  1. Not sure the CBJ need more “middle players” w picks outside top 10 and in second half of first round?

  2. I don’t want 2 picks in the 12-14 range and then a pick around 28-32. Fuck that.

  3. The only way I like that trade is if it was done a week ago, then the later picks were used to acquire players from other teams.

  4. Stanley Cup Champions – save the Golden Knights – have almost always drafted a marquee player (or two) in the top 5 at some point. MacKinnon-Makar, Stamkos, Crosby-Malkin, Toews-Kane, Ovechkin, etc. Florida might appear to be an exception but they drafted Ekblad and it was only because they drafted Huberdeau top 3 that they were able to trade for Tkachuk.

    Elite talent is too expensive to try and sign in free agency. We need as many high picks as possible hoping one busts out. The goal is that Fantilli gets his ride-or-die superstar and they carry this team to success over the next several years.
