  1. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

Kwan stats- 252/254 PA to qualify, now hitting .368

There was an extensive rant about patience here. That rant has since been deleted. I am sad.

Allen had a decent start (patience). Gavin is back, Sticks is down. Bibee and Lively are good and Cookie has been revived thanks to the Hog catching. FO said they plan on being aggressive, Boyd is on the way, and more reinforcements likely are.

Bo has found his bat, while Kwan, Fry, and José continue being great. Josh and Gimmy keep showing flashes of peak ability, and all the kids have to figure it out all the way, but the talent is there. Hedgey brings vibes and a good glove. We have a legit offense.

Bullpen is best in the league. End of blurb.

We’re still 52-30. Math says we’re 22 games above .500, 7 games above KC, and at least 6 above Twins. This season did not end today. This team is legit and a 3-4 roadtrip against one of the best teams in baseball and a division rival ain’t gonna change that.

Let’s go slaughter the White Sox, get Kwan qualified, and [get our boys to the all star game.](https://www.mlb.com/all-star/ballot) Make sure you vote Soto+Kwan because Soto will get a spot and voting anyone else hurts Kwan!!!

  2. Today was my first time seeing the Gaurds in person and although the score wasn’t what I’d like it to be I’m so happy I got to see Steven Kwan get a hit and a run by the goat. Again, score isn’t what I’d like it to be but I was so happy to see my guys ball

  3. Glad Bo was looking good today. Having a good hitting catcher changes this lineup a lot. I really wish the other guys would start to emerge a bit. Freeman, Brennan, Rocchio, Arias are all subpar at best and their stats are bolstered by a few small hot stretches. Schneeman, Noel, Tena, Martinez, and Rodriguez are way too early to get a read on but I don’t know who they can be allocated enough playing time to change things. This lineup needs at least one middle of the order bat and maybe also some proven OF platoon option. Bats are gonna be a lot cheaper at the deadline than pitching ( but we still need pitching).

  4. Should have split. No excuse to waste that Lively start. Oh well, still have a nice lead. Hope they plan on being aggressive at the deadline to improve the team. If not the Dolan’s need to fuck off once and for all

  5. Absolutely abysmal performance by everyone this series. 1/4 @ KC? good lord. Thankfully the all star break is coming up.

  6. Our crops are burned, our city is destroyed, and we won’t make the playoffs.

  7. Good thing about this little swoon is that it’s hopefully telling the FO what areas we need to improve on. Another good thing is that our record lets us have these little slumps without much worry about things drastically changing standings wise

Logan was alright but I just can’t trust him that much

Boys get an off day tomorrow that I think will do them well. Then it’s time for the Gavin Williams legacy return start

  8. The worst part is that we have to sit on this until Tuesday. Only thing that could me feel(slightly) better is if the Twins lose.

  9. Bo is starting to look better, which helps slot David Fry into RF and 1B/DH a little more.

At this point we are just needing answers in one more OF spot as well as SS, which we have multiple possibilities for. Especially if Will Brennan can return from the IL and be a .700 OPS or higher option in CF.

Our hot start gave us the wiggle room, let the cards fall where they will.

I almost wouldn’t mind Manzardo returning just to keep Fry in RF 5 days a week.

  10. Going 3-4 on that roadtrip shouldn’t feel bad, but after winning the first 2 @ Baltimore and losing the winnable Lively outing, it sure does. Let’s get home and stack some dubs!
