"To an extent determined individually, you must take into account how strong a team is right now and likely to be going forward. You must, to some degree, give weight to the events and games of the previous week."

Philadelphia PhilliesPhillies0Things have been shaky lately for the Phillies but they continue to maintain their division lead. The big story this week was the injuries of Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, who both avoided serious injuries but are both likely out through at least the All-Star break. The team would've liked to do better than 4-3 against the Tigers and Marlins and needed a rally Sunday to avoid losing 3 of 4 against the Fish. The schedule gets difficult from this point on, with 7 of their next 10 series coming against playoff teams, most of which are division leaders. Hopefully, the Phillies can maintain at least a 5+ game lead into the break and hope players returning from injuries can help weather that storm. This week is a road trip with 3 games at Wrigley and 3 games in Atlanta for the first matchup of the teams since the first series of the year.55-29
Baltimore OriolesOrioles+2I hope at some point throughout everyones lives they have the chance to get as excited as Heston Kjerstad was after he hit his grand slam on Saturday night. tweet link53-31
Cleveland GuardiansGuardians0Everyone go vote for José Ramírez and Steven Kwan for the all-star game. Josh Naylor and David Fry should be finalists, too. The Orioles series was great, the Royals series was disappointing. My depression is acting up, so I'm hoping the Guards being in Cleveland can help with that. 3 vs CWS and 3 vs SF.52-30
Los Angeles DodgersDodgers+1The Dodgers had one of the weeks of all time, dropping a series to the Giants and sweeping the White Sox. Miguel Rojas' streak of winning games where he gets a hit came to a sad ending this week. Shohei Ohtani as a lead off hitter continues to rake, and Chris Taylor seems to be waking up. All we can hope for from our boys in blue is that they don't get injured. There's been to much hurt going around.52-33
New York YankeesYankees-354-32
Milwaukee BrewersBrewers+1Other teams should try hitting a home run every time the bases are loaded. Also, Brice Turang and Joey Ortiz should have been all-star finalists.50-34
Atlanta BravesBraves-1First off, I apologize for missing last week. I had some pretty serious personal stuff that came up unexpectedly and wasn't able to submit my rankings or get a sub in time. Believe me I wish I was able to write about what was the Braves best week in a long time…but alas it is back to mediocracy for us. 3-4 on a week that should have been at least 5-2 in my opinion. The offense is cold again and i don't understand how this team just simply can't hit. Big upcoming series with the Phils this weekend in Atlanta. Will tell us a lot.46-36
Minnesota TwinsTwins+1Usually our west coast trips go poorly, but this one went really well with series wins over the A's, D'backs, and M'ariners. The pitching and hitting continues to move forward, and importantly Pablo is showing signs of being his old self again with his ERA dropping almost a full run, and his FIP hovering around 3.90. (However, due to west coast start times I didn't watch any of the games lol who invented that time zone anyway?)47-37
Kansas City RoyalsRoyals+2The Royals did what they need to in winning the series against Cleveland. Picollo said they are focusing on the outfield and bullpen for additions so that's a good sign. The Royals do need to figure out their issues on the road though.47-39
San Diego PadresPadres+2Padres fans witnessed the rise of Kyle as Higashioka hit three homers with 8 rbi's between Wednessday and Friday. San Diego has been 9-2 in their last 11, absolutely hitting the cover off the ball, with 7 or more runs in 8 of those games. It marks a high point for the season thus far, as SD's finally gotten some space between them and other clubs vying for a WC spot. July has more of a relaxed schedule by comparison, so hopefully the rest will help keep us going. The weekend series at home vs the D'Backs could really be pivotal if San Diego can take it. The Padres split an earlier 4-game series in June.46-42
