become a leader how he’s taken all the other receivers under his wing he and GP are leading that room leading that charge I’m very excited about what he’s bringing to the table and what he’s done for that room this year Austin had two tough first Seasons he was out all of 2022 due to a Liz Frank injury and in 2023 he recorded only 17 receptions for 180 yards and one touchdown which was a 72 y against the Las Vegas Raiders in week three Steelers wide receivers coached Zack aazan said in mini camp that Austin had an exceptional offseason he’s been amazing he’s a guy who’s was gone from here to here in the last 8 weeks aan said it’s been very fun to watch he’s a worker he’s intentional he’s urgent he wants to be coached you can see it his game has improved I’m really excited about his season if he keeps practicing the way he has been Steelers quarterback Justin Fields also praised Austin saying he is wild with his route running he can create a lot of space in small areas field said he’s fast wild with his route running and he’s a hard worker there are some plays where he knows he’s not going to get the ball and he still wins the route having a player who puts so much effort on the field in every play is really good to see I think it’s going to influence the other players too Trice was impressive last off season with Mike Tomlin even calling Joey Porter Jr and tric to Avatar Corners in reference to their height and long arms however trice’s season ended abruptly on the first day of petted practice at training camp he tore his ACL ending his rookie season before it even began Trice is moving in the right Direction with his recovery and fully participated in the team’s OTAs he also recently practiced without a knee brace it feels good to be back out there tce told Alan saers of Steelers now it feels like the first day of school regarding his ACL injury tce said it all comes down to the set timeline and that he will be ready for the Steelers training camp in July it’s just a matter of time T said as soon as I knew what happened I went straight to surgery now I’m just grinding to get back right there’s definitely more work to to do I want to come back
