  1. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

Hey Cleveland subreddit people, please make sure you don’t do what other people did today and venture to other team subreddits to be angry <3<3 if you go elsewhere, look only, no commenting or up/downvoting

Kwan stats- 248/251 PA to qualify, now hitting .371

Tanner Bibee may have been a tad susceptible to the long ball early, but settled in and did his thing once again. Bibee ends with a line of 6IP, 4H, 2R, 0BB, and 3K on 00 pitches. Both runs came off of the long ball, and this ended up being a beautiful quality start.

Offense finally got back into the swing of it today, with 7 runs off of 9 hits, 3 walks, and one HBP (Freeman takes the lead over Gimmy 13-12). 🎄does it again with his second Jhonk Bonk since being called up, with this one being a 2 run blast (that has no anger online anywhere). 💨 gets back into the swing of it with a pair of doubles, 🐐 hits a solo blast and a double, and Kwan gets his regularly scheduled multi hit game with two singles.

Big dogs today out of the pen, and with everybody having some good rest, might as well. Hentges(0.2IP), K’d Smith(0.1IP), Gaddis(1IP), and Barlow(1IP) combine to go 3IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, and 7K.

Got a notification CJ Kayfus hit an RBI double as I went to open the MiLB app to find some positives, great timing. Think we’ll go with that, as he is now hitting .342 in Akron across 21 games, along with a 1.128 OPS.

  2. Huge win to avoid the sweep. Bibee settled in beautifully and the offense came back with a vengeance. Need the series split tomorrow.

Side note: If Jhonk is legit he could be the outfield power bat this team has needed for so long.

  3. Place: 1st

    Division lead: 7.5

Games to play: 81 (WELCOME TO THE HALFWAY POINT)

    Division magic number: 74

    Playoffs magic number: 73

First round bye magic number: 74

    Current pace: 104-58

    BONUS STATS AND MUSINGS:

Number of people who thought the Guards would have the best record in the AL halfway through the season: 1 (that person was Stephen Vogt)

It’s hard to believe that Cleveland isn’t about to cruise its 3rd AL Manager of the Year Award in the last 8 years at this rate.

  4. Thank you Guards, same thing tomorrow please

We’ll beat up the Yanks again for everyone as payment

  5. Boys came through with the 2 out RISP hitting finally. Solid win against their ace. Even when Bibee in all honesty has maybe his B- stuff today. Get the split tomorrow and go 4-3 on this road trip.

  6. Do we still have to blow the team up and focus on next season instead because we were down 2-1 extremely early on?

  7. Also, of course the Royals would start being competent right when we need the wins from them (referring to the last two games before this)

Let’s just get the split and regroup on our off day

  8. Can’t keep a good thing down for long

Jhonk’s aura made that bomb fair we’re going with that

  9. We live in a world where fans of other teams in the division honestly believe that the umpires and league are in the tank for baseball’s golden boys…the (checks notes) Cleveland Guardians?

In a season full of pleasant surprises and strange twists, this is one of the most entertaining ones. I honestly can’t stop laughing…

  10. Didn’t catch the game but I’m seeing a lot about this Noel HR.

Isn’t it a HR even if it hits the foul pole?

  11. I always said if we can go 4-3 in this stretch I’d take it. Hopefully we can win tomorrow to do it.

  12. Tanner Bibee is our ace and I absolutely love it.

Need to stop the losing streak and give the offense a chance. Pitched 6 innings and only gives up two runs.
