Reds vs. Cardinals Game Highlights (6/28/24) | MLB Highlights

well maybe the right guy facing the right team for the Cardinals tonight Andre Palante has had great luck against the Cincinnati Reds there’s his body of work he is relieved tonight he is starting against Cincinnati again Cardinals and reds have split the first four games head to-head let’s see how they Faire with Jonathan India who is scorching hot he’s riding a n game hit streak and there’s one slap the other way that’ll get down for a base hit played on a hop by Burleson the right fielder moving to his right and India has a 10 game hitting streak as he leads off tonight’s game with a base hit to right De La Cruz has struck out 106 times this year pant’s got him set up with a one-w pitch and there’s number 107 took a little off in the knuckle curve takes care of the red short stop for oute number one one down and that brings up Spencer steer there’s a ground ball up the middle and this one leaks through it eludes the four time gold Glover Brandon Crawford India up to second that brings in Nick martini former Cardinal minor leager ground ball toward third scoop there second one com for the turn and a double play oh did pante need that now the Cardinals will get their swings against Frankie mtas the key for mtas is getting comfortable here the first couple of batters of the ball game and kind of settling in and not getting to so many deep counts Brendan Donovan leads off for the Cardinals in the bottom of the first swinging in a miss and down on strikes Brendan Donovan went after a fast ball up and he’s down on strikes and and normally he has an awfully good eye he doesn’t usually chase the ball out of the strike zone he chased three pitches in that at bat they were all ball Wilson conteras has two hits and 14 at bat since coming back from the broken arm swinging a Miss struck him out boy monos just carved up Wilson conteras right there poured in a first pitch strike with contras clearly taking all the way and Burleson takes the pass ball over but low on the outside corner he works the two out walk here’s Paul goldi Runner goes great jump now Monas steps off easy flick to Second and the tag the dead to rights burles we go to the second Reds and Red Birds nothing nothing good pitch there by Palante and weak contact for out number two that’ll bring up will Benson and now Palante is 3-2 he struck him out right on by two punch outs for Palante nothing wrong with 96 in her half there’s one down here in the second inning Monas goes after Nolan Gorman foul tip strike three perfect spot rank he feeling good tonight that pass Ball’s at 96 that’s really a good sign effortless and here’s Aron here’s a swing and the ball is popped into short center field is that going to get down it is it falls in front of Fairchild and beyond the reach of deor Cruz Aron is happy with that he gets a bloop single and that’s the first Cardinal hit deor Cruz tried to save him but even his great speed couldn’t catch up with that and the inning continues for Matt Carpenter oh Carpenter just got hit High inside and you hate it when pitchers Miss up there that is so dangerous and Carpenter takes some punishment two on and two out bouncing ball to De La Cruz at Short he gets the Hop and throws to First Crawford’s out side retired we are scoreless as we head to the top of the third inning Stuart Fairchild to lead things off for the Reds Breaky ball fooled Fairchild Palante has his third strike out even would count for the catcher meley little dribbler hit toward third arado be hand throws to First a gorgeous play and two out because the catcher is hitting he’s deep deeper than normal and this makes it even tougher although he does have time but still a bang bang play because he ends up having to run further than normal so two outs and the top of the order in India Reds two hits by right-handed hitters ground ball off the backand glove of arado India rounds first he zips up to second arado on a slide just now gathers with the pitcher covering at third base it’s a double for India at seven straight multi-hit games yeah three hits in the ball game two of them from out of off the bat of Jonathan India and now Ellie De La Cruz with a chance to drive him home right back to the mound pante is going to take care of that and the Reds as well in the third inning India left stranded and Michael canani is going to lead things off hammered toward right that’s a bullet that ball is off the top of the wall Benson a great Play here’s the throw to Second it’s going to be late C with a rifle shot and that is ball four that’ll put conteras at first base SE Johnny still standing at third and here’s Alec burles and this fella is dangerous in all sort of ways pitch is popped up DEA Cruz drifts out shallow Center back to the infield and he makes the over the shoulder catch Here Comes seani he’s going to try to score and he will ball gets through to montos throw a second that’s going to be dropped and conteras is safe how about that play I think anybody but C right here could be out I can’t remember the last time I saw sacrifice flight of a short stop I was just going to say you got an F6 with an RBI with two down in the top of the fifth inning here comes outside ball four and the bases are loaded for De La Cruz now the key is for Ellie not to try to do too much you got a chance here to do some damage a one broken bat get to the bag race there pante wins it Cincinnati loads him up and strands all three huge sequence for Palante who protects a one nothing lead and now we got trouble hit batsman in a walk to LV Marte coming up two on nobody out the 3-2 popped up deep short shallow left Donovan’s underne the line he’s got it there’s a big first down and Andre will leave after five in the third Innings of shot out ball two on one out one run game Palante gets a big hand from a big crowded Bush right-hander Ryan Fernandez is indeed the new pitcher for the Cardinals no wins two losses a 2.31 erra that’s hit toward left Donovan on the run to the warning track at the wall leapy grab What A Catch by Donovan he ran from St Louis to S to catch that baby in a big second out reds left them loaded in the fifth they’ve got two on now two outs and a two2 count Ryan’s ready Deuces Wild here it is he got him to swing and Miss Fernandez shuts the door Andre pal in line for a win he enjoys a one- nothing Advantage way inside again might have got him that one might have hit him it’s Ball Four either way and Ellie’s down to first base to lead off the Reds eighth inning and steer is up he is singled struck out and has been hit by a pitch this one popped up Shallow right out goes Gorman long run burles and Alec is going to slide and make the catch at the last instant somehow he went into a slide and kept that ball from hitting the grass unbeli believable I thought that was going to drop in for sure well Ryan Hesley is the fourth Cardinal reliever to answer a Chevy call to the bullpen he’s got the toughest save you can get a onrun lead as he’ll face espanol Benson and Fairchild for the Reds for helsley it’s 28 in a row and helsley versus Santiago espinol who jumps at the first pitch and Pops it up Crawford it’s short camps out and that one as high as the Gateway Arch is caught for round number one here’s will Benson got to respect this man’s power he’s at eight homers swing and a miss curve ball when you’ve got three devastating pitches it is almost impossible when they’re working especially middle end right there that is a nightmare for a left-handed hitter so 40,000 in St Louis are on their feet Stewart Fairchild the final hope for the RS swing Fly ball toward left Donovan back one running track wall he leaps he’s got it the Cardinals win it he made the catch he made the catch and may have taken a home run away from Fairchild that’s a red bird winner light up the night in downtown St Louis a long drive settled in the glove of Brendan Donovan and the Cardinals hold on to win one nothing

