state of the jet franchise and joining us right now is another phenomenal jet content creator he goes by the Buffalo Jet fan and he joins us now what’s up ejf Jake what’s going on I I saw Jets analyst in the title is someone coming on or is that supposed to be me well to me you are a Jets analyst you have rational takes and I like you so you’re an analyst all right I’ll put it on my resume there you go that will that that will help you uh so a a lot to get into with you but I’ve had this idea for a while when I saw you sent out these uh predictions a couple of weeks back it’s been bookmarked on my Twitter but that was before Aaron Rogers skipped two padless practices in June and we were focusing in on that uh but anyway you put together five of your boldest predictions for the upcoming 2024 season so I thought it’d be fun to put each one up on the screen and we’ll break it down we’ll go through why you you feel the way you did I’ll weigh in and the audience will weigh in as well so without further Ado let’s break down the Buffalo Jet fans five boldest predictions for the Dior Jets 2024 season prediction number one Malachi Corley leads all NFL receivers in rushing yards you wrote hovering around 200 yards would put him in the conversation the yak King out rushes Debo who has been declining in efficiency and availability so I def I defer to you explain prediction number one well he Malachi Corley was one of the most impressive Yak wide receivers to come out of college in a long time uh a ridiculous nine Yak yards per catch not just not just yards per catch but nine yards after the catch per reception and considering his average depth of Target was pretty short was just him Hitt you know tunnel screens and ripping through the whole defense and you know some people question well does he have a limited route tree maybe but I can’t blame Western Kentucky if I’m their offensive coordinator I’m just going to say We’ll dump it off to Malachi and have him go truck through the whole defense why make it more complicated than that but um I think he’ll be able to at least do that right away Yak is a pretty sticky stat for wide receivers transitioning from um College in the NFL we saw with Garrett Wilson like he was super slippery at Ohio State and he’s he’s hard to bring down in the NFL they stylistically different and and I think that Aaron Rogers does love those short um quick Yak intended throws I think he’ll get some work on end rounds and sweeps I think that that you could see him just line up as a running back and and take you know a carry a game so it would be just under 12 yards rushing per game that would get him towards that 200 200 yard Mark which will put him in the ballpark and Debo he’s been n he’s been injured he’s been older so I think he could be not not necessarily the next Debo as an overall player that’s a really high bar he’s kind of one of one it’s almost like comping someone at Tyreek Hills speed he’s just an outlier but I do think he’ll be known as that that yak receiver that tough physical um receiver that plays the running backs mentality and I think that could happen right away for Corley I look at Malachi Corley as someone who I think will contribute right away and I could see his role being increased as the year goes on because I agree with you I think Rogers loves guy and that’s what I’ve heard from people too that he was really impressive in OTAs and mini camp so I wonder how quickly they get him involved as a focal point in this offense like how quickly it could actually come together yeah you have to think and what I always go back to is it’s not even necessarily my opinion of Malachi Corley you have to think about the Jets opinion of Malachi Corley they tried to trade up for the guy starting at pick 45 you know they said that he was their fourth overall receiver in the draft so I know we see stuff like oh can Xavier Gibson be ahead of him and I’m like I don’t know man would Xavier Gibson be ahead of Brian Thomas Jr if if he their fourth if he’s their fourth favorite receiver so I think Malachi Corley is almost gonna get a chance to fail before the Gibson and brownlees of the world uh step in there so you make that kind of investment I think he should be one of your three starting receivers and 11 personnel uh right away and with Mike Williams availability I mean there’s a chance he is second in touches among the wide receiver room outside of Garrett Wilson there there’s a chance I think he’s going to get some opportunities we’re breaking down the Buffalo jet again was all tweeted out by the Buffalo Jet fan a few weeks back number two Will McDonald leads the jets in sacks would have been a hot take to say Huff leads the 2023 Jets at this time last year except it wasn’t and neither is this McDonald will play plenty on passing Downs more often and rarely get double teamed 11 sacks in 17 games why not I love this man because you’re like the only one I’ve seen that is this Allin on Will McDonald break this one down why do you think he’ll lead the Jets and sacks yeah this is probably the hottest one um just off of off of Vibes I think if you go back to this time last year year if someone said Quincy Williams going be a first team All Pro he’d be like nah it’s kind of crazy but there will be one thing that happens that kind of shocks us and I look if you want to say reck or or quinnon or