  1. Positive update from Chris Johnston and Pierre LeBrun. About 27 hours out from free agency, this is one of the more positive updates we’ve heard in a while. Bultman also had a seemingly positive blurb in his article tonight on Kane and Yzerman’s interest.

    >Yzerman said Saturday the team still would love to get [Patrick Kane](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/nhl/player/patrick-kane-0Z82bVOGMbWoqDWD/) signed. “That’s our first priority,” he said, though it should be noted the context there was in direct response to a question about Kane and the top-six winger need if he were to depart.

Hopefully, we can get this wrapped up by July 1st.

  2. Stamkos-Compher-Kane could be a real interesting 2nd line. Would have to be some cheap contracts. But could see it.

  3. $15 of the $32 to Raymond and Mo, $5 for Kaner, $12 for everybody else seems a little tight but we’ll make it work.

I’m nervous to see Yzerman sign a high priced free agent, but we’re likely getting at least another $5M dman or winger… the idea is that they are better than Chiarot/Copp.

  4. Get it done!! Have a jersey waiting for customization and I’m delaying it for Kane if he resigns. If he doesn’t, it may go to Razor

  5. Good. Now in just a few days we can shut all these people up and Kane will be a Wing again.

  6. Haven’t been following as closely but is there any possibility of both him and Stamkos? That’d be insane

  7. The Wings were 23-22-5 with Kane, and 18-10-4 without him.

Your integrity is compromised if you’re hoping he’ll be back.

  8. I just want to point out, that it benefits Kane or his agent in no way what-so-ever to say anything but,
“we want to sign in Det.”

I’m just saying, it does not behoove them to say otherwise from a negotiations standpoint.

  9. Yet again the media doesn’t usually like to speak it as it is for clicks, this seems as if the plan has been steadily Detroit it’s just trying to agree on a term.

And as a person in media I hate that this is how we favour things.

  10. I have a copy of the very hungry caterpillar if Kane is interested. It couldn’t get Eric Staal here but maybe it’ll work on Kane

  11. I mean, of course the intention is to work something out. You don’t negotiate with the intention of NOT doing that.