  1. OOH WEE !!! Ladies and gents, Manager of the Year Oliver Jose Marmol and his St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league) are like FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE … they "CRUISE" to ANOTHER easy win. It's TRUE that the squad goes 123-39, TAKES the NL Central, MAKES the postseason yet again and after Game 4 on October 29, POUR CHAMPAGNE and HOIST that TWELFTH World Series trophy!

Alec Michael Burleson, call him SANTANA because he was SMOOTH … in the bottom of the third inning, the 25-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina gets the offense rolling with a SLICK sacrifice fly to center field, driving in Michael Siani!

While OFFENSE may win contests on a daily basis, DEFENSE wins championships. PLENTY of #SCTOP10 plays all night long! To kick it off in the top of the first inning, third baseman Nolan James Arenado FIRED to shortstop Brandon Michael Crawford who then HURLED to first baseman Paul Edward Goldschmidt for the BIG double play. Then in the top of the third inning, co-Most Valuable Players of the League, Nado and Goldy, team up on the former's BARE-HANDED throw! Next in the top of the eighth inning, right fielder Alec Michael Burleson has a BONE-CHILLING snag. Finally in the top of the ninth inning, left fielder Brendan Michael Donovan ENDS THE GAME with the most AMAZING catch I have ever seen! These ALL show the STL is not only the best offensively, but defensively, too.

Neil Andre Pallante, YOWZA !! Peeps, the 25-year-old from Mission Viejo, California was ON FIRE all game long w/FIVE huge strikeouts. NO DOUBT he is a TRUE starter! MAD PROPS go to Ryan Austin Fernandez, Joseph Abel "Jojo" Romero, Andrew Michael Kittredge and Ryan Dalton Helsley, all part of the best bullpen in the league, for the PERFECT defense!

    TIME TO FLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #12in24

  2. Everything I saw in this match was unbelievable, even the last ball was caught miraculously so the end of the match remained as it was 1-0, Go Cardinals.

  3. I truly believe Andre Pallante has what it takes to become a Cardinals Ace. Maybe not now, but in the next three years. He has improved a lot this year. After mainly being a reliever last year, then going to AAA earlier this year, then into the starting rotation is a big step, and I think he’s done great. Everyone has there bad games, but I enjoy watching every game when he pitches. He’s still young, and has many more years to go. I sure hope the cardinals keep there trust with him.
