If that happens, probably will play a factor in Necas getting traded.

Bottom line, we absolutely need to keep one of Guentzel or Necas. We cannot afford to lose both. If we’re able to sign Jake then I think the odds of Necas getting traded go way, way up

I promised myself I’d stop looking at these posts and just wait for actual announcements. I’m very disappointed in me.
Going to need Tom and Eric to give the man what he wants so he can go buy a mcmansion in North Hills.
I’ll continue to post this every time I get a Jakey G might re-sign post.

So they have until the 30th, so this could stretch into the Weekend right?
The Canes let Guentzel shop the market already. The more news linking the Canes + Guentzel the better at this point. It means he couldn’t find a better deal elsewhere and is ready to sign for 8 years.
If we sign Guentzel, the minimum return for Necas should be what we gave Pittsburgh for Guentzel: a player the caliber of Bunting, a 1st round 2024 pick, and two prospects.
* Can’t finalize Necas trade until we see if 10oa is enough to get Berkly Catton * Can’t finalize Guentzel extension until Necas’ future is known
So of the deal breaks our way, all three signings should happen around 8:45pm tomorrow night.
