It just took this long to read the diatribe about how this was an old secret recipe from the 1950s Yankees and stories of walking to the Bronx on a sunny day…
Then the recipe was below it.
I was reading some stuff on Pat Murphy and came across a something said by Counsell. I know most of you don’t like counsell but I actually think a decent part of why counsell took the other job in Chicago was to give Murphy a chance to be the head skipper here which despite how it went down gives me an appreciation for both the former and the current manager. Obviously Counsell has always thought highly of Pat Murphy as he brought him in to be on his staff when he joined the brewers, but take a look at this quote.
“I would say he changed my life, without question,” Counsell, the future Brewers manager who would hire Murphy as his bench coach, told Yahoo Sports. “I’ve always said my mom and dad and Pat Murphy are the three biggest influences in my life. By far. Like, no one comes close.”
That’s about the biggest endorsement you can possibly give.
