Denver Broncos Athletic Rookie FREAK A Long Term Answer?

Denver Broncos Athletic Rookie FREAK A Long Term Answer?

there is exactly zero doubts in my mind that the Denver Broncos are going to be miles ahead of the 5 and a half game win prediction that Vegas has for them this year but to be good for years to come there are a ton of dudes who are in there last year with the Denver Broncos this year that we have to prioritize and decide what we’re going to do and today we are going to ask the question is our athletic freak the solution to what Bleacher Report said is our most needed extension candidate do we have money to throw to this position knowing that we’re eating Russ’s dead cap uh again a little bit next year so we’re going to break all that down and way more in this video if you’re new to this channel I’m Ben I’m a die hard Denver Broncos fan it helps me out a ton if you like the Broncos as well if you would like and subscribe uh so as a dad of four all the time I get things stuck in my head like baby shark or uh Let It Go or all these things and there was a hot second there in Denver where the thing that I had in my head all the time was holding number 72 and then all of a sudden Garrett Bulls snaps out and be goes from being just like a pariah for us in Denver to being a guy who’s like a stable part of this offense who we can count on and a left tackle who uh he’s not a game wrecker anymore and he’s not causing these egregious penalties and he’s really just been the picture of consistency he’s a guy who on the field and off the field is a leader and I’ve I’ve really gone from like being like John Elway what were you thinking you blew it man uh you drafted him he’s one of the oldest Broncos I’ve ever remembered uh being drafted he was 25 when he was drafted which just felt crazy uh and now all of a sudden he’s just been a constant starter here with the Denver Broncos and a fixture of an offensive line that at one point last year was ranked seventh according to Pro Football Focus and so he is one of the many many dudes who is going to be reaching into their bag to get a long-term deal and the question becomes what do we do at that left tackle position I think for bonick or Jared STM or whoever is the starter having a left tackle who you can count on all the time because of that whole Blindside mentality is critically critically important and we’ve seen teams like the Dallas Cowboys make their run because they have a great offensive line and that’s just a a a position I don’t want to take a massive step back into and so uh here’s this article that according to Bleacher Report of all the guys who need to get their deal they are saying that they think Garrett BS is the most important extension candidate for the Denver Broncos so um he would be commanding over $15 million a year if we were to give him a deal that’s like a top 10 deal I think if there’s any player in Denver who’d be willing to take a HomeTown discount Garrett Bulls just Raves about the fan base and Raves about how uh this fan base never gave up on him if if he was playing in a lot of other places I I remember there was times he was like booed on the field and they still always had his back uh despite that and so I could see him taking a deal that would be less than that um but the question becomes all right if it’s not Garrett bus if if we don’t give him the money who is lined up behind him and this is where things get really interesting so the Denver Broncos were able to after the draft was over reach out to a bunch of different candidates Blake Watson who we’ve broken down on this channel others and say hey come here and compete for a job and one of the players who we threw the most guaranteed money at was this undrafted offensive tackle from the University of Wyoming Frank crumb now Frank crumb is an athletic like freak absolute athletic freak his Raz score is off the chart he is 68 3113 pounds and you compare that to Garett Bulls only being 65 297 um and he was the uh tied for the second fastest 40 yard dash time of any NFL offensive lineman in last year’s combine he ran a 49440 which is like I think I weigh a buck 60 if I’m wet and I don’t think I could run a 49440 um and so like insane to have that kind of frame and to be faster than Bulls on every single one of these measures like you know right at where G Bulls is here they’re 10 yard shuttle split is very similar he’s a bit faster much more explosive with a almost a 32 in um vertical leap which is like an NBA player broad jump very similar to what gar bulls has um and you know the the one thing that seemed to be maybe a downside for him is strength that to only do that um 235 on the bench 22 times when you weigh 313 like that’s not he doesn’t have like as much upper body strength or maybe it’s just like the length the bar has to go it’s a little harder um but you know in NFL you’re blocking dudes Who weigh more than 235 like all the time and if you can only bench it 22 times maybe that’s showing he doesn’t have the kind of strength but the question becomes like how how nervous would that make you in Denver if we go from a perennial starter in Garett bus to a guy who didn’t even get drafted now I think the upside is uh the fact that we went out and targeted him of all the undrafted free agents is a very very good sign and I think if any coach could help him he obviously has the athleticism for it that he’s a better athlete and has better size and weight than Garett Bulls so then it’s all about what’s going on between the ears right and Zack strif being our offensive line coach who played tackle for Shawn Payton if anyone can help him break down the game and learn the game and learn the footwork I think it is going to be Zach strif and so that this is a a position I’m going to have my eyes glued on during the preseason is seeing how he develops because if if we see him have a great preseason and blocking for whoever that backup quarterback is that we aren’t seeing pressure and we’re seeing him rise to that occasion then I I think you could see Garrett Bulls walk um not because we we don’t want him here’s his his really fast 40 time um and like man this dude insane look at those luscious locks just flowing behind him so definitely an incredible athlete