Someone thought we could sign Brook Lopez last year. Some of the fanbase just doesn’t understand how the cap works

I honestly would welcome tanking and getting picks. Get as much as we can for Jimmy.
I want to believe that we can do it. But Jimmy is in the tail end of his career and we don’t have a truly reliable second scorer.
I want to be proven wrong and win. But seeing a team like Boston do moves to get better and winning the championship, pains all of us tremendously. Hell even the Knicks are getting better.
it sucks cause i know the front office has too much pride to take a step back to try and get better for the future. if we can’t swing a trade for a star (which is very likely) id trade jimmy and retool. like dude we’re relying on our 35 yr old injury prone star player to play 70+ games for the first time since 2016. it feels like we’re headed to another play in game and we just have to watch it play out again. i hope they at least try to make some changes this offseason i don’t even mean one for a star obviously that’s ideal but unlikely just try to get better role players. this offseason is gonna probably confirm to me about what i’ve felt about the front office and that’s its time for change regardless of how this season goes. idc if jimmy somehow stays healthy and we end up getting a top 5 seed and make another finals run. i’l know everything i need to know abt this front office if we head into the season with the same roster
Seems like a lot of fans watch other East teams sign stars and build super teams like the Celtics and think we can do it too. We are completely strapped for cap and locked into some really rough contracts. There is no saving it besides offloading these contracts for mediocre return which isn’t possible while we still live in the Jimmy era.
I remember Pat still meeting up with Lamarcus Aldridge when the team back then don’t even have any cap space lmao. You better believe the Heat will still entertain George if their camp decides they wanna meet up with the Heat FO lol
We’re in way too big of a hole to dig out with the current cap space.
We don’t have a point guard. We don’t have a point of attack defender. We don’t have a bench unit ball handler. We _might_ have a backup 5 if Kel’el pans out, and if not, we don’t have a serviceable backup 5.