Seattle MarinersMariners-3I don't really have much new to add from last week (this week felt like deja vu, to be honest), so instead I'm going to shout out my birthday buddy Nelson Cruz. The last (only?) good DH for the M's since Edgar, a great clubhouse presence, and some all-time clutch moments (as well as one very, very unclutch one.) Who doesn't love the Boomstick? Happy birthday, Nelson Cruz! Up next: 3 vs. Baltimoreos, 3 vs. annual Canadian invasion47-39
Boston Red SoxRed Sox-2The Sox regressed slightly this week, taking some rough loses against San Diego and Toronto, but overall things still are looking good. Jarren Duran is still putting up near MVP level numbers, Raffy's been mashing like crazy as of late, there are still holes in the lineup but nothing like what we were dealing with in May. I have a feeling we're gonna be busy at the deadline regardless of whether we end up buying or selling.44-39
Houston AstrosAstros0Grimace has been temporarily slayed (long live Gritty – that smile). We are above .500 for the first time this season and had the best record in the MLB in June. Kyle Tucker will probably rest that sore bone until the ASB, and we continue to be hit with pitching injuries. However, Luis Garcia Bronco has started his rehab assignment and the mythical McCullers is working his way back, too. Are things looking up?42-41
St. Louis CardinalsCardinals0Bronco.43-40
New York MetsMets+1Whatever happens, I'm just glad we embarrassed the Yankees.40-41
Tampa Bay RaysRays+3The Rays are on a streak of 4 series wins, and looking the most consistent they have this season. To steal someone's stat comment, Randy is hitting .272 the last 30 games, .294 the last 15, which goes a long way toward that consistency as one of the main and only threats in the lineup. Haters will say he's gonna get traded, but the Rays are back to .500 and anything is possible with 3 WC spots.42-42
Arizona DiamondbacksD-Backs-241-43
San Francisco GiantsGiants+6Oh blessed off day. It's a recovery day for the Giants (bullpen) after 7-Game week and winning 5 of them, including a series win agains the Dodgers in typically strange fashion. Three games under .500, SF is once again flirting with being a decent team. You klnd of have to believe a little bit, right, after beating the Dodgers? For all the doomers and dreamers this is the week / month to watch. On the road vs Braves and Guardians and, in the month of July, approximently one entire rotation Bronco will come off the IL. The Giants have to beat good teams and the pitchers returning have GOT to make an immediate impact.41-44
Cincinnati RedsReds+2fart noises THESE ARE THE CINCINNATI REDS. THERE ARE MANY TEAMS LIKE THEM BUT I CHEER FOR THEM. THE REDS ARE MY BEST FRIEND. THEY ARE MY LIFE. I MUST MASTER THEM AS I MASTER MY LIFE. WITHOUT ME, THE REDS WILL STILL BE AROUND, WITHOUT THE REDS I AM USELESS. I MUST CHEER FOR THE REDS. I MUST CHEER HARDER THAN MY ENEMIES, WHO ARE TRYING TO BEAT THEM. BEFORE GOD I SWEAR THIS CREED: THE REDS AND MYSELF ARE DEFENDERS OF GREAT AMERICAN BALLPARK, WE ARE THE MASTERS OF OUR ENEMIES, WE ARE THE SAVIORS OF MY LIFE. SO BE IT, UNTIL THERE IS A WORLD SERIES WIN. AMEN.39-45
Pittsburgh PiratesPirates+3Another 3-3 week, although this one was spent on the road and facing some tougher competition. The offense came alive to take a crucial series in Cincinnati, but then wilted in the Atlanta heat. At the end of the day, though, I can't complain about splitting the season series against the Braves, although I am still annoyed that they wasted two great starts from Paul Skenes in less than a week (what kind of slide was THAT, Edward Olivares??)40-43
Texas RangersRangers-4Flags fly forver, baseball can not hurt me this year. Also, please stop hitting our players. Like is the ball a magnet for our players? It's a miracle Corey Seager wasn't seriously injuried the other night.38-46
Washington NationalsNationals-4Nationals with a very unmemorable week. Nothing memorable happened this week Bronco and definitely not in San Diego. Got swept and then lost 2/3 to the Rays but tied 9-9 on run differential so basically the same…right?39-44
