Astros vs. Mets Game Highlights (6/28/24) | MLB Highlights

veteran left-hander Jose canana on the mound for New York yeah this a guy that has that two seam fast ball he’s going to work most of the time he also also mix in the four seam the curve change in the slider four Altuve he’s hit 368 over his last 16 games one thing he hasn’t done is hit Jose canana very well and he hits this one in the air out toward a deep left field Brandon nmo is back on on the first pitch Jose Altuve drives out a home run it’s a quick start for the Astros it’s Al tu’s 13th homeover and it’s one- nothing one pitch in now tuve had been five for 27 in his career against canano was the second worst he’s ever done against a pitcher in his career and it could be like this all night long with the way these two teams have been hitting there St three called from kintana as bregman goes down looking the first out of the game outside that just missed the outside corner kintana trying to paint the edge instead loses Alvarez it’s a one- out walk he Loops this ball to left field and that’s a base hits the Astros have had three of their first four reach here in the first inning Homer from Altuve Alvarez walked and now single for Diaz two- two pitch Meyers takes on the outside corner strike three call the ball popped out of the mid of Mets catch of Francisco Alvarez B Meyers Frozen on the Outer Edge and there are two men away out just missed the outside corner for ball four so two strikeouts two walks two hits and now dubon playing first Spas tonight a position he hasn’t played a lot there’s another 3-2 and dubon hits one in the air to center field hangs up for Harrison Bader who backs up a few steps and he makes the catch so the bases are left loaded although the Astros did get one on the first pitch of the game ronell Blanco on the mound for the Astros he has had some great start to the year he looks like a guy that understands exactly what he’s trying to execute each time out way inside it’s ball four lindor’s on base again to begin a ball game there’s Ball Four backto back walks to begin the bottom of the first a quick scoring thread for the Mets really the last thing you want to do as a pitcher that’s going out there right after your team put a run on the board bounces this one off the pl toward third Blanco with a backand looked to third nobody was covering and everybody safe Blanco thought maybe bregman would stay home and potentially get an out on Lindor instead there’s a met at every base here come the mets yet again and it’s Pete Alonzo the Mets have averaged 6 and 1 half runs per game in the month of June and Alonzo and misses for strike three big pitch by ronell Blanco gets the first out of the inning you got to credit Blanco for sticking with this off speed he goes change up that dives down in a way one out now and the base is still loaded to bring Francisco Alvarez is it possible that the heartbeat of a team can be its 22-year-old catcher Alvarez pops one toward shallow Center Myers is there makes the catch Lindor tags he’ll come home let’s get the run back that altu gave the Astros at the top of the first first and it’s one to one Taylor HS it hard right at pñ and that ends the inning both starting pitchers through a lot of pitches in the first they each give up one run it’s 1-1 after one and he joins us here in the bottom of the second Jeremy how are you doing good how we doing fellas Jeremy take us through what happened here bad communication bad communication as we get one more look here it seems like Alex bregman was underneath that baseball and maybe assumed he heard footsteps or heard something that he didn’t quite hear and mcneel now stuck between first and second see a nice job of ryel Blanco being able to pick off sensing the movement over at first base and nice job of Mauricio duban staying with him with the rund down and sensing an opportunity to put the tag on him as well why not why not he expect to win and uh and that’s that’s all we ask for from manager all right Jeremy thanks a lot for join Jeremy say kintana he’s got a tough hitter to start off this third inning and yordon Alvarez yordon Alvarez lines one to right that’s a base hit as it bounces all the way to the wall Tyrone Taylor plays it in Alvarez digging for second base good throw and it is not in time a close play will not be reviewed it’s a double for Alvarez nice trop of Taylor getting to this ball knowing he’s got a little bit of time Alvarez with a good little you call that a sliping slide maybe kept something on the base at all times there he had his front foot went in then the back foot came on there’s a swing and ays by Myers for strike three so a leadoff double by Alvarez he’s still on second base two outs now here’s Jeremy Peña he walked his last time up little Loop toward left field nmo comes in for can’t get it fields on one up and fires to the plate Alvarez comes home and scores he gets ahead of the Alvarez tag so Jeremy Pia with a two- out base hit and the Astros are back on top it’s two to one yeah really nice job of Alvarez too being able to get a good secondary a second base Alvarez Off to the Races as soon as he sees this ball is touched