  1. These games have sucked, but some of these issues were bound to happen like the bullpen and Rea. And at least they got more hits with runners in scoring position even if they stranded a ton.

However the main issues is Contreras. He was so incredible but the past 30 games he’s putting up 2023 Turang numbers. His finger issue has to be worse than we all know because the fall off is massive before he was getting tons of XBH hits and putting the ball all over but now it’s mostly strikeouts, grounds, and the only hits he can get are opposite field singles.

The team is still in a good spot because they play better at home and vs the division, but these two games vs the Padres they have exposed the team’s weaknesses well.

  2. Big ouch. A good lineup like this is absolutely exposing this pitching rotation so far.

It is what it is. Just too many injuries and no other available talent. But this bodes really poorly for October. Let’s just try enjoying the ride I guess

  3. Well, we’ve gotten Brewer’d two different ways so far:

game one was a clusterfuck undone by among other things shoddy play and inconceivable umpiring, a familiar feeling

game two we got the starter out with the lead and the friars ground down our pitching in the second half, like we do so often to others.

I am ready for the next phase where we put up double digits and force a opposing position player to pitch

  4. Lucky for us the Priests defense is abysmal. Its too bad our pitching staff was somehow worse.

For those that got to watch were we tipping our pitches? Maybe the Padres engaging in an elaborate sign stealing scheme? If not it isn’t fun to see the version you were afraid of seeing when Burnes was traded!

BTW our staff had two, COUNT EM, 2 strikeouts which is unnaturally bad!

  5. Launch Milner into the sun. Last 5 innings, 11 hits, 9 earned runs, 2.4 WHIP.

  6. These games have been sloppy defensively and the pitching has not been up to par. Milner has been worse than usual. Peguero seems a bit off. Koenig, well, he was due for a bad outing as he’s been used often. Rae was also due for a bad outing. But there were some defensive oddities tonight along with the poor pitching, and that’s why we lost. Yes, their last pitcher was excellent. But my goodness, it shouldn’t have gotten to that.

The only thing that went right for the Brewers in this game was that they won three challenges. Everything else…meh.
