update so essentially Bruce Brown if you guys haven’t been following has a contract entering this off season that the Raptors had the option to pick up and pay him $23 million next season for and WJ came out recently and said that the Toronto Raptors are picking up that $23 million option this is not new news we’ve already covered this on the channel and W even directly said he’ll be a valuable trade asset on an expiring contract for the Toronto Raptors and now given the fact that Bruce Brown that’s a lot of money for Bruce Brown who is a guy that is definitely an awesome basketball player I don’t want all of this trade speculation this trade discussion to come out and make it seem like I am not a fan of this guy’s game I think he’s very good but age-wise timeline wise and the fit in terms of the roster that we currently have it doesn’t really make sense he’s not the perfect sort of puzzle piece to fit inside the St Raptors group right now and given that and given how he fits he’ll take away minutes from younger players and his contract will eat into guys like Gary Trent Jr’s contracts being up and available for this off season there been a lot of speculation about whether or not he’ll get traded you know coming into next year and basically uh Michael range came out with a report revealing that he’s had some discussions with League Executives that are projecting exactly that so speaking with the league Source who expects the Raptors have a destination in mind for Bruce Brown otherwise why as has been pointed out elsewhere with Bruce Brown on the books the Raptors cannot sign Gary Trent Jr and or even use the full midlevel exception so whether or not they’re bringing back Gary no matter what camp you’re in or not they fact that if they have Bruce Brown on the roster they can’t use their full mle which means that they don’t have the opportunities to take a look at a guy like Jaylen Smith or Sadi Bay or other guys out there in free agency that I’m going to discuss in another video and Bruce Brown at that $23 million range as I kind of Gess up like his stats aren’t bad he’s not a bad player by any stretch of the imagination I mean looking at his stats here 11 points four rebounds three assists he’s a guy that can be a valuable piece to a competitor but you know with his lack of three-point shooting doesn’t really fit the style of play around RJ Barrett around a Scotty Barnes and uh 27 28 years old he not crazy crazy young to we hoping that jump shot just develops like crazy so a lot of eyes are pointed to Bruce Brown getting D that’s just what a lot of people are looking at but Bruce Brown has kind of come out himself and tried to shut down those rumors he went out of fan you know the other day I broke it down in a video where he essentially said hey y’all really don’t want me back and it’s not that I don’t want you back it’s just you know fitwise it doesn’t really make sense so maybe I guess we don’t want him back but Bruce Brown came out on a live stream recently and said he’s really excited to get back to Toronto to get back with the Raptors and everyone thought that he’d be frustrated being in Toronto and he’d want to leave and all these sorts of things but he’s excited to get a feated to Tim Hortons and drop back to Toronto and he loves the city he loves the place so Bruce Brown is talking like he’s going to return and uh get back to the Toronto Raptors but you know Raptors fans it’s been all over the place in terms of the reports and what’s coming out so we’ll see what’s going down but League insiders expect the Toronto Raptors to already have a destination in mind for the Toronto Raptor shooting guard so keep your eye out on all that we’ll keep you up to date with everything regarding Bruce Brown situation but we also have a crazy Team Canada update and again this is important because we’re all looking to Team Canada right now as it’s the Olympic time right the Raptors the Raptors team Canada has a chance to go really far in the Olympics this year it’s the best roster were ever Fielding you know for an Olympic Games and we want to maximize the talent that we have in that group so it was really disheartening it was really it just sucked when we heard the report that came out that essentially Andrew Wiggins is out of the Canadian Olympic picture according to a source the Golden State Warriors are playing hall Hall hard ball with the veteran and they are looking that they are looking to move Canadian team opens Camp later tonight so this is coming from Doug Smith who essentially reported that uh the guy Andrew Wiggins right who averaged 13 points per game four rebounds two assists won an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors an elite Wing Defender yes he hasn’t been that amazing you know particularly this most recent season but definitely would be would be one of the better players on this team Canada roster entering the Olympic Games he can shoot the three he can defend at an extremely