  1. Every year theres alway 1 or 2 teams that have your number. The padres definitely have ours.

  2. Shout out Turang, Ortiz, and Black.

But everyone else not so much. We need a 5th starter and need Contreras to be better. His OPS is officially below .800 which is crazy because on June 1st it was .896.

  3. Not going to react toooooo strongly to one shitty west coast series against a decent Padres team, but this has been really rough, to say the least. Our biggest issues – SP strength (and resulting heavy reliance on a good but unproven reliever group), clutch hitting (as of late anyway), and inconsistent offense have all been on full display in very frustrating fashion.

Still, yet again we have more than our fair share of baserunners, and as much as I’m primed to believe the offense is gonna regress like it has multiple times in these last couple years, they keep getting on base. That counts for a lot. A bad offense would get entirely shut down far more often than this team – we don’t get shut down too often, we just lose in close and frustrating fashion.

Gotta figure Rodriguez and Junis swap roles In 5 days, Rodriguez has been genuinely great first time through the order in all three starts, then all three times the quality of contact skyrockets the second time around. It’s not like we have anything better for long relief/emergency starter depth in AAA (thanks 8.30 ERA Aaron Ashby), and Rodriguez’ potential is still sky high and I think he would benefit a lot from more big-league innings, preferable when we can pull him once he runs into trouble and he doesn’t have to push his way through these difficult 4th-5th innings.

Also Frelick has to start hitting balls harder than 70 goddamn miles per hour. Getting real hard to watch. Actually it’s been that way for awhile now.

  4. Was just browsing Nashville’s stats, anyone know anything about Chad Patrick? 7-1, 2.76 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 71 SO, 71 IP

  5. The doomers who have said the pitching will never hold up are starting to get ammunition. For me, a trade must be made if we are serious about this year. We have an abundance of young outfielders…

  6. Murphy needs the balls to sit Contreras.  Coming into todays game, over the last 30 games we were tied for last in MLB for homers.

Not a recipe for winning get behind by multiple runs with a bealeagured pitching staff, and possessing the offense with the 6th most strikeouts and the 6th worst slugging percentage in baseball. (Once again last 30 games)

If Willie doesn’t get right and we dont add a top of rotation starter at trade deadline, Brewers will wither away.

  7. If the Paders are fully healthy come the playoffs they are a problem. That’s a great roster.

  8. After the last three games, the Brewers are now 1-15 in games I’ve attended. I’m not going tomorrow, so a win seems likely
