  1. If Lyubushkin comes back as a 6/7 defenceman it’s not the worst idea. But if they decide to bring him back, likely means Liljegren and Timmins are gone

  2. He likes Toronto, and he’s a solid depth defenseman who can slot anywhere in the lineup in the case of injuries.

  3. Hope so he was great in the playoffs even though they still lost he was a big reason it made it to game 7

  4. Weren’t we Interested the first time? He just got a bag somewhere that we couldn’t match.

Still need a 3rd pairing guy. Tre seems like he wants some size and sandpaper for it

  5. Find yourself someone who likes you as much as treliving likes low WAR players with either traditional skillsets and/or truculence

  6. I don’t mind it as long as he isn’t top pairing. 4-5-6 sure. Maybe even 7. But not in the top. Also the number for me has to start with a 2.

  7. So assuming they sign Tanev, this would suggest:

    Reilly – Tanev

    McCabe – Liljegren

    Benoit – Lyubushkin

I can’t imagine they’d be happy with that so that makes me think they will only re-sign Lyubushkin if they plan on playing Benoit with McCabe and moving on from Liljegren.

  8. Had a heart attack when I read “the Leafs are open to extending Ilya”

  9. I think if we’re deciding on a 5th-7th defencemam, Joel Edmundson  should be in the picture if the price is right. I guess Lybushkin played well enough to consider a glance as well.
    1m per year for either
