in uh what is a busy start to the offseason even though the offseason hasn’t started yet the sharks made a couple moves and we are going to talk about them now it’s teal Town [Music] live but of can start with the trade right because that’s what happened first chronological orders um tidel Andrea comes over for a 2025 fourth round pick from the Dallas Stars tidal Andrea former first uh first round pick um I think he’s a guy who Dallas fans seem to like like Dallas Dallas fans aren’t super happy with this move um I know the number numbers for delandria aren’t that sexy um to me I don’t know man like this is either going to turn out to be like this this is gonna go one of two ways this is GNA be clim C who I think early Returns on have been pretty good for a guy that maybe didn’t get a much fan for coming in or is he Oscar Lindblom AJ no to me you know what it’s it’s it’s still all found money if you you know go by way of the tree cuz to me the the Sharks today completed a trade uh acont for D delandria it was aymont claim from Winnipeg traded to Tampa for nestic off sharks trade nestic COV for this pick that becomes delandria yeah so again it’s all found money for me and uh look if if the sharks can find those nice little Rehabilitation pieces that I mean and you nailed it it could be cting could be lindbom how how um how long does Dandrea have on his deal he’s an RFA yeah right yeah so they have to give him a new contract he’s uh he’s an arbitration I mean you could right twoyear show me deal I mean that would go ahead s Jo I I kind I I really like this move I don’t think there’s really a down I mean there is a downsize but there’s not really a downsize you’re taking a shot he’s turning 24 I believe in a month M um I think a change of scenery is always kind might be what he needs it might be you know the perfect thing he’ll probably plan on your like third line or whatnot really good move for the sharks at what they gave up I’m not mad about it like this is a good move for the Sharks and I really like Ty delandria and I think a change of scenery could probably help him let me ask you this is this like a decent comparison to like leank I feel like like return on investment yeah I mean I think the contract he’s gonna get from Mike Greer I think you would like like the problem with Kevin leank wasn’t just like his wasn’t just his production like his contract was his contract was aw terrible right I feel like what he’s probably gonna get from Mike Greer like you said I think a two-year Deal’s probably what’s going to happen that seems to be Mike’s emo so far every time he brings a guy in that’s kind of like a let’s see if this can work out dude they just want to tie everything to vlasic’s retirement no literally that’s literally what they’re doing it’s really funny yeah like I I think it’s fine like I think for I think he’s probably GNA get a two-year deal um and then I but I feel like at the money he’s going to get I think it’s going to be fine I think it’s going to be a situation where even if it doesn’t work out you’re not as angry as you are whereas leank was making almost five million I don’t think that’s going to be the case here right this is probably going to be a twoyear million and a half $2 million tops and at that price like it’s fine it’s fine not to mention the cap going up you know correct Cap’s going up and the sharks have a way too much cap space as we’ve learned today to play with so you know I it’s a good bet on a young guy he probably gets a shot probably in the he might get a shot in the top six probably not though but I feel like he’s a middle six guy like I feel like he’s going to settle into like he’s he’s either going to be on your third or second line yeah um I also go to the to the point of and this is kind of a similar to last year Greer’s just going to bring in guys and he just wants to see compete yeah and you know and whoever gets the job gets the job and if you didn’t well you know if you couldn’t crack this lineup how much do you suck I want like some skill at least up front to play with sbini and Smith so I wouldn’t be shocked if they go out and maybe just not acquire just based off compete if that makes sense like I a guy will keep going back to like turbo don’t be surprised if they overpay the [ __ ] for him but like yeah just if you can’t Croc the shark’s lineup Hell call it uh call it even and and uh oh crap who’s the guy from Detroit that that they picked up last year C that was ctin no no I thought there was another who am I thinking of oh ziden that’s the one yeah where it’s like worst worst case is Lind bom best case is clim Shady middle of the like if delandria does zida yeah you know you’re like okay fine and for two years it you know at a relatively small figure so be it the sharks have like have no forward sign PL like until in like 26 the only two guys they have right now are Barkley goodro Will Smith and like Logan CER so like listen this is fine I think it’s fine I think the only thing that I think concerns me a little bit is like if you’re bringing in a guy like Will Smith and you’re bring celebr I think there’s been a lot of talk about like bringing in more veteran guys yeah and tial Andre doesn’t really fit that bill either so it’s like it’s another younger guy obviously now now he’s a guy who has a bunch of NHL games under his belt so it’s not like he’s it’s like all rookies all the time yeah but it it is it is an interesting move given that a lot of people think that the Sharks do need to bring in a little more veteran presence and again tial landre has a bunch of NHL games under his belt so it’s not like he’s he’s a rookie by any stretch of the imagination but is he a Grizzle veteran I don’t know they can’t announce the the Ryan Reeves acquisition and can’t do that yeah no no no no the thing the I don’t know I I don’t mind it it’s a young guy but I think Greer showed today that he’s still going for those grizzled vets so yeah and you know it’s funny like I feel like