Reaction to Minnesota Vikings Rookie Sandwiches 🥪🥪🥪

[Music] what’s going on Jer romes so the Minnesota fight and Vikings uh entertainment division uh ven has been they’ve been really fantastic uh recently putting out great contact uh really getting to know some of the personalities of these players and they recently put out a uh a rookie sandwich making contest or Clip Clips of it and wanted to go through and talk about some some of the rookie sandwiches because I know my way around a sandwich a little bit rubenesque so I definitely have some thoughts and some feelings and plus the sandwich really is like like the perfect lunch or or or or light dinner just looking at it where you can have big bold flavors you can have protein you can have carbs you can have texture you can have acid you can have everything man everything right so you know so first off of course JJ McCarthy so JJ mcarthy the uh nice little deli sandwich in his words as well as the chicken cutlet on there now toasted bread so it looks like he only toasted the one side of the bread which I actually respect because when you toast both sides it just turns into a piece of toast right but if you toast one side you still get that uh soft side but you get the texture with the crunchiness of the seared side but you still get like the soft innards you know what I mean cuz otherwise you’re just having a toast sandwich right uh so got the chicken cutlet on there got the lettuce and tomato underneath now I am very much Pro let lettuce and tomato underneath uh the meat or substance of of the sandwich now it looks like he’s got a piece of cheese on the cutlet uh maybe some bacon or a piece of ham on top of the cheese respect uh also looks like he’s got some thick cut turkey which if if you get yourself some deli turkey where it’s actually like thick cut where it’s almost like Thanksgiving slices that that’s fantastic man now I I would have juxtaposed the lettuce and the turkey uh because like I said I’m a big uh you lettuce and tomato and whatnot underneath but have the lettuce on the bottom part of the bread because it creates a buffer uh between the the juices of the Tomato the juices of the deli meat or as well as the um the steam uh coming from like a hot uh hot piece of meat of the cutlet so that way it keeps the structural Integrity of the bottom piece of the bread because that that’s always thing sandwich is a ticking Time Bomb of consuming it before everything just turns into mush especially if it’s a hot sandwich especially if there’s uh liquid elements uh in in um you know put into the sandwich whether it’s tomato whether it’s pickle whether it’s whatever uh so yeah it’s my own it’s my that’s my only um it’s my only critique plus I I I’m also a big advocate of having the lettuce whole or you know folding over a slice of iceberg lettuce uh and that uh holds true with sandwiches that holds true with um with Burgers as well because again creating that buffer and keeping the Integrity of that bottom bun but overall it’s pretty good it’s pretty good now uh Trey Knox uh udfa tight end from South Carolina Arkansas this one looks really good now so it’s a a a chicken cutlet sandwich uh on toasted chabata bread so I love me some bread I I feel like chabata is the the perfect bread for perfect bread SL perfect bun for a sandwich because well first off you have to toast it like raw or not raw but like untoasted chabata is basically peasant food uh but it’s so good like all the nooks and crannies are are good too like if you apply a sauce although I I am definitely team sauce on the side because then if you if you put just put the sauce on top of a sandwich it can squish out especially determining how how you laid your sandwich but if you have the sauce on the side you can put a little something on there with every single bite making sure that there is sauce on every bite and if if you’re not getting Saucy with every single bite like what’s the point of living but uh chicken cutlet looks good uh I’m sure they’re the same chicken cutlet from the you know from the Vikings kitchen stuff but I mean Trey knox’s cutlet looks a lot more appetiz sizing and and thick thicc than JJ McCarthy now I I I I don’t I I I don’t think that the the guys were individually frying up their own chicken cutlets so this could just be luck of the draw but McCarthy come on man come on you’re first round pick Trey KNX trying to make this team but this sandwich could go a long way man uh so he’s got the chicken cutlet uh he’s got look looks like either ham or bacon on there also to melted cheese that’s key too because it looks like McCarthy just slapped his cheese on there didn’t melt it you got to melt the cheese like if it’s a hot sandwich application melt that cheese uh you could