Zach Lavine: The Wages of Perception | Swish Theory

Honestly fuck the haters. Zach is a great player and I think everyone on this sub knows what he is capable of. His problem was that he was thrust into our “star” role following the Jimmy trade. The truth is he is a great complimentary piece but when the offense runs through him or he has his hands on the ball too much bad things happen. We all know he is one of the best catch and shoot guys in the history of this game. His athleticism is elite and if we have a facilitator feeding him on cuts he is an absolute weapon. I have seen him absolutely lock guys down when he is switched into stars and his 1v1 d really is good, he just needs to work on his rotations. If we can’t get a reasonable haul back from him he needs to be an integral part of this next team as an off ball weapon like a rip Hamilton. I think this experience has been humbling enough for him to step back and accept that role.
