We needed someone to take penalties with PLD gone
Hopefully he bites fewer people than Brendan Lemieux did.
I guess the hope is Kopitar can curb his penalty taking tendencies. Which there’s a track record of (see Fiala).
But also kinda feels like we’re pseudo-tanking a season or two to reset when Drew’s $11M comes off the books, hence why Toff’s term won’t work
Physical forechecking winger who throws lots of hits and fights anyone… kind of sounds like something this team has needed for quite a while.
I also went back and watched all his goals from his rookie year in Nashville and it was a lot of net front rebounds and deflection stuff. It’s a contract year for him too… If he can get that stuff back, it could be an impactful trade for the Kings.
Tanner sure has been responsible for a lot of draft picks being traded.