but the thing with the Denver Broncos is we’ve got a ton of dudes like I said who we need to figure out for next year so this time next year we’re going to be looking at all of these guys so Quinn Miner who has been really every single announcer who announces our game talks about the belly here and just saying he’s one of the best guards in the entire NFL and uh Denver Sports 1043 the fans said hey this should be our number one priority obviously to me our number one priority is the best corner in football we drafted him with a you know a first- round draft pick I think we definitely need to lock him down and then I agree here Baron Browning we were a different defense altoe when Baron Browning came back and that’s an underrated thing that no one seems to give him credit for but Vance Joseph talked about is like when Baron Browning came back healthy we were a totally different defense and uh you even hear Shawn pton talk about it that this time last year he hadn’t even talked to Baron Browning five total times and he talks to him five or six times a day now uh and so I think this is one of the reasons I’m really high on our defense this year is like we have Baron Browning healthy from the jump we’re knocking on wood that he’s staying healthy throughout the training camp and preseason and all that but look at all of these other guys so this is uh SP spot track here and these are all the Players whose contract expires this year so from this all the way up like that’s a lot of scrolling and there are some names on here that I’m like a little concerned about and I could see a world where um we’ll run out like we are set to have a lot of cap money next year I think we’re sixth in the league next year but we have so many guys who are towards the end of that contract that we got to figure out now I think if Jonas Griffith makes the type of jump that I’m thinking he’s going to make and it’s not really even a jump it’s just if Jonas Griffith stays healthy he will be unreal you guys and we signed him just to this oneye Pro it deal and so I could see us needing to pay Jonas Griffith money and then if we keep looking through here there’s a lot of names on here um you know we I think throck Morton is going to be um that could be the other candidate to fill in for bowls but from my friends who watched him play when he was with the Chicago Bears they they say he’s a Turn Style um but keeping looking up here a lot of these guys who we brought in just on oneyear deals are going to be playing special teams and I think we’ll get something else out of them Tim Patrick did us a solid and renegotiated his deal and it’s just a one-year deal and if he truly ends up being the standout like we think he will he’s going to need to get the bag next year um Michael Burton I think is gonna be like Shawn pyton is has a man crush on Michael Burton like I do on B Knicks and it it seems like he’s going to you know unless there’s another another fullback he’d rather carry that’s going to be here Cody Barton and Jonas Griffith are both on one-year deal so whichever one of those guys ends up being the the starter next to Singleton they are going to get the bag next year and and we’re not even to any of those people that 1043 The Fan listed and the Bleacher Report listed my other person that I think we need to sign is Jonathan Cooper I’m incredibly high on him and I think like I’ve said we have a platoon of outside rushers with Browning Bonito Cooper and Jonas Ellis and that’s going to be a position of strength this year and I can’t wait to shock the NFL with it so here’s where we’re starting to get into those positions that they’re prioritizing Browning Miner Sterns and Jonathan Cooper uh samaj perine might be a cut candidate uh javante I think we’re set at running back even if javante walks and so maybe you see the Denver Broncos trade javante to like the Cowboys during the preseason if Jalil truly is performing like every one said he was in OTAs and it looks like audri ese is good to go and we got peryan and we got Blake Watson you could see us getting a little value for javante um Jared stum last year heer you know because if if bone Nicks is awful and we’re horrible then you go get shidu or something this off season I do not Envision that whatsoever I Envision this team being turned over to B for the next decade then we got DJ Jones and and there’s B so we’ve got a lot of guys we got to figure out how we’re going to pay and uh there’s some creative stuff we can do salary cap wise with being able to front load bonuses and stuff like that but our our big cap money will dry up quickly and so preseason is going to be incredibly important to watch the depth and that will let us know like hey if crumb can do it then we don’t need to resign Bulls if Jonas Griffith doesn’t look that good and Cody Barton doesn’t look that good either then we go get a linebacker in the offseason but it’s going to be absolutely crazy uh a lot of stuff to be excited about because we believe [Music]

The Denver Broncos have a plethora of high-ceiling players entering the last year of their contracts. Given the need to handle Russell Wilson’s dead cap money, it’s unlikely the Broncos will be able to afford to pay everyone. The massive question going into training camp is who will get deals before the season even starts. Bleacher Report has stated that Sean Payton MUST sign Garrett Bolles to an extension. However, with Jonathon Cooper, Patrick Surtain II, Baron Browning, Quinn Meinerz, Jonas Griffith, Javonte Williams, and many more also entering the last year of their deals, this video prioritizes who I think the Broncos should sign.

We break down Frank Crum and discuss the slight possibility that offensive line coach Zach Strief could develop this athletic freak to pick up the left tackle mantle if the Broncos can’t find the cash to sign Bolles, Surtain, and Browning. Let me know in the comments how you’d prioritize extensions for this team going into next year.

  1. It took a LOT of years of spotty, penalty-filled football to get Bolles to be serviceable. Denver's right tackle McGlinchey will still be one of the worst pass protecting tackles in football (ranked 56th last year). The center will be a step-down. Hope that Wyoming kid pans out…
