Shohei Ohtani may be underrated

  1. I definitely think his pitching is underrated. Everyone is so focused on his batting.

I can’t wait to see him come back with pitching!

  2. I think people don’t talk enough about his talents until they realize how difficult it is to excel as a great two-way player in MLB

Probably not until there are around 10 top two-way player prospects hitting around .250/.350/.500 and with an ERA around 3.80

  3. Am I crazy to think he would be a gold glove of or 1b if he was forced to become a position player

  4. Read the whole article, really a good read. The writer hit on a few points that could argue why Ohtani could win the MVP by achieving the Triple Crown, a feat that only **ten** players have achieved, the last being Miguel Cabrera 2012 (won MVP). But since Ohtani doesn’t have any defensive stats to bolster his MVP campaign the writer points out that Mookie and Acuña (and NOW Harper!) are injured and the MVP candidates from last season like Corbin Caroll, Belinger, Olson are all kind of mid this season. It’s really Ohtani’s MVP to lose