Greer okay thinks outside the box on certain things but Jesus Christ if if it is not built into the DNA of the sharks that hey a former shark is available What’s it gonna take to get him it’s true you know I mean Jesus Christ Scott Hannon Brad Stewart Jeff freen uh sandis oaly I mean good Lord we love our former sharks we do goodro claimed off waivers from the New York Rangers well and I like the fact that some of the you know the announcements quote unquote announcements to today on certain Twitter accounts breaking and I’m like [ __ ] this was announced yesterday what are you talking about this was announced what’s funny is that a Greer and that GM from New York are really close buds so I have a weird feeling this is just a giant favor and the Sharks better get repaid for this giant favor that uh Greer has done for the new like like it better be the the biggest of future considerations if you get my meaning yeah I I I I wonder if we’re going to see like a a deal follow up here because I I I do agree right like normally I think this is what I think so the New York Rangers obviously they put Barkley good draw on waivers a lot of people like well why didn’t you trade for him and then pick up an asset to take on this contract and I think the answer is that Barkley goodro has a 15 team no trade list and the sharks are probably on it yeah but but goodro wave that he could wave it but he probably but he probably to yeah right I mean I mean how greedy can you be you won two cups courtesy of the Sharks still you probably don’t want to go to a team that’s probably going to finish dead last maybe second to last but like you know if I won two cups I don’t know that I would mind coming back to the team that gave me a shot that helped develop me to like you know help let’s let’s be honest in five years from now goodro is going to be like sitting next to um oh crap what’s the peas and carrots guy with hurdle the peas and carrots Guy come on how do we not know this when hurdle first came in he’s he’s he’s a development Scout he’s a scout for the Sharks now yeah yeah yeah oh not Spa um no he was a going to end up in Atlanta or you can take this trade to San Jose your call and right you look at Dan Bo seems like the best movie ever made absolutely but so I I mean so funny that both of those players it was with Tampa yeah so like with the with I I I just feel like they that he wouldn’t go to San Jose by choice yeah they’re like fine we’re going to put you on waivers and you’re going to go to San Jose anyway and that’s fine like I I don’t begrudge good Dr here because I think that if you negotiate a contract you shouldn’t have to wave a clause that you negotiated for although I mean he he makes stupid amount of money so I don’t know how he got a no trade and that much money like that I will never understand yeah I want to yeah who is his [ __ ] agent I want to know how call me up I would like to meet you yeah but you know what it is I was gonna say you know what it is he Goodrow you go back and look he was put out at certain times in those cup runs like pivotal moments towards the ends end of games in the playoffs so I think the Rangers are just kind of like we need that trustworthy presence I think that’s part of it I think the other part of it is is if you go back to the New York Rangers when they made the trade like almost everything Chris jury did that summary he’s had to undo this point yeah I think this is ownership meddling that said we need these guys and this is how things are going to be because Chris jury this was his first year of GM and you know uh James Dolan who is the owner was a big part of the reason why you know he basically came in he blew up the front office and I feel like this is a situation where James Dolan like came in and said this is what we’re doing I don’t care how much it costs I want this guy this guy this guy and Chris JY like a good GM said okay yep you’re you’re the boss you signed the checks that’s done but if you go and look at everything Chris JY did that summer this is the end of it he’s undone everything he did that summer yeah and still feels like a giant favor gre’s doing for New York and I’m just I’m really hoping it gets paid back like I’m fine with this to be honest like I’m I don’t really understand the overreaction sharks have a buttload of cap space they brought in a vet it feels also like a culture move in a way um bring in some winning um but it’s fine well Jules let me let me ask you this right now New York is challenging yay yeah you know they are they are going for it so I like this idea of the quote unquote future considerations where it’s like yeah let’s make this deal now that San Jose can eat this contract help New York out in their chaseburg cup and in five years when San Jose is you know finally flipped the switch on this whole thing and maybe New York is on the down you know yeah then we see this get paid back but this is uh I would say you have that virtual background you need to get like a little virtual corkboard jewels that just says like New York Rangers owe us one you know what I mean I’m really going to I will Photoshop that on there like for the whole season next year it’s gonna be we need to just have this running list so it’s it’s you know it was good road to the lightning for a first and Anthony Greco which was just you know a [ __ ] con that was a if I remember correctly they had to make that move to make the roster work right they had too many contracts but the Sharks turned that first rounder which was 31st overall into wise blat yeah and then they’re making this claim it’s like I don’t I don’t hate any of today so far this is really weird am I The Optimist among this uh to be fair I don’t hate it I just find it funny I don’t love it like I just I just don’t it’s a me it’s literally just the good I just don’t give a [ __ ] well that too but like the delandria move is like good but like the goodro it’s just met like I’m not going to sit here and overreact pretending