Chicago Blackhawks pick Artyom Levshunov speaks after going 2nd at NHL Draft | CHGO Blackhawks

does it seem like it’s been that long yeah I was waiting for this 18 years finally I’m somewhere not somewhere in chicag how how does it feel I mean just what was it like to be up there and name feels real now now it feels like Dream came true you know did you expect it to be Chicago you always seem to be their favorite I was thinking about them because yeah we had a good conversation with them yeah during the season and they combined and they came to Buffalo we had a our agency came they came to talk with me we went for lunch yeah and also talk with lot of teams you know had a every time who talk I want I’m happy that uh Chicago picked me and yeah I’m happy to be part of told by your your coach and one of your teammates that you’re pretty shy uh you don’t seem very shy no I I’m not sure I don’t know I try no I every time I try to talk with people try to yeah uh have fun and uh not really maybe a little bit sometimes but no what did you think of the sphere what was it like for you sitting in the stands and when the day was called I think that’s unreal it’s I’ve never been to Vegas my first time but and iide this year but it’s it’s unreal feeling you ever seen any like it like the globe the when we can can when we can see are Victory there were you watching the videos of the ceiling before before you were picked yes I was yeah I would yes what did you like about your interactions with Kyle Davis and everyone else that you met just no they’re there good people you know what did you know about Chicago BL box I’ve been to Chicago a couple times when I play on us we played against to and I mean have been to a couple times there do you expect to go back to Michigan State next year or do you thinking about going to AHL have you given any thought to that we’ll see we’ll see after yeah I first I think I need to talk with my yeah my family with with the team and yeah we’ll see what were you feeling when they had blacks coming off and like Independance leading after that were you expecting to hear your name or nervous or I was a little bit nervous but uh yeah again just uh I was thinking that that they could beat me and it happened and uh you thought AE of whenever that day is of playing with Conor VOR yeah we be cool I mean he’s such yeah the over player he’s was drafted first overall last last year I think uh yeah he was such a good guy I think yeah totally uh fun to play with him what’s the rest of your summer look like well I think I’ll go for development come now and uh we’ll see after you were a big part of uh Michigan State’s back big part of Michigan State’s success this year um especially on the blue line how does it feel that the Blackhawks want you to be one of the big pieces now as part of this this rebuild it’s one of the big young parts of that rebuild I think uh no that’s something new like just uh just yeah do my job and uh yeah you were in a gold star camp with uh demol um did you get a chance to know him did you guys talk about all the back and forth people saying like who Black Hawks might take either you or him actually I met with see him first time when he came to us for called star cam I met with him and uh yeah we were talking about him and he wants to go team and but uh yeah I mean yeah I just thought he was picked there by martal Canadians actually and uh yeah actually he told me that he uh yeah he liked Chicago Blackhawks too and U they picked me and yeah May what’s it been like getting used to all this attention the last month or two leading up to the draft yeah it was a lot but still it was it was good to meet with new people to talk with them to it was it was fun it was a lot but uh still it just uh just time you know it was the process yeah we talked the other day not that far removed from uh coming over from Europe to play in the USHL with Green Bay and then your path to Michigan State um how much impact playing in North America has helped you with your development as a NHL Prospect no I think yeah I improved myself a lot uh yeah at a hockey player at a yeah person and uh spent one season in us and then then I uh came to college for my season second and uh my season season uh North America right and I improved myself there a lot uh yeah again the coaches they helped me a lot just yeah I think it worked for me we talked the other day at the at the facility just the excitement that you were feeling build up and it was now here and now the dream was coming what was today like waking up getting ready for today coming over to this Spar can you just talk about the emotions all day today yeah when I woke up I just all day I was thinking about the draft where I will be and uh but uh yeah just it was actually pretty simple just I mean not pretty simple it’s a special day for me but just uh yeah I just came to the draft and dra I did see Life Goes On Right War goes on and I’m so excited yeah to be again like uh to be part of play CL what it mean to have your family here from Valar yes they’re here yeah what was that like to have them here for this yeah it’s cool because I haven’t seen them for one year and so they came to Florida I already told remember when talk to you in Florida and uh they came to Florida for one week then they they came to the draft so and they they exed to see me and to see how was Dr and uh from hockey side from hockey anything about your personality that you want people to know about you that they might not know I like fishing gu like what yeah I like fishing actually fishing yeah I like to play different sports uh soccer basketball through playing a lot of different sports uh when I was yeah when I was younger I played the soccer basket a lot of team sports what do you P for uh for I like car you know like for B too what you learn about yourself after going through that personal tragedy and then still pursuing your your NHL dream excuse me I said what what did you learn about yourself going through that personal tragedy with your father and then coming back from that to continue to pursue your NHL dream like what did you learn about yeah yourself I think I learned that I need to be I need to stay strong in life yeah my father passed away but uh I just yeah I just said myself that yeah I need to stay strong in life the ice and uh so it’s life it’s life again yeah what what would he what would he have told you at this moment yeah you know unfortunately he’s not here uh yeah way I think he supposed to be here this day and to see me how I yeah was dress and uh but yeah uh every time he told me just yeah be yourself uh yeah stay strong strong and you will be good what has helped you stay strong what has helped you stay strong just uh I mean what do you mean what like internally what has helped you stay strong said you had to stay strong how have you been able to stay strong just yeah yeah don’t yeah never you up you know never go for uh your your coach was saying that um in your game youve approved a lot from early in the season like maybe not always knowing when to jump jump in the rush you know when to stay back on defense can you talk about how you grew during your freshman season and and those aspects of your game I know actually you know I just Ste in the ice and just start to play hockey and uh yeah of course I try to do my job first then like join to attack to play offense and uh yeah just uh I think still I need to work on my game and uh uh yeah and improve myself more how much are you looking forward just to getting to Chicago this week I know it’s off ice but just getting few days in the city getting to meet some of the other people in the black organization I think I’ll fly to Chicago on Sunday you you looking forward to uh the time that just that spending that week in Chicago I can’t wait can’t wait to get Chicago of course so of course that’s your family coming to oh sorry your family coming too I think so yeah we’ll see actually I’m not sure but they could but um Maybe not maybe they’ll go home tomorrow you know because yeah because I think they have tickets uh until Sunday no not I think they will go home in Sund so that’s been what else do you have any questions Ry what have you enjoyed about your time at Michigan State uh I enjoyed it too we’re here you know I think uh just no there’s yeah they’re good people there we had a great team and uh yeah great again organization coaches but it was a yeah I think we had a really great season uh before also for me for our team for our Organization for our University and uh I mean yeah it was great what else how much do you know about take a couple more for already you’ve played against guys like Frank Nar and Oliver more now you’re going be teammates in the same uh Prospect camp like how much have you taken away from playing against them and now being able to you know play with them in the same organization yeah I think when against them they’re they’re good players you know they’re smaller than me but U sort of yeah I’m to than them and like BR and guys and it was a little bit hard to play against them but uh they’re good players yeah they’re yeah good [Music] players we all sting like the May for
