[McMenamin] Rich Paul of Klutch Sports told ESPN that LeBron James has officially opted out with L.A. and will work with LAL on his next deal if it means adding an impact player: “He is prioritizing a roster improvement. He’s been adamant about exuding all efforts to improve the roster.”

  1. Lakers fans still want to hate on bron. He’s helping out so much. Go improve this roster rob. Make some trades

  2. Lebron’s a legend for doing this. Welcome to the Lakers Klay or Demar.

  3. This is confirmation pretty much lmao. Crazy. Went from doomers saying Bron is leaving to Rich Paul saying Bron wants a pay cut so Lakers can get an impact player via MLE.

  4. That’s great. Should be able to land an actual impact player

Also means lebron is going to directly yay/nay whoever the MLE signing is. Which means he indirectly will yay/nay any trade to open the roster spot for the MLE signing. Cant make a move expecting him to take the paycut without him saying “yes, I’d take a paycut for THAT roster”.

  5. I just don’t know who the Lakers could get. Y’all seem to forget rob needs the other team to dance as well. If every gm says reaves and all firsts Lakers will not do it unless it’s an incredible player which I don’t think is out there.

  6. Bron doing more to improve the roster than the bum GM being paid millions a year to do it ffs

  7. Yea now if any of our fans say we want Lebron gone because he doesn’t care about winning and he is just using our team to get whatever he wants and that’s it.. they should just stop watching and leave.

  8. Doesn’t matter when we keep giving minimum signings player options. You get stuck with a full roster and no one willing to work with Rob.

  9. This is why drafting Bronny was a no-brainer given the situation. Making LeBron happy, which ensures he stays and even takes a pay cut by drafting Bronny, is so much more valuable than the normal value of the 55th pick.

It would be funny if one of the guys drafted afterwards turns out to be a star lol.

  10. And then you’ve got D’Lo who opted in because he knows he’ll never get another pay day like this. D’Lo has never done anything in the interest of any team.

  11. Man LeBron has never shown this level of faith in any other team. Wonder why he trusts Rob and co so much compared to the rest

Regardless let’s go. I hope we can get someone good and then manage a trade to upgrade from dlo

  12. LFG. Behind the scenes, I could see the Lakers taking care of him. He signs a 3-year deal for $35M per season. Opts out of the 3rd season, and they pay him $60M+ for his retirement season.

  13. yes if rob is able to find a worthwhile player & deal then bron is willing to take 16M paycut – if there’s no deal out there then he’ll take his max 🤞🏾

  14. People keep talking about all the obvious names but I feel like we actually need Valanciunas before a third star 🤷🏽‍♂️

  15. I hope this makes other players WANT to come for MLE. There’s a real shot here at championship if we get the right person.

  16. You know who has a great LA contract? Ohtani. Maybe deferred could work?

  17. Dawg. My main concern is the FOs incompetency, tickets will sell even if they win or lose.

  18. Bout PG? Too expensive? Or trade Dlo for a two way guard.

This will be crazy off season for us.

  19. Was hoping this would be an option he would seriously consider, and glad he did. This should help but depends on who they sign with that extra $

  20. Bro…. he’s actually taking a pay cut to help the team. Given this will be his last contracts of his career, which is no small gesture. I said this in another comment but who would have though that the Lakers would end up playing such a huge role in his career? Cleveland of course, it’s his home town. Miami was for chasing rings. But the biggest impact to the game of basketball came while wearing the purple and gold where he broke records, won championships and made history.

Feel so blessed this dude decided to come to LA all those years ago

  21. Wants to sacrifice for a roster position but then pushed for his son to take one up. Okay. Wants who exactly , Klay or George They are not coming for sure

  22. I don’t follow the trade market that much but who are some noticeable people we need to try and pursue? Are we prioritizing 3-D type player or a big man to let AD play the 4 spot???
