Cubs vs. Brewers Highlights (6/30/24) | MLB Highlights

Picture Perfect Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee the roof is open Cubs and Brewers match up for the final time of this three- game series it’s the rubber game last two starts for Freddy more like we expect out of Peralta he’s 1 and0 in his last two starts 11 Innings seven hits two runs he’s done a pretty good job against the Cubs this year has allowed only four runs in two starts we go hor a single on the first pitch of the game yesterday followed immediately on a first pitch home by Michael Bush caral also has a good slider and to change up you have to lay off that elevated fast ball to have success against him and that one Lac left field yell it back back some more nio harder what nothing Cubs and the Cubs just like they did yesterday are on the board immediately one to nothing yeah it’s a big swing of the bat for Nico he got a fast ball and he got one down and out over the plate a little bit but drops the head of the bat on it and hits a tower home run to left and that’s a wow right away half gets the walk Bellinger jogs to second now let’s see if Christopher Morell can make this a very prosperous first inning there’s a swing of the Miss Freddy challenged him with a big pass ball strikes him out two k a walk and two hits including a Nico Horner lead off Homer now Kyle Hendricks on the Bound for the Cubs 11th season in the Cub uniform he just passed 10 years of service time 3 fifth career start against Milwaukee on the ground off the side of the mound Warner picks it up and on second baseman throws out another popped up Monas is going to be retired the shortstop Swanson will pull this one down with no trouble at all two down to the right side and hoer and a nice easy inning couple outs on the ground and a popup one two three go the Brewers Swanson out on strikes tried to hold up couldn’t do it looked like a pretty good pitch anyway that is number three for Fredy jammed him and it will be a quick inning here for peral as terang makes a catch nine pitch Innings three up and three down go the Cubs one- nothing Chicago first hit of the game for the brw crew and Jake Bowers delivers with two strikes on a change up playable for Ian hap routine in fact and that’s out number two two outs for South Freel popped up good pitch by Kyle he walks off the mound thinking the inning is over and indeed it is no runs on a hit a man left on to inning number three to two ground ball to short got a hurry here Adamas long throw what a play will Adamas amazing oh man if uh the fans only knew how difficult of a play that is how long of a throw that is off balance going away from the bag I mean take him out I mean and it’s right on the money as well never take for granted what these guys do out there arm strength is incredible another one in on the hands Freddy’s got a good fast ball going that jammed Suzuki Yelich will put it away to end the inning two outs in the air after a one out walk Henrik strikes out monasterio two down Kyle gets his first strike out of the day stereo perhaps looking in can’t pull the trigger on a fast ball over the outside part of the plate popped up Morel drifting back and makes the catch in a nice easy inning for Kyle Hendrick contas with two hits yesterday and he’s got his first of the day today at infield s need to get Fredy some runs it’s been a uh a tough here in that regard kich has always had a tough time with hris a career 226 hitter against him but he’s cashed a couple in he’s at two homers against Kyle Hendrick yell center field well hit Yelich watches it fly a two-run home run Christian Yelich puts the Brewers in front in the fourth infield single and a bomb the Brewers are up two to one on the bottom of the fourth on Christian’s eighth home run of the Season see that all you have to do is ask and yellis delivers first walk from Hendrick Bowers on for a second time and here comes Tommy hotovy ree huskins the batter the Brewers are trying to piece it together that’s a highfly ball to left back on it is half he’s at the wall oh he missed it bers was going to tag and he’s going to have to stop at second base that’s going to be a long single for Hoskins defense defense defense lack their up for the cover that was brutal He just flat misread that one right off the bat he went down toward the corner overran it and never even came close first and second for South Frey just one out in the inning freck a base hit bers around third he’ll score sou freck makes it 3 to one Milwaukee change up not a bad pitch if you’re Kyle HRI he just went down and got it boy he covers the plate nicely doesn’t he well turned into something here it turned into another run and there’s just one out still with the runners on first and second three straight singles by Hoskins freck and now Cho wouldn’t you know the bases are loaded again for the Brewers they have been the Grand Slam crew here lately the last five plate appearances the Brewers have had the bases loaded they’ve hit four grand slams and now it’s terang terang in the right and another flies are you kidding it’s a grand slam again price terang his second salami and it’s seven to one Brewers 71 Brewers on the fifth Grand Slam in the last eight days you can’t make it up and the second one of the season for Bryce Teran wow the Brewers have scored a touchdown in the bottom of the fourth inning and that’s going to be it for Kyle Hendricks 3-1 is scoring here’s Cody Bellinger Bellinger a swing and a miss out number two there’s a strike out peralto he’s dialed now comes have a little starts taken out of him with that seven-run inning sausage race you know the little kids run on Sundays and look at these two guys monasterio and cuberry I mean they’re in it fully engaged in the process left him hanging I’m guessing monasterio’s kid won and it’s the seventh strikeout and three in a row now for Peralta 12 in a row retired Fly ball to Center going to be in the ball part for South freix short of the warning track for out number two Peralta just keeps on rolling 13 straight batters retired William conteras out to get peral to one last breather hoping he can finish off the Cubs here in the seventh he knows Jacob junis is getting loose in that Bullpen and I think part of that conversation was finish this thing out Freddy and he got him again struck him out with a change up eight KS across seven Innings 14 in a row retired to finish off his day Freddy Peralta outstanding Brewers look poised to win their night consecutive series here at American Family field in convincing style today the Cubs have not had a hit since the first inning miles m troni is going to be the batter now two men out for Chicago Master Bon Lazy Fly ball to Frick and the first team to 50 wins in the division the Milwaukee Brewers Pat Murphy and the Brew Crew keep it rolling to the tune of a 5- one home stand they have won five of the last seven against the Chicago Cubs

  1. If Happ had just caught that routine fly ball in the 4th, it would have prevented all 7 runs that inning. If it's not the bullpen, it's terrible defense. It's like we're trying to find ways to lose the game.

  2. Can any Cubs fan tell me : in this recap, the fastest ball thrown by Hendricks was 82mph if memory serves. Surely this cannot be his fastball? I know about speed isn't everything and keeping hitters off balance, but there has to be such a thing as a lower speed limit, is there? Or the recap just happened to only feature offspeed stuff from him.
