Yankees vs. Mets Game Highlights (6/26/24) | MLB Highlights

Shan manah will go for the Mets tonight he has put together two good starts in a row he has uh five and a third Innings against Texas he’s going to have to be at his best and during this time without Diaz maybe asked to go a little deeper into the game which has not been his strength so far this year buul hits it sharply Vientos with a diving stop gets up one hop throws it with the stretch he got it what a way to start the night terrific play on both ends by Vientos and Alonzo and they get both oh that had a leadoff double written all over it and Vientos continues to shine with the glove so Mania issues back-to-back walks to the two big guns stto and judge so here is JD Davis 10 days ago released by the Oakland Athletics tonight hitting clean up for the New York Yankees three straight walks to load the bases and bring up Alex Verdugo and Verdugo bits one to Second Chance for two mcneel D door back to First just in time double play side retired manah pulls a Peterson and gets out of the first inning unscathed now right-hander Luis heels going to try and get back on the horse enters with a 9-2 record throws 97 Plus milph Electric fast ball with a power change that’s ripped in the right field and Lor got another lead off hit that’ll go back to the wall the G Falls in at second base for the second straight night he’s L off the game with a double his 22nd double of the Year and that will bring Brandon nmo and his 10 game hitting streak to the plate and he hits one sharply on the right side Lindor had to hold and Cabrera throws out nmo that’s an odd Play here’s JD Martinez inside Martinez gets drilled and the Mets have two men on so here’s Pete Alonzo Right Center judge makes the catch Lor stays put throw comes in the vulpi two outs a double a hit by pitch and a walk and the Mets up loaded with two down so Taylor will get the exact same opportunity tonight popped up trino says I have it and he does and that’ll do it so both teams leave him loaded in the first inning no manah after throwing 36 pitches in the first two innings requires only four to get the first two outs in the third and he goes upstairs to strike out stto first one two three inning for manah second strike out in the 1,000th of his career Second Time Around the batting order for Luis heel only hit for the Mets was Francisco lindor’s lead off double in the first and smacked to right field back goes SoDo it’s going to be over his head and off the base of the wall and Lor’s got himself another extra base hit boy what a difference that leadoff spot is for Francisco Demo’s on with the walk and JD Martinez stands in and Martinez Loops one in the shallow right base hit Lindor being waved home no thrown of a plate by stto in the m let Take the Lead JD Martinez just dumping one into shallow right to drive in the first run of the game and it’s one- nothing Mets change up got in on him a little bit he just muscled it out in the right field Thor good read well still more on the bone here for the Mets here’s Alonzo ground ball to short there’s one on the first it’s a double play nmo moves to Third and now it’s up to Alvarez here to try to bring in nmo from third Alvarez rups one out to right sto going back it’s over his head and it’s out of here Francisco Alvarez goes the other way for a two-run homer number four for Alvarez and it’s three nothing Mets a laser beam to right for Alvarez much like the one viento said last night the Baby Mets growing up Aon judge will lead off against Shawn manah hit sharply and through for base hit judge with a little ho home 111 mph single through the left side and a walk again to Davis so first and second for the Yankees nobody out here in the fourth inning so here is Alex Verdugo he banged into a double play with the bases loaded one out in the first and a ground ball another chance for two Lindor with a step and fire and from the third time in four Innings manah gets a double play ball second time from Verdugo two out again judge it third for lameu and for and lameu flies one out to Center Vader has room and catches a door one away and that retires the side so the second walk of the inning and the fourth of the night for heel and Alvarez will come up with two men on Alvarez flies one toward the right field Corner overcomes SoDo on the warning track is over his head n around third he’s going to be wav home relay thrown to the plate by Cabrera not in time it’s an RBI double for Francisco Alvarez is Third Run batted end of the night and the Mets L it four to nothing you know I said it last night is playing a shallow right field sure is he’s been a liability out there you wonder why they want to play him in the deepest Corner Outfield position in this ballpark Yankee Stadium yes but that’s a Fly ball that’s got to be caught so now the infield has to come in second and third one out Tyrone Taylor the batter here comes with a 4 nothing lead as it starts to rain remember that it is already an official game with the home team leading in the bottom of the fifth and Lance bark still is going to stop it right here rain came very very hard very quickly and they know that there’s a cell that’s going to be here for a little while so they’re going to waste no time covering the field I think it’s time to play some baseball now ball four and that loads him up and now Vientos who homered twice last night and it’s inside ball four and that forces in a run wow stayed with the slider second straight walk issued by Gomez Alonzo comes in to score to make it five nothing met that’s a big El stinko a here’s mcneel left hand better and mcneel lcks one out to right that’ll get a run in Soo back to grab it Alvarez tags he’ll come in to score Jeff mcneel with a sacrifice fly to make it six nothing met so three runs home for the Mets in this bottom of the fifth it’s taking more than an hour and a half to play now Harrison Bader who’s 0 for two will be the hitter and Bader cracks one down the right field line back toward the corter go Soto he won’t get there and it hits the base of the wall Taylor is in viento stopped to third Bader with an opposite field RBI double seven to nothing Mets an hour and 27 minute rain delay cannot slow down this Mets Express Juggernaut and he stayed away with a fast ball didn’t even think about coming in Bader after seeing all the pitches sliders was looking away very wise hitting lead off walk here in the six a good spot for him Yankees down 9-1 yesterday and made it 97 now they’re down 7 nothing drill deep to left there it goes seea 30th home r of the air for judge Yankees on the board it’s 72 starting to remind you of a couple years ago I mean I think he’s pretty much on the same Pace it’s just unbelievable what this guy is doing day in and day out the Mets have two on with two out so here’s Taylor who’s been hit by a pitch and walked one and one to Taylor and he cracks one to deep left field back goes for Dugo takes a look and it’s on of here Tyrone Taylor brings down the house with a three-run homer third home run of the air for Taylor and the Mets reassert themselves it’s 10 to two Harrison Bader leads off in the home seventh the1 Bader sends a high drive to left field Verdugo looks up it’s gone another New York Met home run Harrison Bader makes it 11-2 met with a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh inning so Runners at the corners one out Mark Vientos will be next and Vientos punches one the other way for a base hit that’ll bring in a run as Alonzo scores to make it 12 to two maps nowh to go young man don’t give away at bats look at that wide Gap right there oh jeez just so inviting well done Yankees down to their last out and a bouncing ball eaus charges and the ball game is over midnight comes 18 minutes early for the Yankees as the sweep the two game series bludgeoning the Yankees for the second straight night big night for Francisco Alvarez and the Mets beat the Yankees 12-2

