Rangers vs. Orioles Game Highlights (6/29/24) | MLB Highlights

it’s the rookie Kate Povich on the mound for the Orioles again his fifth Major League start seeking his first big league win the 24-year-old from Nebraska here’s Cory Seager hitting 258 14 homers 36 runs baded him Lefty against Lefty lifts one deep to right field that looks like it’s on its way and it is gone Cory Seager right on Q with a banger to right and the Rangers Strike first his 15th of the Season Anthony santand there the right fielder did not move and there are two outs for ades those are some bright shoes Adam wow same dealer perhaps I see poic with the orange it matches the or Garcia doesn’t really match so good and he ropes a breaking ball down the line it is a fair ball so the Rangers who over the last five games have 38 hits and 31 singles have started their night tonight with two extra base hits in the first two strike offering he goes back to the breaking ball and he’ll leave ad does standing Michael lenen was an All-Star last year with the Detroit Tigers and he has had a similar first half with the Rangers this year a 4 and3 record of 304 ER opposing batters hitting just 213 against Michael defensive swing into Center Hill makes the catch excellent job in center field by Derek Hill just a soft little floater and Hill charging the ball all the way makes a terrific diving stop Hearn left-handed batter hitting 279 bouncing ball to the right side snared by low flipped to Lorenzen and a seven pitch inning with some solid defense a onew pitch and low lifts one down the right field line towards the corner santand over and that one is off the wall so how about the Texas Rangers trying to find some slug they have three extra base hits so now the nine hitter Derek Hill who’s made an impact already with some good defense former first round pick of the Tigers rolls one over to the left side and Ramon oras with the throw it’s stretch by oarn and that’ll retire the side home half of the second and Anthony santand who’s hit as many home runs as any player in baseball this month 12 home runs in the month of June to lead the major leagues the Orioles have hit 58 this month santand there makes it 59 and this game is tied the Orioles set a new franchise record for home runs in a month the hottest man in June stays even hotter and we’ve got a one-run ball game and kurad did not go around Cory Blazer the crew chief says it’s ball four and cowser who continues to Pace rookies with 12 home runs there’s an off speed pitch gets him with that nasty change up right on Q two down for Cedric Mullins ooh oh we inside and got a clip of puts a man in scoring position and kirston just tries to throw this one a little bit too hard and it just Nicks the city connect Jersey there now Ramon uras who’s over for his last 13 they’ll send one off the end of the bat towards right center field Hill and Garcia are over it is Hill to finish off the frame ad dois drilled a double down the left field line his first time up big cut by Garcia he’s down on strikes kovich fans his second of the night 02 breaking ball into right field so the breaking ball has been the pitch of choice for this Ranger team that as we told you has struggled hitting the fast ball this year there’s the first single of the night on the four hits and they are all four on breaking balls boic working in the stretch with a two- out base runner at first this one rolled over to Second Westberg one hit Povich Works around it he has thrown four Innings Lorenz are only a hit couple of batters all year has hit two today breaking ball Tor short through the hole a base hit for westbr so the first two batters have reached for cowser and he struck out his first time up little dribbler to the right side off the bat of cower could be too semi in Seager to low and they turn it this time it is a double play for Texas on the third goes kab but there are two down Mullins lifts a breaking ball pops it up Smith is over and this should do it the Orioles will leave a man at third base here’s Derek Hill he grounded to third his first time up made a tremendous diving catch on a rushman sinking liner in the first Hill lifts one out deep left center field racing out his Mullins all the way to the track and dere Hill has his first home run of the Season he has been impactful tonight first with the glove now with the bat and the Rangers with another solo shot another extra base hit avoiding the fast balls they’re getting after the off speed pitches of poic tonight two two Simeon swinging a Miss reaches out after a Povich sweeper and another strike out for the Southpaw so it’s two outs and nobody on Seager got it started for the Rangers his solo shot in the first that one came inside they have to check to third to see if Seager went around Blazer says no but now the concern is with Seager he’s not even moving toward first base he’s going right down the Dugout steps x-ray came back negative no fracture more than likely will be held out tomorrow Davis wizel now will check in for Seager who’s done for the after getting hit by that pitch here’s Josh Smith cower is in and that will retire the side Hills Home Run is given Texas the lead but it comes in an inning with a cost Seager immediately after getting hit by that pitch on his birthday gets a base hit towards left Center he’s looking for extra bases play it second he is safe that extends the on base streak for gunar Henderson to 36 straight games it’s the the longest Baltimore orial on base streak in 15 years one and two on Rutman and he takes called strike three a nasty looking fast ball with some run back to the inside corner for Lorenzen and he gets the strike out of Rutman the bases are loaded a double and two walks in the frame can they cash in on Lorenzen it’s the silent J hon Kad with the chance in the air right center field backing on it Garcia Hill at the track he’s at the wall and it’s out of here a gr slam and the Texas native puts the Orioles on top on their 60th home run in June a little history in Grand fashion here’s grman ropes one down the right field line that’s into the corner of Fair ball and Robbie Gman now turning around about left-handed will Cruise in with a two-out double and another extra base hit for the Rangers that’ll bring up Nathaniel LOM two out base runner and a threat for the Rangers towards that same spot left center field long run for Mullins and he will not get there it’s out of here at the very edge of the wall right at that 376 marker a two-run shot with two outs and this is a one-run game five home runs tonight have a counted for all nine runs in this game here’s a switch hitting back stop Jonah Heim he’s down on strike Baker stops the swell Ryan Mount Castle the pinch hitter Dane Dunning the new hurler righty on righty to one is on the ground towards the hole in short of base hit in the scoring position goes Rutman and two are aboard here in the seventh for Anthony sand there down the left field line towards the corner Langford long run all the way to the track he won’t get there and it skips into the seats it’s a ground rule double that will score Rutman and Baltimore’s lead is two and RBI for sand there on a double the other way Rangers will opt to intentionally walk kirst out who hit the Grand Slam to give them that 5 to2 lead back in the fifth now there’s a force at every base and a double play ball potentially attack with westbr coming up and it’s swung on and missed that’s a big second out for Texas here in the seventh Dunning trying to keep this game where it’s at base is loaded two down in the seventh bouncing ball to first grabb by low finds Dunning coming over to cover up the bag to retire cower and the here in the seven and here is adolis who has doubled struck out and grounded to short Garcia lifts this one deep to left center field towards that cutout area all the way to the wall and it’s gone another big fly in this game and this one a solo shot from Garcia his second hit of the series both solo homers and again it’s a one-run game CNL Perez threw 19 pitches last night Lefty Lefty matchup against the norfol Virginia native Nathaniel low who’s already homered tonight one another fast ball and he flares it in the left field that will get down in front of cower and the go-ahead run is on base for Texas the tying run is in scoring position with two outs himim just seven for his last 42 trying to come up with a base hit to try to tie this game in the top of the eighth inning against Perez in the air right center field Mullins ranging back to the track near the wall he’s got it Orioles remain in front Insurance runs on base Henderson at second Rudman at first the two out single and walk respectively veteran David Robertson the righty takes over on the mound to releve Dane Dunning after an inning and a third on the ground towards second semian is able to knock it down pick up and throw to first in time to get Mount Castle and end the inning that’s a gold Glover for you there a game of milliseconds we head to the n Kimbrell comes in trying to make it saves on backto back knights with a one-run Advantage way outside and the tying run is on base with nobody out for Texas plenty of jump off the back from tarz that is his ninth stolen base in 11 tries this year the Rangers are just one for six with runners in scoring position they’ve left six on base it’s high for ball four not by much tying run still at second the go-ahead run is aboard in Smith and here comes Garcia Garcia I up in the air and Craig Kimbrell backto back saves and it’s number 436 to take hold of fifth all time the Orioles take the series a 65 win over the Rangers [Music]

