OTTAWA SENATORS MAKE A VERY STRANGE TRADE… JAKOB CHYCHRUN TO THE WASHINGTON CAPITALS (NICK JENSEN)

this is what I’m thinking about so we’ll make the video on the trade we will talk about the Nashville Predators after then we’ll talk about the Bruins and then we’ll go over some of the extra stuff because there’s bound to be more but for now oh my goodness Jacob chitan just got traded to the Washington Capitals for Nick Jensen and a 2026 third round pick a that’s it that’s it Nick Jensen in a third for Jacob chitron I don’t want to say that the Ottawa cators got fleed here but whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa oh my goodness Oliver egman Larson just signed a contract we’ll talk about that later some of the replies are really really interesting solid move from Ottawa downgrade a little bit but this player Nick Jensen feels a bit more of a need trades offense for a more balanced game good move for Washington getting a defenseman in his prime the main goal in this season is to just get o the puck what is Washington doing this offseason Washington win Washington going all in Washington going to be competitive this year I have no idea how to react to this the Caps acquired Jacob chitan from the SS for Nick Jensen and a third I mean that’s it I thought they would have got more for him that’s it a lot of people going out there and questioning where this is going what has Steve iser been doing yeah no sorry Ethan that’s uh that’s kind of the wrong GM there that you’re thinking about the Washington Capitals then tweeted it out it it is just that Jacob chitron for Nick Jensen and a third round pick caps are cooking what a win absolute dub honestly when I saw this pop up in my timeline my immediate Action Reaction excuse me was yeah that’s it seriously Jacob chitron goes for Nick Jensen and a third not to disrespect the profile of Nick Jensen but my goodness Jacob chitron this previous season scored 41 points in 82 games played in a year where everything kind of went wrong we had been saying this the entire time but a lot of players in the Ottawa Senators just did not live up to their expectations I mean Brady and Jimmy Stu these guys had 70 point years they’re very easily capable of more the goal tending all around sucked a lot of these guys on the back end did not produce as much as they could have but Jacob chitron was not a part of that he had 41 points sure you want to see chitron get 41 points in only 56 games like he did in 2020 2021 back when this entire trade thing on him started but the Ottawa Senators and the system there and the fit it just was not there for chit even though he is a HomeTown guy Hometown connections aren’t always what you need to make sure that things work out and in Chron’s conversation that was certainly the case so he gets traded for Nick Jensen and a third round pick now Jensen 33 years old signed on to the end of 2526 making 4.5 mil he’s a right-handed guy so a little bit more versatile in the lineup than chitron he doesn’t produce as much as chitron but he’s a lot more stable two-way the anwa Senators it’s easy to see why they got this player as one of the assets coming back it’s just because of the high flashy octane offensive potential of Jacob chitan I’m surprised that it is only Jensen and a third honestly the more I think about it it seems a lot more like an even trade when you consider just how little value Jacob chitan potentially had I mean everybody talks about how chitan was so available on the market so I guess in a way that devalues how much he could have gotten for Ottawa in return right and I guess it’s exemplified perfectly in this trade right here so let me know your thoughts in the comment section below if you’re a s’s fan or a capitals fan how do you feel about Jacob chitron getting traded to Washington for Nick Jensen and a 2026 third round pick I hope you enjoyed this Vish 99 and bye

  1. Sens just making some cap room to sign Pinto. They'll be bringing Kleven up as a third pair guy and Jensen fills a need as the RD to bring him along. Or Jensen plays with Chabot. Sens couldn't keep Chabot (stuck with that contract), and Sanderson, and Chychrun (who only had one more season on his deal). Sens needed to spend their $$$ somewhere else, and they had too many of the same kind of player. Just cleaning up a trade for Chycrun that didn't work out. EDIT: both have two years left on contract, so not much of a savings – although Chychrun more likely guy to get a raise in two years. So likely more about roster balance and team chemistry.

  2. Chychrun is a head case.. Wsh wins the trade but Jensen will help defensively.. I wonder if Yakemchuk goes right to NHL he is tough and ready and him with Sanderson look out

  3. A weak return after a weak return on Senko. The other 31 GMs must be salivating when they hear Ottawa is on the line with their green unqualified GM. Should have got at least a 2nd and not in two years, next year.