Germaine would have more sacks than will I can’t push back too much but I think he’s going to get a lot of opportunity a lot of playing time I think most I think he’s goingon to have a very high pass rush snap to run snap split maybe the highest differential of any of the defensive lineman and I think if he’s out there with with JJ with reic with quinnon the double teams and the chips and the help are not going to go that way so he’s going to get his one-on-one opportunities and I just love the prospect you know I don’t I just did a show before I came on here on my channel where I pretty much made the case we were all in on a year or two leap from Germaine Johnson last year most Jeff fans and I don’t have any reason not to be just as bis on Will McDonald because when I look at Will McDonald his rookie year compared to Germaine now obviously with the information we have now I would say Germaine is a better player because Germaine just made a pro bowl um but rookie year for rookie year you know Will McDonald Had more sacks and less snaps he had a higher pressure rate a higher pass rush rush win rate an equal Run Stop rate he had a strip sack he jumped over an entire offensive line and blocked the field goal uh so I I Love Will McDonald now I do want him to get I did saw a clip of him like two days ago um in training camp where it’s like dude eat a couple of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and hit that squat rack brother because he is he is still looking pretty skinny but I think his play strength is pretty good for his size I love his length I love his get off I love his Bend I think when McDonald is going to is perfect for this this wide n system and I think he’s going to have a really good year will McDonald breaking out is not a crazy take because the one thing we’ve seen from the Jets is they coach up their defensive players really well their coaching staff has a pretty long track record in three years under Salah of finding guys we haven’t heard of and developing them and turning them into really good players Bryce Huff is the latest example of that and he got paid jfm was a waiver wire claim and they turned him into really good player quinnon went from a good player to First Team All Pro in this system Germaine year one to year two you just said it so I don’t think this is crazy Michael Carter yeah yeah Michael Carter like you can keep going I was just talking about defensive line players but Quincy’s another guy you know if you just do you know just players in General on that side of the ball so I think it’s a hot take because of how good their dline is but it’s not crazy because if you love the prospect his numbers do compare very similar to what Germaine did as a rookie yeah yeah and I think Germaine obviously the run defense he’ll never as good against the run as Germaine and um you know maybe I think just the time at the pick like we all wanted a receiver offensive line so I think that still is with us maybe we also wanted to extend Huff so him being here as part of why Huff is gone so I think if you and I agree with a lot of that stuff like look we we did mock drafts I didn’t mock Will McDonald to the Jets I I wanted them to extend huff and and take the wide receiver whatever but if you remove all that from it and just look at the prospect um and what he does Rook e year I’m excited for will 100% so I like that Jeff fans your thoughts on Will McDonald leading beating the team in sacks that’s a bold prediction right there from the Buffalo Jet fan what Buffalo Jet fan Breece Hall and brillan Allen lead all running back Duos in receptions Rogers loves to feature his backs Bree has a whole tier as a pass catcher we haven’t seen Allen is reportedly looking very comfortable out of the back field this summer should be a potent pass catching Duo yeah do you remember when Nate Hackett got to the podium last year and said that they were like surprised that Bree Hall could could catch a pass well I I think Aaron Rogers already knows that so thankfully a we’re going to be able to skip that step this year and once they started featuring you know it’s amazing the Jets offense down the stretch actually started to get better believe it or not when they started to run their offense through Garrett Wilson and Bree Hall when they really started to feature their their best two um Elite Playmakers it got a lot better and Bree actually LED all running backs last year with um 74 receptions or 76 receptions rather and uh best majority of those coming the back half of the season so I think if he could pick up where he left off he’s going to get a lot of targets and brayan Allen look all we have to go off of is the the padless practices and I know they don’t mean people say they mean nothing but to me they mean more than nothing because correct me if I’m wrong did you hear nearly the amount of hype for I aananda this time last year as you did for brayon Allen I don’t think so I think it’s been a a whole another level for for brayan Allen and how quickly he’s apparently picking up the offense and how smooth like I feel like every single tweet by Robbie Sabo or Zack rosenblat is like a nice catch by brilon Allen out of the backfield so I think that’s going to be the one-w punch and I do think Bree has man I think he could do some I know this name is maybe not the the best in terms of his Jets tenure but