Breaking News: Calgary Flames Trade Andrew Mangiapane to Washington Capitals
we have another NHL trade to announce between Washington Capitals and the Calgary Flames we’ll get into the details coming up next so welcome back to another video here at Top Shelf hockey as I mentioned we have another NHL tree to talk about this evening ahead of the NHL draft which is now just under 24 hours away uh the Calgary Flames continue their rebuild and the Washington Capitals continue their read tools kind of helping each other out here in a sense but the Flames have traded forward Andrew mangiapani uh who at one point has been you know at times been a 20 to 30 goal scorer um I think he’s at a point with the Flames that probably could use a fresh start he’s making 5.8 million certainly in a situation where I think uh a first start would be beneficial for him Washington is a team that’s trying to remain competitive to uh you know continue on through the remainder of the ainer if you will um you know obviously they’re they’re adding some uh scoring forward Wingers centers like they need a variety of things in Washington really so I think he has potential to be a good fit there um it’s only one year cuz he’s in a contract year so he’ll also be motivated for his next contract so overall I think there’s a good benefit there going back to Calgary is a 225 second round pick so they get to continue building their draft capital for their rebuild it’s the second round pick that was originally belonged to the Colorado Avalanche which has been moved a few times now so at the end of the day good cap relief for the Flames don’t don’t really need it that much cuz they’re obviously they’re rebuilding but mie Pony uh I think is due for a trade this gets him over there we know we found it from Washington earlier that a couple of players including Max Patch ready not going to be returning uh to the team next year so uh this will be a wcome Edition a younger scoring Winger who uh at times like I said in the past has been a pretty good pretty good scorer so we’ll see if he can rejuvenate himself in Washington and land himself his next contract so let me know your thoughts on this trade down in the comments and we’ll discuss further if you’re new to the Channel make sure you stick around we’ll be all kinds of more content coming your way over the next couple of days another video coming later tonight uh with recapping all of the other news and rumors around the league plus we have the draft coming up tomorrow free agency uh all kinds of content to keep your NHL updates thanks for watching I’ll catch you next time [Music]

What's calcary doing giving away players starting all over 2nd round should do better like a prospect or roster player from teams now they just blowing up team going to take many years to be a good team
This makes me think Oshie is definitely going LTIR.
I was going to get a Gaudreau jersey, but then he left. So I thought, I’ll get a Tkachuk jersey, then he left. Now I wanted a Toffoli jersey, then he left. Then I wanted to get a Hanifin jersey, then he left. Now I wanted to get a Markstrom jersey, then he left. Guess whose jersey I wanted to get next? Mangiapane. You know how this goes.

I've always liked Mandiapane…..fast, good hands, can put the puck in the net…..maybe PLD will reignite his game and the two of them will actually boost the Caps next season.
Good move by Calgary,Mangiapane is too small.Another thing Calgary should look is getting more Canadian players,and a right wing to play with Kuzmenko that is Russian.

At least the Caps are trying to remain competitve with the addition of Andrew Mangiapane. I'd also add Mikael Granlund if the salary cap allows. Mikael Granlund could replace Backstrom's assists. Mikael Granlund: 69GP/12G/48A/60Pts. MG has a 1 year deal at $5 AAV. Perfect fit.