you know broil it you could take the torch to it you could do a a lot of things now my only critique is so it looks like it looks like there’s spinach on there it looks like the spinach is is dressed so it may be dressing or it may just wilted uh from the the Heat and steam from the chicken cutlet and I yeah I I I like spinach but not in a sandwich application because I feel like it doesn’t add anything because it doesn’t provide the crispness of like a Iceberg or a bib lettuce or even a Roma uh in a pinch uh but so there’s not really any texture not really any flavor uh well it does add texture but it adds like a sliminess but like if it gets basically steamed between The Toasted Bun and the hot piece of chicken so yeah uh but also does look like there’s some uh red peppers in there maybe pickle peppers um something good either way I’m I’m I’m liking this one I I’m liking the looks of this one that that looks fantastic man next so Spencer Roland local dude uh hav as well as North Carolina making up a cheese steak so uh he said something about uh like a chili lime uh aoli grilled flank steak I mean cheese steaks are really good man and so I like that he went hard in the paint uh with an acid on there too because I feel like you with cheese sticks I feel like that you can just get overwhelmed with the cheese and the steak you need a little bit of acid to cut some of that richness of the sandwich uh have a little contrast it’s good um looks like he might have some avocado on there too looks really good plus I I like when you have Philly cheese steaks where the bread is pretty thin right so but it’s it’s Hardy enough where it’ll hold up to like all the juices and the steam coming off of the meat but nothing worse than a Philly cheese steak where there’s too much bread you know what I mean like like the steak and the cheese is supposed to be the star of the show uh so I think this good I was really really really good job by the udfa offensive lineman lastly from the video so Kyrie Jackson now this is a spot of KN in your audience so he made a juicy Loosey there’s cheesee in the middle yeah uh so so you know Kyrie’s not from here he’s not even from the Midwest um so him knowing about the Juicy Lucy that’s him doing homework it says a lot about him man also he you think that Kyrie Jackson would have a inside track on the sandwich contest because he he worked in Deli famously but the juicy looks good now he may have gone a little bit overboard to ensure that it was cooked through uh because the burger does look a little bit dry uh also uh you know one of his teammates chimed in as well said that’s dry ass burger it’s funny man but I I I respect that the cheese uh cheese looking good plus o this is key so not only did he put cheese in the middle he put cheese on top I I feel like sometimes people miss that uh with the juicy Loosey uh but then you know construction wise looks like he’s got some bacon on the bottom maybe a little bit tomato uh also he he’s got he’s got the the layer of the iceberg lettuce uh which is smart which we talked about before uh looks like he used uh you know some sort of Texas toast uh looks pretty thick looks like he grd I think he griddled both sides but you know no hate here but e either way like I said that’s it’s it’s pretty fantastic and uh even if is a little bit you know overdone I feel like it’s perfectly fine just that Ooey gooe it’s good to go also they set it’s well seasoned so I I feel like sometimes that goes by the wayside W with Burger especially thicker Burgers where people don’t add I mean just something simple like salt and pepper all right so just getting after it there so you know Kyrie that’s fantastic but just visually I mean the cheese steak looks really good and again adding that you know that chili lime is a fantastic idea Kyrie’s Burger is a great homage to the great state of Minnesota McCarthy’s yeah McCarthy’s is McCarthy’s is going to be really good but it needs some work it’s a great uh it’s a great um analogy for his NFL career but I think one one right now has to be trox now people say well well the Bun’s a little bit burnt nah nah n it’s toasted cinjun style you’re good to go but I I I will say that just visually yeah Trey KNX is one one uh from the video so I would say Trey KNX one Roland 2 but but then again veering Offa visually cuz you know talk about that chilling lime and that acid in there we have to that ass Jimmy uh you know Kyrie 3 and I I’ll put McCarthy at four and again that that’s no uh aspersion on him because that still looks pretty damn good I’ve been just talk about the caliber of the other rookies where hey Subway um if you wanted a marketing opportunity that’s not going to bite you in the ass later the Vikings rookies go get them