some Le’Veon Bell like the prime Pittsburgh Le’Veon Bell was a popular Pro Comp for Bree Hall coming out of Iowa because I think he could if you really wanted to you could line him up in the slot and give him some of those those two-way goes so and Aaron Aaron uh Rogers he featured Aaron Jones and AJ Dylan a whole lot and I think you do see a similar like thunder and lightning there with Breece and and Allen but I think Breece is is definitely um all the respect to Aaron Jones who’s been a very good player in this league I think Bree is even more Dynamic so I’m excited for that that one-w punch um particularly as as pass catchers I love this because to your point I think for veteran players you don’t really care about OTAs or mini camps like no one cares that Aaron Rogers looks great they’re going to focus on the fact he wasn’t there but like Rogers should look great he’s Aaron Rogers like it’s just a nice reminder but for young players for rookies it’s nice to hear positive things because especially at that position brillan Allen can’t Flash without pads on because he’s a Bruiser same with Malachi Corley because their their their game is yak and hitting people so the fact that Allen is flashed as a as a pass catcher when he was not known to be that guy in college that to me is not nothing that’s something it’s not the end all Beall but that that to me is definitely something yeah yeah I think that he could what I’m looking at just Target distribution in this offense I mean I I think bran Allen could catch more passes than like Jeremy Rucker and Jason brownley and some of those guys I think he might be the fifth or sixth most targeted um player so I’m excited for him and running back is a low learning curve you kind of are in your Prime as soon as you you hit the ground running and even though the kid I think he’s like 20 years old but he he looks like a like a Super Saiyan already so he’s he’s already physically looks like he’s ready for the NFL hit the like button if you’re just here again we’re talking with the Great Buffalo Jet fan subscribe to his channel if you want more content about All Things New York Jets here we go prediction number four from the Buffalo Jet fan number four no Jets pass catcher other than Garrett Wilson Eclipse eclipses 700 yards Rogers recently won back-to-back MVP awards with this being the case Rogers is going to feed Garrett Wilson an absurd Target shair with a massive drop off to the rest Hall K cat 75 passes but his ad do will be very short Garrett will lap the field in receiving yards explain this one this was very interesting to me yeah I think I tried to pick one that was I guess maybe like I guess could be perceived as negative or not just like not just hyping up a bunch of a everyone’s going to get all these crazy stats but I think G if you look at I’m not saying Garrett Wilson is Devonte Adams but I do think he’s special enough uh to to Warrant that type of alpha Target share that Devonte Adams got from Aaron Rogers and I think he’s and then I think there’s a bunch of guys like Garrett and then a big drop off a bunch of guys who can live in that 600 650 like up to 700 yards range like Tyler Conlin um was right around there last year Bree Hall yeah he could C he could catch 70 balls but his average yards per reception is probably going to be under 10 because he’s a running back I think it was like seven around seven or eight last year um and then corley’s a a rookie who is kind of an you’re not sure how much is Lazard featured how much is Gibson featured we don’t know the one guy I could see Challen puning for it would be Mike Williams If he if he does play right away and you know he’s he’s healthy for all 17 then he’ll get 700 yards especially because his yards per reception are so high um he just catches those deep jump balls on the scene he get like 15 16 yards per per catch so he will do it but I’m assuming that you know Mike Williams are probably going to have him for two-thirds of the snaps is and that would still be worth it for his contract so I think when we do predictions for the pass catchers it gets a little crazy because people will say no Conlin’s going to have 900 yards and 10 touchdowns not corley’s going to come on right away and be Mike Williams is going to have a th yards G Wills it’s like you’re out of yards already you know Aaron Rogers has never thrown for more than he’s only thrown for 4500 yards once his two MVP Seasons he threw for just over 4,000 yards now he’s gonna throw a ton of touchdowns like I think we threw 11 as a team last year that could triple um but I don’t think 11 11 or professional football team they threw 11 touchdowns yeah so Garrett Wilson could catch more touchdowns this year than we had passing touchdowns last year uh I think that that could definitely happen but I don’t think we’re going to be a it’s going to be a Drew Brees level like 50100 you know passing yards anything like that so I think it’ll be Garrett by himself and then a bunch of other guys like kind of chipping in here and there folks the way did you see this round two started already dude I the NBA draft is like so low on the things in the Sports World I care about but I guess right it’s a two-day event and they just started it I’m like watching right now and I see like the clock ticking I’m like really I mean whatever I our Knicks have made some pretty moves