Commanders Rumors: New Report Indicates Brandon Aiyuk WILL NOT Be Traded + Sign This Free Agent WR?

[Music] today on the commander report there’s a new report out there that uh that puts the iuk trade rumors on ice here are the iuk trade rumors officially dead for the Washington commanders we’re going to answer that question on today’s edition of the commander report then we’ll get into a crazy Commander trade idea that would send Terry mclen outside of the commander organization I think it’s pretty crazy I’ll let you guys know my thought here in the middle of today’s show then make sure you guys stick around because we have a brand new potential wide receiver Target for the commanders to covering the iuk stuff for quite a bit on the show here over the last week or so since uh things have been starting to rumble up again with him uh but Tom peliso from NFL network has reported that auk had a really good meeting with uh the with the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week and this is what he had to say auk and the 49ers brass brass met on Monday at UK’s request this was a good meeting from what I was told both sides said things that needed to be said and they’re going to keep working it’s important to note here there’s never been a trade request from Brandon auk that hasn’t changed the 49ers stance hasn’t changed either despite getting trade calls on auk going back to draft week they’re moving forward and they want auk to be a part of the team in 2024 and it definitely looks like to me that Brandon iuk is going to be staying in San fr Francisco it seems like this meeting ended up well and obviously they don’t have a new extension done or anything like that and I’m not even convinced that a new deal will even happen this off season but what I do know is that the 49ers are trying to win Super Bowls right now and if they trade away an all proo receiver that was their number one receiving threat last year that’s going to significantly decrease their chances of hoisting the lardi trophy this year and I think that’s a non-negotiable for this football for that football team and I think auk will be wearing 49ers colors come week one now guys I when it comes to the commanders here I don’t necessarily think Washington needs to go out and get him I’ve said this on the show a number of times I think the wide receiver room is actually pretty decent for the Washington commanders right now you got Terry mclen who is a Bonafide number one receiver it’s not like Brandon auk would be giving you something that you don’t already have M Lauren is absolutely fantastic and I I’m hoping he really gets the respect he deserves with a guy like Jaden Daniels throwing him the rock this year Johan doson was a former first round pick he’s got a lot of talent dami Brown had a great connection with Jaden Daniels during OTAs and of course you just got Luke mcaffrey who you’re hoping can really bud into a nice wide receiver piece for Jaden Daniels moving forward in this offense so it’s not like wide receiver is a huge need plus you’d have to pay Brandon iuk 30 plus million dollar per season so I’m not too strung up about the commander not being able to trade for Brandon iuk but let me know down there in the comments section will Brandon iuk be a 49er this year give me a yes or or give me a no for today’s pin comment YouTube’s going to throw you an ad break here in just a couple of seconds and when that happens take advantage of that time by giving me a yes or no to today’s pin question now let’s get into the really crazy trade idea here where Parker Abate from Steelers now floats the idea that Washington could trade Terry mclen to the Pittsburgh Steelers all right now that’s that sounds crazy to me it probably sounds crazy to you but it is worth noting here that the catch in this scenario is that he’s saying that it would only be a possibility if Brandon auk was traded to the Washington commanders and we just talked about how that in it in of itself is probably unlikely but this is what Parker from Steelers now had to say about this possibility a name that could get lost in do dialogue if the commanders do make a move for auk is veteran Terry mclen in addition of Brandon iuk could lead to an attractive Duo between he and Jan doson teams have not been shy in recent years when moving on from veteran players so what if mclen ends up being Expendable well here’s the thing man uh Terry mclen is not Expendable I don’t even care if you trade for Brandon iuk a guy as good as Terry mclen is never Expendable on your football team okay so let’s get that clear right off the bat but I also think that Parker gets a lot of things wrong in his reasoning here when it comes to uh uh why the Steelers could potentially acquire Terry mclen even if they traded for auk the first problem here is that like we just said auk looks like he’s not getting traded it looks like he’s going to remain with the 49ers for at least the 2024 season whether he gets a new contract or not certainly seems like San Francisco is pretty bullish on having him in their locker room this year then another reason why I think that he’s wrong here is that Dodson might not be a might be a part of an IU trade if something ends up happening say things devolve and things spiral and Brandon demands a trade and then something happens where he gets traded to the commanders I would think that the 49ers would want a talented receiver like Johan doson to be a part of the deal so they’re not losing out on too much talent at that position so he says yeah you know it would be a great combination iuk vers with with doson on the other side I think Terry mclen and johnan doson is a perfectly good combo and if this trade happens I think Brandon iuk can Terry mclen is an even better combination right so then the final reason why I think that this is a silly idea is that the commanders wouldn’t trade Terry mclen even if they traded for uh Brandon iuk I think the one of the big reasonings why they would like this great idea and the reason why you know many commanders fans have floated this idea out there is to combine the talents of Terry mclen and Brandon iuk to make one of the best wide receiver Duos in football it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to trade away a really valuable asset like Terry mclen just after getting Brandon auk now coming up here on the commander support a brand new wide receiver Target to unveil here on the commander support we have not talked about this receiver on the channel so far this off season we’ll be talking about him here in just St second but before I reveal who this wide receiver is go ahead free agent he is on the New England Patriots right now and you’d be absolutely correct about that but here’s the thing man Juju is most likely going to get cut by the Patriots at some point during this offseason if he makes it to training camp he is expected to be cut by the end of the preseason and man he’s only 27 years old it’s not like he’s an old man right now he’s had some injury concerns but he’s a bigger guy 61 216 pounds he’s kind of known as like a bruising run blocking type of slot receiver uh and I think that he would bring a skill set that really isn’t well represented in the commander wide receiver room right now uh the tallest guy I think that you have in the room is Luke mcaffrey uh and then other than that it’s like Terry mclen who’s 6 foot so you don’t have a lot of guys with this kind of size and this kind of strength in this kind of run of run blocking ability so if Cliff Kingsbury the offensive coordinator wants somebody to come in here and be a true run blocking type guy that can still catch passes from the slot I think that ju guu would be a nice addition but here’s the thing man I don’t think he’s going to want to become a Washington Commander like we just said earlier this wide receiver room is actually pretty good right now so I don’t think Washington really feels like they would want to bring in somebody like a gu gu who has had a lot of injuries and then from JuJu’s perspective I’m not sure if the commanders would be his first choice there’s other teams out there that might uh might benefit a little bit more from bringing him in and he might play more on other team so I’m not sure if it’s a great fit between Juju Smith Schuster and the Washington commanders but because uh his name’s been kind of on the chopping block they in New England I’ve seen some people in the commander space say hey maybe we can bring Juju to the to the nation’s capital I disagree but let me know down there in the comments section would you bring ju guu
