Joonas Korpisalo is staying in Boston | Free Agent Rumors

what’s up Bruins fans I’m here to give you the latest info on your beloved Boston Bruins today’s video I’m going to talk about the aftermath of the allmark trade Bruins Sonic goalie we got new uniforms for next year and Jeff Skinner is about to be an option for the Boston Bruins let’s get into [Applause] it well corpor Salo is here to stay as soon as the omark trade happened the fan base started weighing in on whether they like the deal or not I’ve had time to think about it and honestly I made the video directly after it so I’ve had more of time to like think about my immediate reaction I still don’t like to trade but I understand it now Dominic Tiano mentioned on what’s Bruin’s podcast that if allar signed an extension with the deal it would have looked totally different what that deal looked like we’ll never know we can assume it’s probably more in lines with the rumors that we were hearing all I was seeing with the fan base right after the allmark trade was everybody was jumping through hoops saying we’re going to trade corporo or we’re going to buy him out they didn’t really understand why they got him futu shinzawa his Source within the Boston Bruins front office says the team has no plans to buy a Corporal at this time corporal’s agent said to fluto corpy will play for the Boston so that tells me Goldie Bob is going to work his magic on corporo Bob asza is one of the best goalie coaches in the league is Corpus Salo the shiny piece in this trade no but he’s going to play and we’re going to have to see what he can do under Bob I think it’s a lot of cap to pay for a backup with some history of poor play but that’s my opinion he has played on some very bad teams and when he did play in LA which was a good team he played well I really want carper to be good and a capable backup but if it isn’t him cost to send him down to the miners or even to buy him out isn’t that big of a deal he’s a lowrisk acquisition and a high reward if he plays well the deal offers some cap flexibility which hopefully the Bruins can use to sign a center or two this summer now let’s talk about the fourth line Center Mark Castell now I don’t know if I’m saying that correctly I’m really trying to hear other people say it but that’s when I’m going to go cellic he’s a prototypical Boston Bruin and I think he will become a fan fragrant for his style and his play instantly he doesn’t back down from a fight he’s good on faceoffs he was a captain in junior so he has leadership qualities and his teammates have nothing but nice thing to say about him he has a minimal capit and Connor Ryan did a breakdown of him and here are some points from Connor and his article Castell does give Boston some of the coveted blend of speed and size that cam identified as missing element of the Bruins roster during the last season media availability in may obviously this game is fast and we’re not as fast as we’d like to be Neely acknowledged last month adding maybe a little faster and we’d like to see a little bit more 50/50 Puck battle wins that’s an area where we have to want the puck more than the other team Castell is a big body at 6’4 and 226 lb but also he has the wheels to land some welts on the four check last season in Ottawa Castell ranked third on the team in penalty minutes 63 and fourth in hits at 126 if the Bruins are looking to craft a checking unit featuring Young cost control Talent putting a physical forward like cellic on the same line as Johnny beer and Johnny brazzo offers up plenty of intrigue cellic is not going to hurt the Boston Bruins and we’ll add some sign to them with speed which is always a plus he isn’t the Home Run we all wanted but he helps our bottom six and provides some snarl the first round pick is what I’m really glad to see in this deal it used to be Boston’s from the bruzi deal but it helps reload that Prospect pool which has been dwindling over the years under Sweeney as he ships picks out every year to make a push for the playoff the draft is Friday so we’ll soon know who the Bruins take or if they trade it I will do a deep dive on the picks or if they do trade it two names I’m looking at right now are Dean lerno from St Andrew’s College who is a 67 Center who is Big skilled center with speed and Scouts are label him as a project so he could hit or be a huge miss the other player I had my eye on is Merrick vanacker who is a 61 Winger out of the CHL who was a slow start to his season last year but ended the year strong got 36 goals in 68 games with Bradford the OHL he looks to be a late bloomer with speed and skill that could be a steal at 25 with the allmark trade happening earlier this week in game seven of the Stanley Cup finals happening kudos to the Florida Panthers I wasn’t able to talk about the Bruins signing Brandon busy to one-year two-way contract extension according to nhl.com Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced on June 24th the team had signed goenda Brandon busy to a one-year two-way contract extension through 2024 25 season with a cap hit of 775 busy 25 appeared in 41 games with Providence in 2023 24 recording a record of 2310 and5 with a 2.67 goals against average and a 933 save percentage a 645 218 lb goenda in 78 career AHL games with Providence recording an overall record of 487 and9 with a 2.55 goals against average and a 918 save percentage the South Beach New York native was originally signed by Boston as a free agent in 2022 honestly I’m a little confused by this deal as it happens the day before they acquire Corpus Salo if busy doesn’t make the main club this year he will have to clear waivers to be sent to Providence so the Bruins could very well lose him obviously Sweeney knows what he’s doing but I have a gut feeling here he might get claimed on waivers his numbers last year in Providence were fantastic and a lot of us here in Bruins Land We all thought he was going to be the backup if they moved allmark the next story is the Boston Bruins kind of have a New Jersey well this will be a quick hit as Fanatics the New Jersey makers this year revealed what the Boston Bruin Jersey will look like this year they did a huge presentation on the internet about how it stitched so hopefully nothing like this will happen like it did with the MLB the Bruins will be returning to the jerseys from the 2223 season I personally would love to see them bring back the look from the late ‘ 80s early ’90s with the new Crest but it is rumored the brues will have New Jersey in 2025 so fingers crossed let me know in the comments though your favorite Bruins Jersey I talked about this earlier last week saying there was a possibility of Jeff Skinner being bought out well the hockey news is now reporting that according to multiple reports including one from Chad damic of expected Buffalo the Sabres are going to be buying out Skinner the former carer Trophy winner had three more seasons on his current contract which carried an annual cap hit of 9 million the now 32-year-old Winger is coming off a 24g goal season where he averag 16 minutes a game and record recorded over 200 shots for the third consecutive season I’ve spoken about Skinner before as I think he’ be the perfect addition to the Bruins this offseason Skinner is a goal scorer and his 24 goals last season would have ranked him fourth on the team in goals with the rumors that debrusk and the Boston Bruins can’t really see ey to eye on a contract Skinner could be a cheaper option and still provide the offensive punch the Bruns need Skinner being bought out means he would get 2.4 million until the conclusion of the 2930 season meaning any team that signs him won’t have to pay what a player like him is worth as he’s already receiving a considerable amount of money rates has him making around 6.3 million but given that he’s 32 and most likely will be looking somewhere in the $2.5 to $3 million range I wouldn’t be surprised if he only gets a short-term deal and a lower aav let me know in the comments if you’d want to sign Jeff Skinner or anybody else that’s been rumored to be going to the Boston Bruins to stay up to date on all the 1. Let's trade for one of the worst goalies in the league with a 3 million a year cap hit…just an aweful trade.

Just the the first round pick would have been better.

This trade makes the Bruins worse not better in the short term