does a nice job being able to get that slide in there a much better slide at home plate the Mets team right now is a Vibe and OMG is the reason why Jose glacius he wrote this song we’ll see if they use it tonight it’s their home run Anthem here’s a Fly ball out toward right center field from Taylor back out near the wall is mccor and it’s gone opposite field it goes for Tyrone Taylor tying the game at two they take it away Jose glaus Taylor’s overed in back to- Back Games H one against the Yankees on Wednesday drove that one out the other way to tie this one up two to two here in the top of the fifth inning yordon Alvarez leading off a double and a run scored tonight against Jose canano is nearing 100 pitches and Alvarez smacks one in the left field for a base hit this is what Alvarez is so good at doing just as a hitter using no man’s land now man in scoring position is alino throws one to the back stop and that ball actually got a piece of Meyers so Alvarez will have to stay at second base there’s a Fly ball hit toward left field pretty deep Nemo’s back for it he has some room shy of the one track he makes the catch racio Deon flies out to in the fifth aino helps Katana get through and it’s still two2 one man away pet Alonzo coming up even as the Mets have swallowed up opposing pitching Lonzo really hasn’t been a huge part of it onew on the way driven in the air deep to left side CER Meyers back and there it goes home run pet Alonzo he hit it just over the Great Wall of flushing beyond the 370 Mark in left center field the Mets are leading by a score of 3-2 OMG that was a long one knows as soon as he connects on this bad boy that ball is destroyed yelling let’s go into the first base Dugout two- oh on the way pulled on the ground left side off the glove of a diving pñ you trickles towards the left field Line near the top Alvarez is on his way to Second he’ll get in there easily standing well when pay you the shortstop Dove his mission was to smother that ball and keep it on the infield now it turned out he got a piece of it with his glove round ball bregman boots it everybody sa Mark Vientos reaches on an air and Alvarez goes to third yeah it looks like bregman just kind of Miss plated off the heel of the glove there maybe moving a little quicker than he wanted to towards first base but his momentum you got a big opportunity here now with two out Runners on first and third and he hooks one toward the right field Corner this ball is gone into the front row a three-run holder and Jeff mcneel has given the v a 6-2 lead Jeff mcneel rips his first home run at City Field this season whe the Eric came back to fite the Astros in the Big Apple so it’s just a guy that you know is going to have consistent power every single season there’s some of it as he lines one to the Gap in right center field the ball just flies off his b four times on base tonight two doubles for yordon Alvarez so one out Yer Diaz the batter there’s a slider there’s a slowly hit ball to third base gloving throwing save Yer Diaz beats it out bantos did all he could but Yer hustling and pretty darn fast beats it out for an infield single putting Runners on first and second strike three called at the bottom of the zone as Myers goes down looking he has struck out three times tonight he has not been happy with the strike zone of Jim wol somebody’s just been ejected as the manager of the Astros Joe ESP spot comes out to argue with Jim wolf I guess it was the manager as Myers is staying in The Dugout there’s a bouncing ball to the left side Vientos moves over to grab it off balance throw gets Jon and de nun puts up a zero excitedly in the top of the seven let’s have a one- out base runner for Harrison Bader Bader with the Fly ball toward right dubon chasing sliding and makes the catch throw to first and it is not in time a great play by duban well just an example of what versatility does for your team right duban being able to play first base now going out to the Outfield running the ball down great concentration staying with it Andor Bing right-handed here against the Lefty King now ball to the Gap and right center field by Lindor that falls in it bounces up against the wall mcneel racing around the bases heading for the plate he’ll make it RBI double Francisco Lindor and the Mets have a 7 to2 lead 16 and 15 the last time they were above 500 if they win tonight check swing three and the New York keep right on rolling they’ve defeated the Astros tonight 7 to2 and the Mets are feeling the Vibes right now well the New York Mets did not throw a no hitter tonight they did not clinch a playoff spot but they did wholeheartedly for candalina and the release of the song This audience in City Field couldn’t be more [Music] [Applause] excited God bless you all let’s have a great night I love you all let’s go new yor ohg congratulations to Jose glaus

  1. I've been saying for a couple months if FL JM & PA start hitting we will be rolling.. well we b steamrolling, I hope it's not too early, the best teams that go far are the late season teams & Mets have been way way off in that category & it seems every year I say the same thing, "but it sure if fun right now"