Chicago CubsCubs-3Same old, same old this week for the Cubs. Full of inconsistent offense, mostly great starting pitching, and yet more bullpen meltdowns, the Cubs were 2 Ian Happ home runs from going 0-fer on the week. In a season full of disappointments the lack of fundamentals has been arguably the most glaring, as the Cubs routinely fail to execute basic defensive plays and lead the majors in outs on the bases, uncharacteristic for a team with the highest paid manager in the sport. With a tough week against the Phillies and Orioles coming up, the Cubs selling at the deadline seems like an inevitability that could (and should according to most of the fanbase) cost POBO Jed Hoyer his job39-46
Detroit TigersTigers-2Nope, let's not talk about that 1-3-5 triple play. Nope. Hard pass. It never happened! Let's just keep limping to the All Star Break. This week: 3 at MIN, 3 at CIN.38-46
Toronto Blue JaysBlue Jays0Vladdy's numbers in the 10 games since cutting his hair into the new mushroom 'do: .932 SLG, 1.354 OPS, 18 H, 6 HR, 20 RBI. The reverse Samson is real, and this man deserves to start 1B for the AL All-Star Team. (This 471-ft piss missle of a HR out of Fenway should serve as his application.) Unfortunately, apart from Springer realizing chicks don't dig the worst qualified hitter in baseball and going on a mini-tear lately (12 H, 3 HR, 10 RBI the last 5 games), the rest of our very-much-not-All-Stars have kept us 7 games below .500 as we enter the back half of the season. We did split a wild series with the Yankees, which was fun apart from NY pitchers continuing to hit every batter thay can (the media is SO UNFAIR to them, guys!). But with an absolute dumpster fire full of ocelot turds in our bullpen and too deep a hole dug by the offense underperforming for two months, selling and looking to 2025 is on the table, barring a miraculous win streak aided by actual angels in our outfield. Yusei Kikuchi, Yimi Garcia, Kevin Kiermaier, Justin Turner, and sadly even our special boy Danny Jansen might be on the way out, while younger guys continue to get more looks to try out for starting roles next year. Let's get weird.38-45
Los Angeles AngelsAngels0Today is an extremely dark day for this nation and I am finding it difficult to find any words to dedicate towards baseball. Angels suck.36-47
Miami MarlinsMarlins+1Good news is we tied up the series against the Phillies, despite getting at Ranger Suarez who had a bad outing. Bad news is we blew that game late and ended up tying the series. The offense overall last week simply wasn't producing, which is largely why we lost the series against the royals. Still expecting the fish to make more moves before the deadline (hopefully) so we'll see how that shakes out in the next month. Gonna be a laundry party in Miami this upcoming week with Boston and the south siders playing series at loan depot.30-54
Oakland AthleticsAthletics-1No Bronco Submitted30-56
Colorado RockiesRockies0We honestly should have been swept by the White Sox. I couldn't in good conscience put us anywhere than 30th. One brightside of the week was seeing KFree get a quality start. For those that don't know, he went to high school in Denver and is a bit of a fan-favorite as a result. He's gone through a rough stretch and seeing him be his old self was the best part of the weekend. (Even if it was against the White Sox, who, again, almost swept us.)28-55
Chicago White SoxWhite Sox0The White Sox did 2 things of note this week. They scored double digit runs for the first time all season, and they won the season series against he Braves (how embarrasing for them!) It's been clear since the offseason that the White Sox are rebuilding, so now the focus is on if and when they'll trade their stronger trade chips. Robert is a bonafide star who can't stop getting hurt and Crochet leads the league in Ks with a Sub-1 WHIP and a 3.02 ERA. He has an innings limit worry in the short term, but who knows where they will end up and what their returns could be.24-62

  2. Brewers voter, AMA but also let me know if you voted for Ortiz and Turang and if not please attach your apology as well.

  3. I like how the Angels voter writes their most negative take during the week of their 6-game winning streak and capping off one of their best months in a decade
