again the the cane thing you know it’s it’s fine to me the deal is fine interesting structure to it by the way it’s it’s basically for all intents and purposes it’s basically A5 a halfish million dollar deal yeah he’s going to play 10 games it like the the wording of it’s wild like it’s it’s got a it’s got a $4 million salary to it like A4 million base salary the second he plays 10 games he gets 1.5 million more so it’s five a halfish million uh gets a $250,000 bonus if he plays 60 games gets a 200 or gets a $500,000 bonus if the wings make the playoffs so I know the people are going to like that stuff and 250k if he has 60 points and they make the playoffs so like to me that was here’s kind of my because I had somebody ask this they’re like Neil kind of give your thoughts on this how this went down and for me it was I bet Kane wanted term term years you know a multi-year deal Steve Eisman was not interested in that and oh by the way too like for the the crowd that was uh Kane’s got all these suitors this tells me that he didn’t have quite as many suitors as you think that he did yeah you know what I’m saying oh yeah yeah because he 60 points plus the playoffs and 500k for making the playoffs oh there we go that’s that’s ae’s hand like why if you’re an athlete if you have all these options and all these teams that want you like everybody said why would you why would you agreed on three4 of a million dollars out of your hands you wouldn’t is ITC well the 1.5 million at 10 games I mean if Patrick Kane doesn’t hit that then it’s an an absolute disaster I mean I get it in terms of the contract but we all we all agree that if he plays less than 10 games it’s it’s it’s not what we want we we want Patrick Kane as Red Wings fans because of what he did last year because of what he could do this season and I think a Patrick Kane signing like this indicates that this should be a playoff team I mean if he plays those 60 games Kan Kane’s betting on it yes absolutely like like let’s let’s let’s cut the here Patrick Kane is literally betting on the Red Wings being a playoff team to the tune of three4 of a million dollars yeah yeah and I think about that yeah and I would say that if Patrick Kane does Play 60 games and doesn’t even score quite at the rate that he did last year the Red Wings will probably be a playoff team assuming they make assuming I can kind of foresee what they’re about to do for the rest of the of the offseason but still even that I I think just having Patrick Kane from the beginning I’m not counting on him to play 70 or 82 but 60 I think that’s a pretty good a pretty good number when you consider his injury history or at least like the one injuries not so much an injury history as it is one injury but yeah Patrick Kane the reality is is that he earned it with his play last year it’s not based on what he did in Chicago where he built a Hall of Fame career won multiple Stanley Cups in MVP it’s based off of what he did last year what he could do with this team because last season he was second on the team in points per game and goals per game he averaged more points per game and goals per game than both Alex du brinkin and Lucas Raymond that’s that’s pretty great at least for him at his age given the fact that 50 games is not anything to sneeze at it’s more than half the season I love that but one of the most impressive things about Patrick Kane last year is that he actually led the team in game-winning goals was seven he basically had a game-winning goal in 17th of the games that he played last year it was his most game-winning goals per game that he’s ever had in his career it was in 2016 he had nine in 82 games and in 2019 he had seven in 81 games so he also showed up when the team needed him most I don’t mind the deal at all on Friday I predicted maybe lesser money but on Friday one of my moves that I that I said with Shawn Bion and lesser money but but he wanted term and the Red Wings that this is how this if if you’ve learned anything from when I’ve talked we talk about money and contracts yes there are two camps the money the length yep and sometimes the team’s more concerned with term and then all you have to do is find that equilibrium to both and that’s what this was sorry go ahead no absolutely but yeah that that was one of the moves that I said after kind of surveying everything that I would resign Patrick Kane because he’s a little cheaper than some of the the rest like a Sam Reinhardt who looks like he’s staying in Florida by the way just ju just to give an example but yeah no Patrick Kane this is a hell of a movie and it’s funny CU when I looked at that game-winning goal set I remember there was a stretch where it’s like okay Patrick Kane with an overtime gamewinner oh Patrick Kane with another overtime game winner oh Patrick Kane clinched it in the shootout it seemed like that was happening all the time when you look at the numbers it actually kind of was on a per game basis he was as clutch as there was in the entire NHL last year and yeah he scored a lot of goals to win games the Red Wings ended up winning more games and teams that made the playoffs I mean I’m I’m not about crying over rules make it so that it doesn’t depend on rules that’s what I’ve always said K they did they won more games sorry go ahead kg by the way in the chat lots to talk about you and the n-word for some reason I wonder why Night Guard n guard but uh go ahead k no I wanted to ask do you think um the wings are still in play for uh D Co or maybe even a name that I heard on the morning show trouba I I would suspect so until they’re not signed right trouba would be a trade uh trouba’s you know he’s still signed on contract so you’d have to trade for him uh stamp Coast that would be crazy that would be C if you get Kane stamp Coos and trouba this offseason that would make you a second round playoff team in my opinion I would agree with that if they all finish the season yeah right see now you’re now you’re venturing into that I really if if I could have one it would be trouba obviously um CU I just think like trouba and Edinson as your second de pairing that changes would kill people itti it changes the entire complexion of everything they would kill people out there there would there would be so much violence I would love that yeah no and and and for the record Steven Stam CO’s last three seasons has played 81 81 and 79 I know when you get up there and age there’s always that concern but he’s been durable as of late but yeah you talk about k you talk about uh you talk about Stam Co whatever Kane’s on a one-year deal sure he’s here now so whatever 100% hey my perfect one would be and I kind of mentioned this on Friday with uh with the great sha bgan and Korean Jesus Spenny and kg how about a possibility of Kane Stam coast and Matt Roy in free agency now that’s got me that’s got me feeling a certaint a certain way
