  1. What a ninth for the ump….🙄 Neris was never getting out of that inning by himself

  2. Fuck whoever that home plate ump is. Fuck him very much. saving that awful pitchers ass three batters in a row.

  3. This sort of felt like a game nobody deserved to win, but we also got the business at the end which I am getting sick of saying

  4. Just win the series tomorrow. Winnable game but some frustrating calls and plays cost this one. Hopefully we get good Peralta tomorrow and bad Hendricks.

  5. Biggest takeaways from the game:

    1. Robo umps. Now.
    2. No more Payamps in high leverage situations.
    3. Still in 1st by 6.5 games.

  6. Easy to blame the umps, but ultimately this game came down to subbing Payamps into a situation everyone could see going poorly from a mile away. He’s not a high leverage pitcher this year.

Otherwise, eh. Shit happens. Hope Adames can get out of his mini slump soon.

  7. So I am not shocked that the Brewers once again were on the loosing end from the umps.

  8. I find the “UMP?!?!“ posts that appear in every game thread 74 times a night obnoxious, but that ninth inning was shameful. Black, who had an absolute monster of at bat, struck out on ball 5, and “strike” 2 to Turang will be one of the worst calls of the season.

Tennis-style reviews on ball-strike calls now. Take the emotional excitement of ringing someone up because they correctly spat on a good pitch that is a ball away from these clowns. It’s a very difficult job, but you’re also supposed to be one of the 150 best people in the world at it, and you’re paid accordingly, so I have no sympathy.

  9. Payamps looking up to the heavens and asking a distant relative for forgiveness. Ump should do the same for that 9th.

  10. Tonight is my last night in NYC before moving back to Milwaukee. Watched the gamecast at my favorite bar with two close friends. Wish it would have ended differently.

  11. tbh it wouldn’t be a Cubs series if Ian Happ didn’t open a can of whoop-ass on us

  12. That Payamps inning was just pure sadness. He needs to get it together.

  13. An escalator just collapsed at AmFam, my friend is there, he says there’s EMT’s everywhere

  14. If you have friends or family at the game please check on them, just found out there was a major accident in the stadium

  15. Who else was at the game? Did anyone see what happened with the escalator? I heard the screaming. The escalator apparently gave out and people got trampled

  16. Just got off the escalator before it collapsed, it was going a good 5-10 seconds before it stopped. I wasn’t there long enough to know if someone was seriously injured because we were trying to move people through. Had a friend who got caught in it and cut his heel. Hope no one has a life threatening injury. They def have a lot of lawsuits coming it was truly terrifying.
