headed for second base a throw and it is in time Matt di throws out a base stealer for the first time this year he guns down the Speedy teria he wants to get it checked he thought maybe avoided the tag but the throw was perfect right at the base runner sliding in there here’s Logan ohappy who is the designated hitter tonight Peralta deals and a swinging a Miss went up the ladder with a fast ball so Peralta living up to his nickname fast ball Freddy picks up his first strikeout and a little half swing he got him went back to the change up and Peralta strikes him out had to work for it back back to back CS though two men are out here in the second inning yeah took nine pitches here’s Peralta and he struck him out through a change up on the outside corner and he ends up striking out the side yeled hits a bullet to right that is down a base hit Yelich thinking about two he’s on his way and the throw from par on a couple of hops Yelich is in there a hustle double for Christian Yelich man he was flying around the bags picks up a two two out double here in the third inning no doubt in his mind he was going for two two on Anderson has walked three in the game now and it’s going to give ree Hoskins another chance and there’s an 02 fast ball at 91 chased and missed and Hoskins strikes out and certainly Anderson’s strategy seems to have won out as well they leave a pair on skips past Sanchez and Easley moving up to second base will be Taylor Ward one out here’s oh struck out his first time against peralto fan four ohappy chases a high fast ball and he is gone Freddy Peralta has pitched oh hoppy well he has stayed up there with a fast ball and he has struck him out twice two two pitch swinging a Miss fast ball at 96 that time from Freddy Peralta and after giving up the lead off single and having a runner at second with nobody out Peralta gets tough retires the next three here’s Ren heo stepping up there have been a lot of easy outs in this ball game both pitchers are pitching well this is a good oldfashioned pitchers duel tonight diving play by Ortiz can he make the throw not in time it gets away as Ortiz made an incredible play to his left but could not find the handle on the baseball I have no idea how he even caught that baseball you’re in a Hot Corner you’re playing in it’s still 0 and two and there’s a weak swing and a miss for strike three hey Bach was called so that will not the pitch will not count and Luis rifo will be awarded second base on a b technically you cannot argue a walk let’s see what he did on this one at all well Pat Murphy’s going toward the first base umpire I think it’s the second base umpire who called it yeah he definitely came to a stop I I I don’t see anything though and a swing at a Miss Peralta nasty slider in the dirt drops Ward to a knee picks up strike out number eight well we thought we had the strike out on the ball comes back takes eight pitches but finally gets it on the slider down two and two now barala has the runner caught he threw it into center field rifo goes to Third Base poar to Second rifo was dead the rights and Freddy Peralta chucked it into the Outfield boy he had him was a timing play a perfectly executed timing play but the throw was not there what a break for the angels and now two men inore scoring position for Logan ohappy two balls two strikes two outs two in scoring position here it is and a ground ball towards the middle terang has it right behind the bag throws to First in time and the inning is over Freddy Peralta gets the job done six scoreless Innings from the Brewers Ace still one- nothing Brewers We Begin the seventh South Relic is the batter strike three call to fre and that’s 11 straight retired by Tyler Anderson two and two on Sanchez fine sharply goret can’t pick it as good as those hands are that’s a rocket that’ll be a base hit for Sanchez and that snaps 11 in a row for Tyler Anderson fly to Right Center hit well after it is monc in the Gap out toward the warning track makes the running catch tends to taking away a run that ball was hit hard right center field Glides underneath it before he runs into the wall two outs for Bryce terang terang lifts a Fly ball to left field Taylor Ward backs up a bit he’s there he makes the catch Tyler Anderson seven more Allstar Innings here tonight here’s Willie Adamas he’s walked twice and flyed the left base open at first and now Adamas a broken bat little flare left field that’s going to bounce Fair Yelich will score and Willie Adamas picks up a big stake it’s a broken bat RBI single makes it two to nothing Brewers in the eighth that bat died a hero that was the first plate appearance by Brewer in Runners with scoring position since the third inning and there’s a crack of the bat but it falls Miguel with 14 saves he got one last night came in to face Ward got a robbed home run from South felic but listen it’s going to be 98 plus angels are down to their final out it’s a Fly ball to right this is going to end the ball game as th flies out McGill shuts the door quickly three up three down ninth inning the Brewers win two out of three from the Angels they pick up a shut out tonight

  1. If I remember the announcers from yesterday's game correctly–they were talking about avoiding it in the 9th–this is the first time the Angels have been shut out at home all year.

  2. This was probably one of the worst games I've seen this season, most games we have to win a home run derby, especially at home, we can bring 6 or 8 runs across and still have to rally after the 7th, now the one time we get a dominant start, we're swinging noodles at the plate. I don't even know what the plan could be at the trade deadline, we need pitching but we'll probably sign outfielders again.
