Two years in a row you get handed a steal on a silver platter, except this year you go nah gimme the kid who won’t be able to move by their mid 20s
Not a confidence inspiring first major move
Bad decision. Demidov is less risk and has better skill.
As a player, I like Lindstrom. I have two concerns though:
1) is he actually a center in the NHL?
2) his back
Love this. Center has been such a perpetual weakness and now we’ve got Fantilli-Lindstrom-Sillinger as a long term outlook.
Having big physical centermen is such savvy roster construction when we have smaller guys like Johnny and KJ on the wing and guys like Dumais on the horizon.
I’m not going to disregard the back issues but I doubt anyone here is the team doctor so if Don and co. were comfortable making the pick I’m not going to lose sleep over the medicals (unless he decides to wear 27).
Not sure about this one. On one hand they know infinitely more about his medical issues than me. On the other hand back issues at that age in this game? That would scare the shit out of me, especially with someone like Demidov right there. Guess we’ll see.

Jeez people. The team has obviously done their due diligence when it comes to his injury history. They have doctors look at these things prior to the draft to see if there is any concern. Clearly there is little to no concern since they picked him.
Someone make sure to tell him he can’t wear #27

Jesus fuckin Christ the pessimism about his back. Outside the number one pick, it’s usually a crap shoot. So if they think he’s best pick available fuck it we ball. It’s soo early to be so damn sad about his back. He’s 18, not 35 with 15 years of NHL on his body.

Yeeeah it’s hard not to feel a little skeptical about a guy with injury concerns being added to a team that has had severe injury issues. Also that we have to question if he will even end up playing center. Guess it’s back to praying to the hockey gods for mercy.
Jesus Christ people are being assholes to this kid. He’s huge, his vibes are good, seems like a great locker room type aura — but all over social media everyone is bitching about what a failure this is and why he is a disaster.

Very happy with the Lindstrom pick. Couldn’t go wrong between him and Demidov. Stacked at center now. We have so many guys to slot into Center, we could play a very fluid form of hockey going forward

Lindstrom had one good season. Where he was injured. Not only that it was kind if injury that is one of the worst type you can have. All you had to do was to pick Demidov and thats it. But no we pick guy who has back of 70 year old grandpa. Very dissapointed. Ill gladly eat crow if it isnt true…
Edit: i would have rather taken catton if Demidov wasnt available. But he was..

Building out a bigger, stronger team is a good thing. Kid is 6-4 216 at 18, with a rocket of a shot and a physical streak.
Nobody here knows shit about his injuries, so you know what, all you gotta do is hope he stays healthy.
He’s gonna be good.
I’ll be first in line for a big plate of crow, and I’ll chow that shit down so hard without a drink and get seconds.
But I don’t think this is gonna work out for us.
The user Maccas_Apples blocked me earlier today for telling him to calm down in the main hockey sub. It’s just effing hilarious to see him flipping out so much in our sub now too.