  1. The Polar Panda.. Good for his usual 6-4-3 double play. I can predict it by now anytime this guy gets up with men on base. He swings at crap out of the strike zone. You think by now he would know the approach the opposing pitcher was taking. Pitching him on the outside of the plate so he can't pull the ball. And he never makes an adjustment to go the other way. So he rolls over everything he swings at.

  2. .500, yes, put it in the books. Alright, now this team's confidence is in high gear. There is nothing sweeter than beating the cross town rivals. I don't have cable and was forced to watch the game on Prime, and I can't stand the Yankees announcers. Bad enough, the rain delay came, and I had to go to work and watch the rest on my way in and at work. Hopefully, we can beat them in Yankee stadium and take the series, and win both of those games. The hitting is starting to arrive albeit bases loaded we couldn't score. The fact we stopped them in the 1st inning back to back games is amazing. Let's go, Mets!

  3. Looks like the real Yankees! Shaky pitching & shaky hitting! Love the Yanks but, this sh*t gotta stop soon! Judge & Soto can't hold the team up constantly, they need help, Pronto!

  4. I love how Keith always has constant praise for the Mets young players (Vientos Alvarez and even Baty) if Keith wasn’t in the booth full time I could absolutely see him being a hitting coach for the Mets. LGM!

  5. Could you imagine if Pete could catch Fire!! He is definitely OFF. He is chasing sliders way too much. Mc Neil is becoming expendable (despite that he plays a good second base and offers other utilities in the field). If we can get Senga back right after the All Star Break, we could be a real Contender and make for lots of fun during the summer.

  6. I'll give you one stat that says the Mets are playing on an unsustainable level. Lindor has a 901 OPS for the month of June. AND he's 9th on the team.

That being said, the Mets have turned this season around and should be able to carry this momentum forward and actually play above 500 in the second half. Not a small accomplishment considering where they were in May.

  7. dont understand why cross town rival series are 2 games. they should always be 3. what other series do u see the seats filled on a tuesday and wednesday?
