of transactions over the last year have not gone Calgary’s way y that t Foley deal went about as well as it could have absolutely Sharon govic by the way with the Calgary Flames saw his goal totals more than double uh he probably saw his ice time more than double two though uh 31 goals 28 assists 59 points he’s got one more year at 3 million bucks and then his extension kicks in in 2526 and that is$ 5.75 million I didn’t realize that yeah that Mak sense extension doesn’t kick in until next season this is a guy that they believe hey we’re GNA start to build the team around him well there it’s built around Jonathan hubero on account of him makes 10.5 million right and what we talked about the early part of last year when huberto was uh um struggles continued is listen you have no choice but to make this work you have to find a way to make this work and it came from a somewhat unlikely Source like I didn’t think putting eigor Sharon goic with Jonathan huberto was going to fix everything but they turned uh hubero into roughly a pointy game player once those two were put together absolutely uh the next guy that that you got to talk about is a guy that has a ton of speed and had a resurgent year last year his most points since 2018 2019 that’s Anthony mantha who signs for one year in Calgary at $3.5 million now you might say what 3.5 million for Anthony mantha I’m telling you he had a good year last year including in his 18 games as a Vegas gold night because remember the cap sold at the deadline and made the playoffs anyway he had 10 points in those 18 games but only got into three games in the playoffs where he didn’t really contribute too much uh the reality is that Anthony mantha is a guy that’s always had tantalizing skills and in Detroit and in Washington never quite came together and the key thing with this deal is that it’s one year that like who cares what the price tag is the 3.5 eh take it or leave it might be high might be low whatever it’s the one year that gives you options if you’re Calgary at the trade deadline they keep refusing to say that they’re in a rebuild but I don’t think they’re going to be very good next year again and when you’re at the trade deadline you have this expiring deal there’s a trade chip this is such a smoke screen like no we’re not in the full tear down all we’ve done has gotten rid of markstrom toi mipan tanv zadorov have have I missed any lyol I started did you have Hanan ly oh hannahan yeah so yeah no the um no the let’s change the headline because it’s wrong we should change it for the video too the Calgary Flames didn’t sign Anthony mantha like his jersey like the back shouldn’t even say Anthony mantha will get a Max of like 55 it should say like uh today we signed a one-year contract with a second and a fourth something like that you know that’s roughly what it’s going to be yes they’re going to be a middling team and they’re probably going to sell at the deadline and this is a contract that they’re going to be able to sell cuz mata’s probably gonna have a just average season somebody’s gonna want him they at some point you are what you are yeah and and and you know what if he is uh a 20 his his career high-end goals is 25 he got 24 uh with Detroit as well one time he got 23 last year if he’s a 20 goal scorer that’s a a high mid- round that’s a second or a third well and and like to pay what is it 3.5 3 million just flat oh 3 million on the open market what is anyone complain 3.5 it is 3.5 myad 3.5 yeah still say the same thing yeah so well roughly yeah but I got a dock half a left and the right side it really probably doesn’t matter in Calgary but he does shoot left y um what do we think about that guy um I think well it’s really unfortunate that there’s a hole for Calgary to plug because Oliver Shillington uh leaving that situation I I think I mean do we know what’s going on with all theiling that could still happen not yet no yeah it could it could but last I checked before placing my head on the pillow last night as he was going to explore free agency you never know he might be back um Jake bean I I think is a is a good bet um for the Flames to make he’s got upside um I think he’s one of a few guys in this class of player who were young good when they were young signed for probably too much money when they were young and they’re in a position where they get bought out at far too young of an age purely because of their cap hit and not because they’re bad like it just wasn’t good value Jake being at 1.8 for Calgary I think uh is a MH and and I’m least start to get excited because you sell two things the hope of winning or the hope of rebuilding is it time to get look at him man he looks like Anthony Kus there he looks like literally like what that’s a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert and that’s Anthony Kus um is it time to get excited about the guys that are they’re bringing in because the Vibes at least will be great in Calgary yeah the vi The Vibes went up a little can I answer the question just by showing that video again yeah I think for for the last couple seasons in Calgary since that lost to Edmonton everybody’s been been moving out of town and it’s been a depressing couple years or sorry uh yeah in Calgary and I think now it’s on the upswing you’ve move you’re started You’ moved out most of the old you have some new it’s new Vibes so hopefully this is the beginning of a long journey back to a very competitive team for the Calgary for yeah it’s going to be a while yeah let’s be honest it’s going to be a long long time but the Calgary Flames are making some moves and they’re interesting ones character some goal scoring and some value good for them uh what hair and hair too great hair fantastic hair uh this is stpn free