  1. Love these summaries every morning after listening to the games at 1 am here in Spain on @Orioles Birdwatcher here on Youtube where I'd otherwise not get the game, except through illegal means. These are the only summaries I've found not AI generated slashed-up junk.

If you stop in on Birdwatcher, tell him thebookdoc sent you. I've got nothing to do with the channel except it lets me stay connected as a fan without struggling to find a stream, and as a 50+ year fan of the Os, I want him to succeed. Much as I love Palmer and MacDonald and Brown, MLB doesn't want to cultivate that new fan base by opening the airwaves. I grew into a fan listening to WBAL on Long Island (200 miles as the crow flies) — where the choices were Mets or Yankees. They are suffocating the sport with their push for exclusivity and stomping on the future of the sport.

Go O's. WS or bust. This will be one of the greatest dynasties in the history of baseball.

  2. 10:10 I’ve never seen a pitcher stand straight up while his catcher tries to throw to 2nd on a steal. Kimbrel is struggling already so it’s unacceptable for him to lack effort as well imo

  3. How did Kjerstad hit a fastball off the plate in on his hands over the fence when he connected with the ball while his arms were bent at his elbows. I thought home runs required full extension and barrel with around 30 degrees of a launch angle? How did he muscle it over the wall at 39 degrees at 144 feet in the air? Remember, from a scouting perspective, Heston is supposed to be a better hitter than Gunnar, Adley, Cowser, Holliday, Westburg, Rutsch, Mayo and Mounty, especially for power / slugging. He looks comfortable and confident in the box, he looks intimidating as f*** because he’s a mountain of a human. If we could get Holliday into the outfield and Kjerstad/Westburg and Mounty to be able to play first, third and DH we would be set for real. If Kjerstad could play third as well as westy or first as well as Mounty and Mounty play third as well as westy, imagine how good the defense would be while the lineup would be relentless.
    1. Gunnar SS
    2. Rutsch C
    3. O’Hearn DH
    4. Mounty 1B/3B
    5. Santander RF
    6. Kjerstad 1B/3B
    7. Westburg 2B
    8. Cowser LF
    9. Mullins CF

Call up Mayo to split DH with O’Hearn for righty/lefty splits. Hays/Mateo/Urias on the bench in October with Mayo or O’Hearn. 30+ HR power 1-9, speed on the bench, great pinch hitters on the bench, great defense on the bench.

  4. Beautiful win. Povich's 1st MLB WIN! Silent J's 1st Grand Slam. Tony Tater's 13th June dinger. O's 61st homer in a month. 4 game winning streak after a 5 game slump. Sole possession of 1st Place in the AL East. The season is still young, but I like how this team handles adversity. "WE'll be alright". How do the Yankees handle adversity? Temper tantrums and showing up teammates, and sports media calls it raw emotion that might be a catalyst to them winning…ONE GAME!! Raw whoop @$$ by Blue Jays today!! Enjoying this season again!! Lets Go O's!!

  5. Heston AKA Silent J needs to play everyday. His plate presence is incredible. He’s barely been here and I’m ridiculously confident in him, I get excited when he comes up especially in a big spot and he came up huge when the crowd was at its loudest, the moment was biggest and in the middle of a “let’s go O’s” chant he hit a grand slam, if that’s not a sign what the heck is?
