CANUCKS TRADE OFFICIALLY IN PLACE: ILYA MIKHEYEV TO THE CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS PENDING APPROVAL

goodbye Mev you bum you absolute bum okay maybe that’s not like the most appropriate way to start out a video but man was this a long time in the making we had ourselves a few tweets going out there and talking about this Elliot fredman 42 minutes ago I’m hearing that Chicago and Vancouver are working on a deal that will create cap room for the Canucks potentially involving Elia mckv and the rights to Sam laferty with a second round pick as a Sweden now just 8 minutes after that we had ourselves Rick Dolly wall saying that Elia MV has not yet approved the trade to Chicago he has a no trade clause and Frank s then 7 minutes after that said Elia MV has not formally agreed to wave to go to the Blackhawks but provided he does teams have agreement in place on a trade to Chicago it is Elia mckv and a second round pick that in which was talked about from 2025 and pending UFA Sam laferty in exchange for a 2027 fourth round pick Patrick Alvine is Wheeling and dealing here folks he’s getting involved with Assets in the future who cares about the 2025 second round pick when the Vancouver kcks win the Stanley Cup in 2025 right nobody cares but all joking aside Vancouver is grasping and at straws here at finding ways to free up salary cap space using all the picks that they have available to them let’s go over to their cap friendly page rip cap friendly these are the last few days that this website will exist for the general public this year Vancouver does not have their first round pick it was traded away for Elias lindhome this year they don’t have their second round pick that was traded away back in the uh Jason Dickinson trade yeah that was the sweetener that Chicago got last time when the Vancouver Canucks got Stillman for Dickinson and that second so big blast to the Passover for the 2022 trade then you have yourselves the 2025 third round pick that the Canucks traded away on September 19th 2023 that was the Tanner Pearson Casey Des Smith Swap and then they don’t have their third in 2026 either that was traded away in the Nikita zadorov trade so Vancouver is finding ways to get rid of all of their top tier picks which is is honestly fine when you consider how good the team has played on paper and in practice but either way this is yet another one of these draft picks 2025 second round pick reportedly that is getting sent over to Chicago in exchange for that 2027 fourth so 2027 doesn’t even show up on the cap friendly page because it’s too far into the future but the Vancouver connects will get themselves an extra fourth assuming this trade goes through and assuming Elia mckv waves his no trade protection now at this point with the way everything is going there’s no way he’s not going to wave right there’s no way we have seen this with Russian players in the past that there’s a pretty big pride thing attached to being forced to wave and being asked to wave Andre kusenko had Calgary on his no trade list but guess what he waved why did he wave because it would have been embarrassing not to everybody was talking about ausenco trade everybody knew that he was going to find his way out somehow everybody knew that Rick tett didn’t Vibe with his game everybody knew that the writing was on the wall so when the Canucks presented kzco hey we have a trade in place but it’s a Calgary you don’t have Calgary on your availability list will you wave so we can get this trade done kzo said yeah sure like I’ll wave I’ll kind of not exercise my right to stay where I am because this entire situation has gotten so embarrassing and it would be very bad in the public eye to stick around with this team after having all of the trouble caused to them by me and my contract like obviously if Elia MF decides not to wave that is totally within his right he has the ability to do that it’s fair if he decides to do that but is that the expectation honestly I would be very surprised if he did not get traded at this point who else is going out there and defending Elia MAV at this point sure it’s within his right but how embarrassing would it be for him to come back for the next two seasons as a member of this Vancouver conu team after the news had broken out that there was already a trade in place and that he could have gotten traded Lou Ericson is still not living it down when he got traded to the Oilers but he said no that was a trade that a lot of Canucks fans were like are you serious come on bro like your contract is holding us down us we’re not a part of the team but they’re holding the team down you’re not playing well the only way this team can progress forward is if they move on for your contract and this Mev thing is an opportunity for the con to do that with this player rather than Louis Erikson like we had talked about a few years ago so Chicago what exactly is it that you’re getting in MV and or a Sam lafy well you’re getting speed at the very least I will say for Elia mckv after the injuries that he had sustained the past few years the speed wasn’t really as good as it could have been also there was the entire idea floating around saying that mckv was not the best healthwise this previous season therefore he could be debated to be bouncing back more next season as well I will say if mckv plays with Bard you find a way to get that duo going for some reason then does he go out there and produce more points I don’t know I was going to say that mckv and Bard would be an interesting combination the speed the shot from Bard and the two-way ability out of mckv but at the same time I mean mckv was playing with Pon the entire year this previous season and he still didn’t do anything in fact peton got worse so if mckv ends up playing the entire 24 25 season with Bard assuming he of course accepts this trade to Chicago then what like is he going to bring Bard down too oh boy that’s going to be really bad Elia MF destroying the Youth of today but either way he’s a speedy guy he can play well in the penalty kill we had seen last time with that Jason Dickinson trade to Chicago back in 2022 Dickinson became amazing with the Chicago Blackhawks I think the guy had like 20 goals or whatever on this season which was totally something that he could not have attained with the Vancouver Canucks as a third line Center yeah 20 goals 35 points in 82 games played this most recent year he was so good with the Chicago Blackhawks Elia mckv is destined to doing the exact same thing right you know he’s going to get sent over to Chicago and he’s going to put up a 450 Point Season with 20 goals and 20s something assists he’s going to be amazing bedard’s going to have a career year and everybody in Vancouver is going to be like yeah okay fantastic good for you Elia Mev why could you not have done that with Alias Pon and then for Sam lafy middle the bottom six guy I believe he was a Blackhawk oh no he wasn’t he was a Pittsburgh P oh yeah he was a Blackhawk yeah Chicago and then Toronto and then Vancouver so if the Blackhawks are getting the rights to laf FR back they have all the opportunity in the world here to give lafy as much money as he wants we know that the cap floor does exist there is a minimum spending requirement for NHL teams so getting on a huge contract like Elia mckv 4.75 mil till the end of 2526 and and then signing lafy to whatever the heck he wants that’s going to be a really good move for Chicago to be able to break down their salary cap structure and make it work so let me know your thoughts in the comments section below about this reported trade by Frank SRA the trade is in place let’s just say that trade is in place it’s not official yet Ilia M has not formally agreed to wave but as of right now we do have this trade on T it is available with the Press of a button with a phone call with an Elia M decision he will be Chicago bound let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about this trade thank you Chicago for taking on the Vancouver conect scraps but I hope you enjoyed this V r99 and bye