high level and this team candle roster is loaded absolutely loaded at the guard position but uh you know right now in terms of what we have regarding the front court it’s not as deep as what we have with Shay gildas Alexander RJ Barrett Jamal Murray and these types of guys this is why Andrew Wiggins is extremely crucial valuable to this team Canada roster the fact that he can’t play is just an extreme disappointment to anyone that’s kind of been following this group following this team and all orowan Barrett who kind of manag Team Canada basketball I’m trying to bring up that image right here but yes he came out and said that Wiggins was cleared and ready to go to for camp but got a call from the Warriors a few days ago saying that they’re holding him out from what I see it’s not an Andro decision it’s from the team so that’s what’s happened the Golden State Warriors are keeping him barring him from playing for Team Canada I’ve heard different reports that Andrew Wiggins was really eager to play for Team Canada his parents his mom specifically was an Olympian so he really wanted to have that opportunity to represent Team Canada on that Olympic age and now is getting prevented by it by the Golden State Warriors now he’s played with Team canon in the past sometimes sometimes he hasn’t you know not the most committed guy to Team Canada but has played for uh Team Canada years prior so I genuinely believe Andrew Wiggins really wants to play apparently he’s extremely disappointed in this decision and frankly this is just super whack because again whether they’re not they’re trading him whatever’s going on along those lines that is what it is but the Golden State Warriors always let Steph they let clay they let Draymond they let all of these dudes play for Team USA year after year season after season Steve Kerr spent some time as the head coach of the USA you know I don’t know if Olympic team but definitely feba sort of groups FBA rosters he has a tight relationship with gray papovich who also has a lot of swaying influence there and I would not be shocked because again trade-wise like is that a reason to keep a guy maybe out of the feba Olympic feba Games whatever the Olympics the biggest tournament out there in basketball where Team Canada has the best roster they’ve ever fielded in Canadian basketball basketball history right they’re going to hold out Andrew Wiggins for some Dar on those lines that seems really shady that seems really sketchy and that’s just a bush League move to do by Steve cerr to do by The Warriors front office and I am not happy about it I think that is complete and utter stupidity that is Ridiculousness the USA they they plucked away Joel embiid from Cameroon from France they’re just putting together a super team despite the fact they had that population they have this crazy Squad and now they’re were resorting to weird tactics like this to you know knock down one of their biggest probably their biggest competitor out there in these Olympic games that is stupid that is utter dumbness and the Olympic Games the committee they should be able to look into this and say hey what’s going on here if there’s any Shady business because frankly this all smells a little bit whack to me I want to see team kennada get these W’s get these wins you rolling up to these Olympic Games and I don’t know the fact that they’re just doing all this crazy stuff I know it’s not specifically the USA But frankly if Steve Kerr is involved in this decision USA has some sort of sway in terms of what’s going on the fact that this is going on right now is completely whack in my eyes and hopefully he gets changed or the Golden State Warriors just trade this man maybe we deal Bruce Brown for him right now and uh just make it all get wigets just so we can play for Team Canada maybe that’s more incentive to get a deal going the conspiracies are flying and whatnot but frankly I am I’m frustrated I can see that the Warriors are concerned about Wiggins playing in Paris. He has been injured a ton in the last two seasons. Wiggins not playing for Canada does move the needle anyway.
What do you think it would take to trade Bruce B for Dillon Brooks? I would be OK with 2028 & 30 second round picks or send the worst of our or Indiana’s 2026 first for their best second round pick in 2026???

Blocking a player from the olympics when they an important piece to one of your better opponents in order to not risk injury when that player is more likely to improve his stock than get injured because he's been one of the least injury-prone players in the league for the past 10 years?

Who out there is significantly better than Bruce Brown that is ACTUALLY available. If I’m Toronto I’m saving the cap space for Moses Moody next summer or wait the following year for Benedict Mathurin.
Wiggins is injury prone and if I was the Warriors i’d do the same. They aren’t getting much trade offers to take Wiggins horrible contract for his production.