that I’m pretty sure you’re excited about though go New York go yeah no I’m I’m hyped it’s it help eases the sting over how poorly the Yankees have been playing yeah where’s your Grimace costume bjf ah I was saving it for next week okay you do that hit the like button if you’re tuning in all right we got uh what was that that was prediction number four so we have one final bold prediction from Buffalo Jet fan before we open it up talk about everything else going on with the Jets here we go the final bold prediction number five from the Buffalo Jet fan the Jets post their second highest sack total in franchise history the magic number here would be 50 the Jets already have two of their top five highest under Robert Salah they have three excellent pass rushers we know of and one we are about to should play with more leads and the 17th game helps all counting stats break this down so I would honestly be disappointed if if we didn’t because we already again like I said we have two of the top five under Robert Salah the the sack exchange year is 66 sacks I that’s that’s Untouchable but the Jets played the third uh fewest amount of game time with a lead uh last year so they weren’t really able to pin their ears back and and get the quarterback a lot the other teams were in their you know their four-minute offense it seemed like halfway through the third quarter and although I think the the depth the overall eight-man rotation of the defensive line maybe regressed a little bit I think the top end Talent of Quinny Williams Germaine Johnson and reick is probably about as good as any three a defensive line Trio you could find in the NFL and I think those three guys might have 30 sacks between them and then if you factor in guys who can get six plus like McDonald like maybe kinlaw and then and then you’re already over 40 uh with with the uh the annual Solomon Thomas three and a half in there somewhere so yeah I think that the Jets should be one of the top two to three teams in sacks I think they should get over 50 and that will be good enough to be the second highest since what was the sack exchange one 1985 1981 19 but uh it’s been a while but I think we’ll get the second highest could three Jets get in the double digits reick I think is a lock McDonald if you buy into it and can quinnon return to what he was two years ago with less double teams now yeah it’s possible I I probably I mean you want to throw JJ in there over over McDonald I wouldn’t have a problem with that um I probably would bet not and just because quinnon it’s so hard from the interior man when you’re getting double in in triple team so I’d probably put quinton’s over under at like eight and a half maybe but it’s defin and but also re could get 12 and could get eight you know what I mean so there’s three guys who could probably get 30 between them however it shakes out I can’t wait for heran reck I think he’s actually become underrated by so so many in this fan base well I think it’s just because he’s hasn’t been there you know like reic is and and losing Huff like reck is still very good now I I’m on the stance that I would prefer they rent him I think it just makes sense financially uh get one more really good year out of this soon to be 30-year-old but yeah I mean he had 11 he had 11 sacks and 67 pressures last year and funny enough the only jet to do that between John Abraham and now was Bryce Huff so you’re getting another guy who’s done something last year that no Edge player has done in in 20 years until Bryce Huff came along I just think reick is like Huff’s really good reck is consistently proven to be a top five Edge in the league the last four years and he’s playing for a contract like I I could see him having a big year when the Jets are protecting leads late in game like there’s going to be multiple games this year where he either comes up with a big Sack or a big Force pressure that closes out a game and I can’t wait well think about Ric two he has a knack for um Forest fumbles too he’s so that you could see a big strip sack to close out a game and I’m not worried about him like I think this is going to be squared away between uh within the first few days of training camp because it’s not like we I know we talk about leverage again like we could debate leverage between Rogers and with the Packers and the Jets but let’s be clear here reic has no leverage he has to play he has to play or he’s not it do you never see this work out for a player’s Pockets when a when a hold out goes on and on and on they never ends up uh getting that money back so he’s gonna have to play you’d rather have him be happy than than not but it’s his last chance to get a bag and him missing games is is just not going to be conducive to him getting a second contract so I hope we have a highly motivated reic for one year and then you hopefully get a get a comp pick back that kind of negates the 2026 pick you give up so let’s say it ends up being a third rounder in 2026 that you give up and then maybe you get a a fourth round pick comp pick back so you rented reic for one year for 14 million in an all- in year for a pick swap two years from now I think that’s pretty good business by the Jets I don’t expect him to be um to have some sort of three-year extension what if they give him incentives and boost his value a little bit and then do you think that is that