like Greer needs to be fired as like say on Twitter like you don’t know what you’re talking about lovingly put but like it’s me it’s fine great we have good show it’ll help the culture you know what this is ruining our podcast numbers because we’re supposed to go oh [ __ ] the sky is falling you know every Mo that’s Ian that typically does that so the fact that we’re just kind of like ah you know what that’s fine I understand it everybody’s going I don’t want to watch this I get it but yeah but I get it though right like I’d love to come on here and just like have like just a super angry to V it but I I I understand what they did I understand why they did it I I I agree like helping the Rangers like this like GMS do this [ __ ] all the time though like how many times has a GM bailed Vegas out of just some [ __ ] yeah that now we’re gonna get mad that the Sharks the sharks are doing the same thing but the sharks are doing the same thing but here’s here’s the thing right like but you’re so you’re helping the Rangers but the Rangers are in the Eastern Conference they the Rangers have so little impact what the Rangers do their success it has so little impact on the Sharks we’re not competing with them for a playoff spot we’re not you know what I mean like well but I hate that argument where it’s oh you don’t want to trade inivision or whatever blah blah blah and it’s like look if you if if there was some deal worked out between the Sharks and Edmonton or oh I can’t believe the sharks are making Edmonton better it’s like the sharks aren’t in the [ __ ] playoffs who gives a [ __ ] but I could see that argument like I could see I I think you could get a little angry though like if you’re helping like if if we took Pier Luke duah from La like do I like that no yeah you know what I mean like that I don’t I can see like like I can see that argument if it’s a team that you are technically I mean the sharks aren’t competing for [ __ ] right now but technically the LA Kings are you know competition for a playoff spot because it’s divisional playoffs they’re in our division but does San Jose have a Darcy keer on their roster you know what I mean tech vage Jack yeah I I I am curious to see what rovski chooses the lines for this team because there’s a good chance we have a line of Ty delandria Barkley goodro and Luke cunan mind you the Sharks already have a Barkley goodro at home and it’s called Luke cunan so we’re just gonna have luk cunan yeah like that’s the thing too like it’s gonna be interesting because I think Luke cunan I think the Sharks love luk cunan I think he’s gonna be back he’s gonna get way too much money but he’s probably gonna get much money it’s gonna be really weird to see the end of the like Barkley goodro career was like like the three years with the Cuda and then he’s got that that stretch with obviously I think that’s the other thing too is the ESPN owning I think they had the rights to both the NBA and NHL finals which means they’re obviously going to want consideration there made by the 10 protected first rounder and Kevin Ball defenseman uh and New Jersey Jacob markstrom uh so I think the devils are going to be a lot of fun next year I think they’re gonna bee Meer finds out where the net is yeah no literally I don’t I Teo Meer was playing with one arm and still still almost scored 30 goals last year so I think if he’s healthy I think he’s gonna he he did have a much better a guy like kachuck wanting out like this is how like I just I feel bad for them because I don’t think it’s a situation where I don’t think like I don’t think Brad tree living is an amazing general manager don’t get me wrong but lot of this isn’t his fault it’ll it’ll all change once they get the new Arena bu right I just I just think it’s I think it sucks for Kary fans right because I think they they did draft decently uh they had players but then they ended up wanting out and obviously that sucks and that’s a situation that we obviously we hope that we’re not looking at the sharks in like six years where you know they drafted a bunch of guys and then they won out because that would that kind of you know you have to rebuild again and I think that’s unfortunate um you know what but obviously with Calgary being where they are I mean markstrom it didn’t make sense to keep them go Stampede yeah there you go go Stampede um I don’t know I mean so I mean Calgary obviously like they’re they’re gonna have to start tearing it down again I think this is a big part of that um well I mean it’ll go in line they can tear down the team at the same time they’re tearing down the old arena that’s right it’s fine there you go there you go and then uh the other trade uh was uh pure look du to the Washington Capitals for Darcy keer uh one for one no retain salary no nothing I mean oh Sarah Valley just tweeting out time was of the essence for the LA Kings D would have had total control of his future with a full no move kicking in 12 days from now as is and if the Stanley Cup Final went to game seven which right now I don’t put that out of the realm of possibility they would have lost right to buy him out for onethird this is a much better circumstance for the Kings I think for for Rob Blake I think like Darcy keer I don’t is Darcy keer really an upgrade over anything they have in net there I don’t know I feel like it’s still pretty still pretty on the level but it peruke W didn’t work out for them um and I think Rob Blake I think has gotten a lot of flowers uh for his work in La since he’s taken over um this was the one black mark against him and I think that he kind of he gets out of it you know he kind of salvages it and I think that’s not a I think for La it’s it’s a great move like you said P Luke DUIs is gonna have his rights uh to have the right to basically determine where he goes uh July 1st so um it’ll it be interesting to see what Washington wa Washington’s an interesting team because I think Washington they’re going to go for it as long as oetkin is