enough to get him into Camp maybe or maybe just guarantee more of his money maybe he just doesn’t want to take the field until he’s got his money guaranteed I mean maybe that could be it or even if they wanted to tack on one year till 2025 and you have him in there with the rock but I think from his perspective he’ he’d just probably rather play it out and then go get a three-year bag somewhere else but I’m fine with them guaranteeing his money and say hey man you you hit these numbers we’ll give you another 2.5 million something like that ladies and gentlemen Steve M has made it rain for the second time in today’s program Sound the my realistic expectations well my prediction that they win 11 games and that’s probably good enough to win the division with maybe a tiebreaker baked in there and I’m building the only th the only thing I’m putting on Hope is Aaron Rogers staying healthy so if you think that’s unrealistic then it’s a non-starter like if you want to tell me Rogers is gonna go down then Tyrod Taylor is gonna go down then Tyrant Smith Morgan Moses and Olu FAS are going to all go down in the first play we’re right back where we were last year okay then I don’t know what what to tell you you can cancel the season now but within reason even if we just get let’s say 10 11 games at A tyan Smith if Mike Williams plays you know is available two-thirds of the snaps and is at 85% of where he was last year before he tore his Achilles if Morgan Moses um has to miss three to four game like everything else just within a a baseline of expectations of availability and performance with Rogers on the field playing I don’t know as a top 12 quarterback I I think that the Jets should be able to win 11 game I mean if you think about it the Jets are making probably the single big biggest improvements at quarterback and offensive line of any team in the NFL and the defense that’s returning you know what nine starters um that has been top five the last two years as special teams that’s really good like we’ve watched this team we know what the problems are the problem is they couldn’t block and they didn’t have a quarterback and people say oh well it’s the Jets well we haven’t proven anything and it’s like dude if you think it’s a massive leap of faith to say that Aaron Rogers or even the Tyrod Taylor with a much better offensive line could win three four more games than the average of Zack Wilson Tim Bo and Trevor Simeon is like a fringe roster level quarterback I don’t know what to tell you you speak facts I mean people people act like the Jets going from seven wins with by far the worst quarterback play in the league to 10 with average Quarterback play and 11 or 12 with above average Quarterback play which I expect to get from Aaron Rodgers is like this crazy take it’s not here you you had this chart on your Twitter I pulled it for the folks this is why I’m confident the Jets could win more than seven games this chart can I point something else out about this chart because I went I went deep on the chart you’ll have to you go back go back to my Twitter I put a thread that you you’ll die laughing out of your chair because I went down and I chared like Bole and simy and all these different guys and so the average of all of Robert salah’s quarterbacks put together so like Mike White flacko Josh Johnson strer all of them that have ever taken a snap under Salah the average of all of them is like a M ahead of Zack because Mike White and Flo stats like drag up Zack a little bit and the worst quarterback play to ever make the playoffs on this chart was last year’s Steelers which live right about Davis Mills so there’s no there’s since they started keeping track of these kind of analytics no team has ever made the playoffs with the kind of quarterback play we had last year and people say that and they say you’re defending Salah and I’m like look man you’ve had me on before where we’ve talked Salah and I’ve had lots of critiques but you just can’t tell me like oh you have historically atrocious quarterback play figure it out oh you have Tim Bole figure it out oh this team had a backup like no because even Mason Rudolph the gap between Mason Rudolph and Tim Bole is like the gap between mes Rudolph and like [ __ ] Patrick Mahomes like on this chart literally if you look at the chart that would be the Gap so I just think we’ve become accustomed to such bad quarterback play that we don’t even understand how really abysmal and atrocious it’s been and even if you just look at Tyrod where Tyrod Taylor is on that chart where Tyrod Taylor’s backup year is on that chart he would be like multiple standard deviations above what we had if you’re telling me you had Tyrod Taylor behind this behind our current offensive line I still think they could be have a chance to make a make a wild card Tyrell Taylor was decent with the Giants who had a mess of an offense last year so it’s and people get oh you’re blaming the quarterback it’s like dude it is what it is man I don’t know am I blaming Billy Turner because he’s Billy Turner is it it just is what it is man they weren’t good and now they have they have two guys who are veterans who are who are much better I uh have pulled up your thread here let’s go through it you know yeah because I’m enjoying this man so this is your first tweet in this thread we know we know where Zack Wilson is where Zack
